Loveky afternoon tea been a few times…
Loveky afternoon tea been a few times can't fault
Looked after us and our small dogs.
The staff, support and facilities both my Wife and I enjoyed. Thank you
Wouldn’t book a business booking again
The number plate recognition for the car park didn’t work after I first entered and kept reading my plate wrong so had to constantly take tickets and press the help button to exit the car park. Check in was easy with no wait and the reception were lovely and friendly. In fact the reception staff were fantastic throughout my entire stay! The room was large and clean, however there were dark brown stains on my towels for the first two days but I found the spare ones were ok so just used them. The cleaners came daily but I did notice they never changed my dirty teaspoons so had to go down to reception to get more. However, they did keep replenishing the biscuits which I highly appreciated and they are really tasty! The downside to my room was the toilet dripped all day and night, quite annoying. The TV speakers had blown so couldn’t really have it too loud. On my fourth and final night I had a dog in the room opposite to mine which just constantly barked and whined for 6 hours straight non stop! I had to tell reception twice as I was concerned! There was also a wedding going on downstairs and the music was literally shaking my room from 6.30pm to 11.45pm. I swear I must of had the room right above the speakers! It was horrendous! Far too loud and not acceptable! After working really long hours this is the last thing I needed! I also had a 16hr shift the following day too so really wasn’t happy. I did call reception as it was so bad and she said it was due to finish at 11pm and that she’ll ask the manager if they can turn the bass down, which didn’t happen. Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked so they couldn’t even change my room. So all in all a horrid nights stay on the Saturday, probably the worst I’ve ever experienced in a hotel and I’ve stayed in some horrid hotels. There’s no AC at this hotel and heating is not controllable. I did use the spa facilities during my stay. The changing rooms were filthy with hair clumps everywhere, in the showers, on the sides, on the benches and floor! Disgusting and so glad I brought my flip flops! No shampoo or body wash in the showers so make sure you bring your own. You need a £1 coin for the lockers and towels are provided. The swimming pool could only fit 3 people in to swim laps and no more, Not ideal when the hotel is busy. The jacuzzi buttons didn’t always work but the steam room and sauna were fine. I did like that they had an ice bucket. I didn’t use the gym so can’t comment. I dined one evening in the main restaurant. The food was really lovely and I really did enjoy it. I then dined in the bar on another evening and wasn’t impressed. From order time to delivery it was 5minutes maximum and I had order the pulled pork wrap with chips. The chips were reheated and cold, so I left them all and the wrap was cold pulled pork not warm or hot. poor slow service and no one checked my food was ok. Really disappointed in this meal. So following that I thought I would order to my room but as there were no menus in my room I had to go down to reception where they said it should be on the TV when I first turn it on and my TV definitely didn’t do that it just went straight to channel 9 which never aired anything. I ordered a tuna bloomer but didn’t want the tomatoes but it was a premix so they couldn’t do that. I also asked for salt and mayonnaise to come with the chips. The food was delivered in a reasonable time and you pay by card on delivery(£2 room service fee, which was fine by me) The chips were a good temperature however the bread was stale and really hard the edges. Also no mayonnaise, no salt and no cutlery so had to send the waiter back downstairs and had to wait for his return. It’s not a modern hotel by any means and could do with a revamp. It’s a shame as when you enter the reception area it looks and appears very elegant and modern and the staff are very presentable but the rest of it is a let down. Close to the NEC but for me to get to Hall 19 was a 45minute walk.
Avoid
We booked this hotel for a stay after a late night flight. I informed the hotel our check in may be around 0300, depending on flight delays. We arrived at approx 0345, the receptionist claimed our booking had closed off at 0300, I explained the hotel had accepted our late check in. The receptionist just stood there, pretending to do something on his computer, I could see he wasn't doing anything.
After an hour of waiting, we decided not to stay there any longer and made the decision to drive home.
A couple of days later, I received a 'no show charge' from the hotel/booking.com.
I called the hotel to challenge this, the lady said she would look into it. I spoke to her a few days later, she informed me the night receptionist denied our attendance and claimed we didn't actually arrive. I explained to the lady that their CCTV and car park barrier would confirm we were there.
After several phone calls, they agreed to waive the cancellation charge as the fault was due to their incompetence.
To summarise, don't book this hotel if you intend arriving after midnight.
Highly recommended
This is the third year running that I have stayed at the Arden Hotel and Leisure Club and I continue to be amazed.
This is a business trip for me and as such we are on a budget but having considerable experience of 5 star hotels since retiring and selling my company I am in a position to be able to compare.
I could bore the reader with a lot of detail but all I really need to say is that the service from this hotel is exceptional, the food is excellent and value for money is outstanding.
The management needs to be commended, as quality stems from the top.
I can’t recommend it more highly.
Linda the door host at The Meeting Room…
Linda the door host at The Meeting Room was wonderful! She greeted me with a lovely smile and made sure I had everything I needed.
The rest of the staff and receptionists were friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble,
The room was very clean and comfortable.
Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel, clean room and helpful friendly staff. Perfect location for NEC or airport.

Went to a 1920s Murder Mystery night and had a wonderful time.
The set evening meal was beautiful and breakfast was lovely with plenty to choose from. The added extra of a brilliant singer on the evening after the murder was solved was excellent.
Would definitely recommend.
Only thing is the decor, could do with updating but was overlooked due to everything else being so nice.
