I bought a freestanding dishwasher from AO with a package to deliver and connect and recycle old integral dishwasher. On arrival they said they could not take away old dishwasher. There was no mention in smallprint that I could see. I ended up cancelling order and feel it was all a waste of time and am very disappointed with their service.

AO outlet

We bought an oven from AO outlet - didn’t work, replacement also didn’t work. They are giving us a refund but that doesn’t cover the cost of non refundable installation charges x2. So to try and save £100 on an oven we wasted £240 in installation costs. Bought an oven from Hotpoint - it works fine. I know people who have been happy with appliances from AO outlet and you can save money; but in this case we were left out of pocket. It’s a risk to order from them. Be warned.

Absolutely Abysmal Service…

I have just had a delivery from AO and although the delivery men were good they were unable to disconnect my old machine as they couldn’t turn the water off even although their installer who fitted my dishwasher a month ago had no problems. I am now left with no machine as their customer services are absolutely useless. They have my money and told me to wait 3/5 days which is ridiculous. Obviously never heard of faster payments. I think I will charge them 10% interest if the money is not in my account by Friday. I’m also a AO member but still had to pay additional on money. I will not be buying from them again.

BEKO Fridge/Freezer Tray Supporting Bracket Broken Off

Hi I bought a BEKO Fridge Freezer from AO, model number CNG4582VW, unfortunately after 14 months the plastic bracket on the bottom right side of the fridge has cracked off, which supports the bottom tray which normally holds our milk for a household of 2. I provided a letter to AO together with pictures of the fault as advised to do so by the Consumer Advice service. AO are not interested in my photos or letter describing the fault unless I pay for a report which may actually cost more than the repair itself and it must state that the problem is a inherent fault with the product. Obviously I don't want to pay out £100 for a report which they can easily say is not an inherent fault, thus leaving me with a £100 bill and a unrepaired fridge door, the Consumer Rights Act of 2015 states that the onus is on me to prove the product was faulty thus probably dissuading anyone from following up a claim for an item of this value if the report is dearer than the repair itself and no guarantee of the report being refunded. I am disappointed that AO couldn't just look at the photos, read my letter and determine themselves what the issue was in good faith. Very disappointed with their customer service and lack of understanding together with just a modicum of goodwill to at least look at the evidence provided.

I wrote a review yesterday and it wasnt very good. I was on hold or over 2 hours yesterday and was told to call at 7 AM and I would get a quick customer service rep, well I called at exactly 7 M and was told I was no 4 in the Q and it is after 8 and still no rep to talk to. I bought a $2000 hot water heater less than a year ago and it has quit working and to talk to a Rep is the only way to get a work order for repair but it is obvious that will never happen. I read all the other reviews, and not one was favorable. I would like to get a group and start a class action lawsuit.

Goods never turned up

I bought nearly £2K worth of electrical goods from AO,com, which was supposed to be delivered at a particular day and I paid extra for an early morning time slot. When I got a text message a hour after the start of the time slot, saying that the driver had tried and failed to deliver, I phoned the AO call centre immediately. The call centre was extremely unprofessional, with shouting and loud laughing going on in the background. They didnt seem at all bothered that the delivery had failed, and could only offer me a free delivery slots three weeks from the date of the delivery. On discussion with the operator, it appears that the driver went to the wrong address, which was confirmed by my Ring doorbell video footage. I asked for the entire £2K amount to be refunded, including their “5 star” membership. I have no idea whether or not this company ever even had my goods. No other delivery firm has got completely the wrong address before. Do not bother buying from AO.com, I think they are probably a scam company.

Poor installation

Nice delivery guys but left waste pipe loose at both ends!
This then leaked all over the plug causing a dangerous short circuit and trip switch failure.
Cost us an emergency electrician call out

Absolutely terrible.Dont even think of buying through AO.Dont even know what day it is or how to send an email Send an electrician to disconnect a gas cooker.Dont know where there emails have gone.Cooker going to be delivered Weds,then Tues,oh no! Weds.An absolute joke!!!!

5-Star Customer Treated Terribly – Still No Working Dishwasher After 9 Months

I’ve always rated AO highly — I’m a long-time 5-star AO customer — but this recent experience has been shocking.

I purchased a Haier XF 4A4M4PDA-80 dishwasher (Invoice AOL219108478, December 2024) for £809, and it hasn’t worked for nine months. AO referred me to Haier for repairs, but we’ve now been without a working dishwasher for over a month, waiting for an engineer who was cancelled last minute and can’t come until next month.

AO advertises great customer service, but when things actually go wrong, they disappear and push you back to the manufacturer. That’s not customer service — that’s passing the problem.

I’m now demanding a full refund and will be taking this to small claims court if it isn’t resolved. I’ll also be sharing this experience publicly to warn others.

Extremely disappointed. What happened to AO’s service standards?

They offered a fair price for a dishwasher which has been mainly very good. However it has been faulty since I bought it. Hisense HS622E90XUK Standard Dishwasher - Stainless Steel - E Rated keeps stopping mid cycle on an F11 fault. I had it professionally plumbed in by AO engineers and keep the filter clean yet the issue continues. The dishwasher performes well and is very quiet but feel prospective buyer should be made aware of this fault

Very poor customer experience

I ordered a grey Hotpoint tumble dryer with a booked delivery slot of 12.00-17.00.

I received a black model delivered at approximately 18.30.

Now I have to wait for a refund and collection.

A very bad customer service experience, do not use.

I have used AO before but today was the…

I have used AO before but today was the worst experience. Had 4 hour window to install a hob. With no word from the driver whatsoever, I caught them 2 hours after their delivery slot outside my door on the phone to their company saying they couldn’t deliver without even having the courtesy of knocking on my door. I came out spoke to them said I was happy to carry the hob in whilst they parked up and came in to install the hob. They said they couldn’t bring it in because they couldn’t park up to deliver it, meanwhile another AO Van came into my street taking in white goods (washing machine etc from the van supposed to deliver my hob to transfer goods over from one van to another). I explained to them in the time this was happening they could have easily carried a lightweight hob into my house. Still the answer was no. They said the rules were that while they were installing the van had to have a parking space within 100 metres of my front door. Ok this is fine. I offered to ask my neighbour move his work van so they could park, but they had a mostly empty TRUCK that needed parking and said it wouldn’t fit. In the end I had to cancel the installation and through much determination managed to get my hob from them off the truck in order to not waste another full day waiting for them for the same result. Very very bad communication. Sneaky of them to try and scarper off without knocking at my door, and an awful policy that they come with a mostly empty massive TRUCK demanding that if they can’t park legitimately outside your house for an hour they can’t install. You’d expect an installation service to be a transit van or something similar and commutation and customer service to be way better. I did ring up to voice my concerns but was told that’s the way it is. I have taken my hob and will have to organise installation with someone privately myself. When time is of the essence when moving house and trying to get things done efficiently this was a wasted day and not a reliable service.