Ridiculous charge
Explained my partner would be attending to collect a spare key upon check-in due to customer commitments. When my partner arrived she was told she would need to pay an extra £25 for staying in the room. Absolutely ridiculous.
Posh Tea at the Arden
Booked in for, "Posh Tea" for my husband's birthday. Party if 4 including my 3 year old granddaughter. We were warmly welcomed and seated. Table had proper linen napery - not paper. Squash was provided for the granddaughter and tea for everyone else. I chose decaffeinated. The tea pots were replenished on request. Food arrived on a lovely stand with a good variety of sandwiches, scones, strawberry jam. Clotted cream. Array of cakes and sweets. A surprise came in the form of a huge portion of cheesecake for my husband's birthday, complete with chocolate leaf trimmings, strawberries, raspberries (granddaughter made short work of those) and a lit candle. The lady table server was kind enough to take a photo for us. There was no rush to get us fed and out of the door. Altogether a very nice afternoon indeed. I definitely recommend
Delightful afternoon tea.
The location information on the website stops any Sat Nav confusion and leads you to the car park which is free for customers to use. The reception staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, they directed us to the Burgundy Suite where
we were greeted by the in house hospitality staff who provided excellent customer service, ensuring all our needs were met.
What we received tasted as good as it looked. Service was professional and we received our afternoon tea within a timely fashion. Great selection of beverages, we had an adequate amount of tea and coffee, which complimented the wide variety of sandwiches, cakes and of course delicious scones, which were accompanied by a generous helping of clotted cream and strawberry jam. "Yum Yum I say!"
We left feeling extremely satisfied with the whole experience.
All our requirements were catered for!
I felt the need to leave this review so that others can also enjoy an afternoon tea here.
Brilliant 70th Surprise for my mom.
I booked an afternoon tea with leisure facilities for my moms 70th and my aunt. After calling both the hotel and leisure suite directly, the wonderful staff then decorated her table and made her feel like the queen she is in my eyes. Nothing was too much trouble for my mom, so I want to personally thank everyone involved in making this a special day for them both.
Home from Home
This is a fantastic Hotel for gigs for the World Resort Arena. Staff very friendly, rooms are lovely and comfortable, cheap beer what more do an old rocker need!!!! Home from Home 🖤🤘
Not be staying here again
Staff were excellent very friendly apart from that. The food was disgusting from cold food to rubbery chicken.Over charged for a room that was obviously 2* but paid 4 * price. It needs updating throughout. Will not be staying there again

Booked afternoon tea for my Granddaughters Birthday.
Absolutely wonderful experience.
Staff attentive, polite and organised and the food was plentiful and delicious.
Will book again.
Wonderful and pleasant experience
My sister and I stayed at the Arden hotel Birmingham this weekend for a conference and I couldn't wait to review my experience at this hotel.
My experience has been a pleasant one. From the time we signed in until now with one more stay.
If people I am asked to give am example of what good customer service is like, I will say stay at the Arden hotel.
Staff are very lovely, professional, interactive, warm and friendly. From the men ans women at the reception, staff at the bar, cleaners to the leisure centre. I have not stayed at a place where everyone in unison greeted you with smiles or genuinely happy to assist.
Enjoyable stay
The Arden hotel is a badly managed…
The Arden hotel is a badly managed venue which is outdated, tired and filthy.
The pool/sauna had dirty old men making lewd comments so steer clear.
The event staff and main staff never talk so communication is appalling. A lovely double room was given for 2 people then the worst twin substituted. rates were incorrectly put on a group booking and took 45 minutes to sort on check-in.
I had a bad stomach from dinner on the first night but I was already wide awake as it is an incredibly noisy hotel in most of the rooms. Do not expect to sleep well.
Trays littering the corridor along with ironing boards propped on walls will be your art for a few days and you will not get new towels or bins emptied. I don't think I ever saw the staircase being cleaned - in fact didn't see a cleaner at all in 3 days.
Rooms are small but adequate although poorly maintained and chipped sinks etc.
A heating or air-con unit on the first floor is incredibly noisy so good luck if you are next to it.
They obviously need to save money as power for
sockets was turned off in a function room costing us 45 minutes of the event we booked for.
The car park spaces mean you cannot actually open a car door to get in properly so if you are disabled good luck.
The hotel is incredibly unsafe in terms of security - doors are wide open at the rear and anyone can and do come and go as they please.
If you book an inclusive rate ensure you are only charged for what you should be - staff will NOT communicate this and if you want food tell them you will be ordering pudding or they will close the kitchen before you can. - Order a pizza in you would be better off.
If booking for a group make sure you are NOT held liable for individual rooms as they have NO covid policy apparently there isn't a problem now...
Despite telling them I was already late for where I needed to go as I checked out I was chased to the door and hounded by the "manager" wanting to know my concerns. No follow up afterwards.. Staff responses in emails are less than courteous and accuse you of being angry..
and they do not want todrag themselves down to your level... gosh...
Never USE!!!
Will not give money back or respond. Please everyone never use this Hotel again. They have shown their true colours in a national crisis
Not a great experience.
Not a great experience.
Pool was nice but changing rooms need updating. Remote control did not work in room and had to have changed. Still waiting for a bulb to be replaced but told they don't have maintainence over weekends. The worst is the toilet. You can't use without burning yourself. The heated towel rail is next to toilet. How stupid. Will not be staying here again.
