Terrible service in every way. Stick to Amazon

I ordered some a TV on 26th December for guaranteed delivery 29th December.

It was a signed for delivery which never arrived despite me waiting in for half a day.

They stated goods were delivered when they were not and there was no Proof of delivery.

I was told a solution would be advised within 48 working hours.

I chased after 48 working hours and was told exactly the same.

6th Jan I chased on the phone and have now been told its 5 working days for a response.

I have no TV and am £329 down.

Terrible service. I work in business and would have sorted this out immediately on the basis there is no proof of delivery.

Call centre was foreign also so impossible to clearly understand what they are saying.

I will be sticking to Amazon in future. Argos is an outdated business struggling to compete with serious retailers

Disgusting service

My delivery was 7 minutes away and the my order cancelled, no explanation. I phoned Sy at customer service and she said my refund will take 5-7 working days and my order wasn’t loaded onto the van so it was cancelled. Then when I asked to speak to a manager she kept my hanging for 30 minutes and then said no ones available and hung up. I’m disgusted. So you’ve had my money from 1st January to 14th January and there’s nothing I can do about it. It may as well be just for toys as nothing else gets delivered. What about taking care of your customers.

Urgent Report of Alleged Employee Misconduct

Dear Argos HR Department / Corporate Office,

I am writing to raise serious concerns regarding an employee at the Argos store located in Lion Retail Park, Woking, Surrey.

Employee Information

• Name: Mrs. Safina Ahmed (also referred to as Mrs. Samina Ahmed)

• Position: Team Leader / Supervisor

• Employment Start Date: 1997

Allegations

It has come to my attention that Mrs. Ahmed may be misusing her employee discount card by providing discounts to individuals who are not relatives and do not reside with her, which is contrary to company policy.

Additionally, she is allegedly supplying new technological products such as laptops and iPads to individuals waiting outside the store, particularly during times when store managers are on their breaks.

Actions Requested

• Investigate Employee Records: Review Mrs. Ahmed’s transaction history and discount usage over the past 26 years.

• Review CCTV Footage: Examine surveillance footage to verify her activities during managers’ break periods.

• Take Appropriate Action: If the allegations are substantiated, implement strict disciplinary measures to protect the company’s financial interests and reputation.

Impact

These alleged actions could result in significant financial losses and reputational damage to Argos. It is therefore essential that this matter be investigated promptly and thoroughly.

Additional Information

For any further details or clarification, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your attention to this serious matter.

no delivery no refund

I ordered a Bluetooth speaker costing £99.95 on the 18th of December as a Christmas present. I was told to collect it from my local Sainsbury’s Argos in Bridgnorth and went there on the 22nd, only to be told it was not there. I was then told it may have gone back.

I was assured it would not be delivered on the 23rd but would arrive before Christmas Day. I was also told that if it did not arrive by the 27th, I would automatically receive a refund. This was completely pointless, as the item was intended for Christmas.

After a very frustrating and unhelpful chat with the automated bot, I spoke to an online assistant who could not tell me whether I would receive the item or not. I then phoned the Argos helpline, where the adviser also could not confirm whether it would arrive before Christmas. I was told I could do a 40-mile round trip to another Argos store to buy one — but I would have to pay another £99.99 upfront.

I asked for a refund immediately, as it was clear the item would not arrive in time. I was told this was not possible and that I had to wait until the 27th if it was not delivered.

Here we are on the 31st of December: no email, no update, and no refund. After another 15 minutes of online chat, I was finally told I would receive a refund within 48 hours. Had I not chased this repeatedly, I am convinced I would never have received a refund at all.

Overall, the customer service was dreadful, inconsistent, and deeply frustrating. I was repeatedly fobbed off, given conflicting information, and left to chase a refund that should have been automatic.

Won't exchange item

Called in middlesbrough argos to exchange a Christmas present as it was wrong size it was a samsung watch my husband bought it for Christmas and he got a 44mm instead of a 40mm so it was far to big for my wrist, so we took it back for an exchange it had not been worn box was opened i saw the size of it and knew straight away it was massive, they would not change it at all more or less said it was our fault and deal with it so will be taking it further now this is not acceptable at all crap customer service not willing to help the watch was over 300 pounds as well so not cheap so we stuck with a watch I can't wear as too big if I bought a dress too big it would be exchanged for a size that fits no difference not happy with argos at all see what happens when I take it further

I Placed an order on the 20th December…

I Placed an order on the 20th December 2025 and asked for delivery on the 23rd December 2025 2pm to 9pm. On the 23rd I had no email for a delivery time my status had not changed to dispatched but track my order showed delivery 2 to 9pm. No delivery was made. I Received an email at 1.50am on the 24th to say my order would be delivered on the 23rd December at 2.50pm to 5.50pm. I also had a text sent on the 24th at 6.45am stating the same as the email. I rang Argos to see if it should read 24th but was told my order wasn't delivered as the driver ran out of time. Funny when my timeslot was 2pm to 9pm and delivery was for 2.50 to 5.50. The next delivery date was the 26th december as the 24th was fully booked. So someone who asked for delivery after me would get their delivery before me. Totally unacceptable and unbelievable. I have lost all faith in Argos and will not shop with them again. I received an email for delivery on the 26th 7.04am to 9.04 am when the item hadn't been delivered at 3pm I once again rang Argos who said the item was attempted to be delivered at 2.40pm but the driver couldn't find my address. I can't believe a company as big as Argos doesn't have sat nav. Unbelievable. I have now arranged delivery for 27th 2pm to 9pm then if not delivered I will cancel and request a refund as I refuse to go through this process again. However if the refund process is like the delivery one I am dreading it. I usually shop on Amazon but thought as this is an expensive item I would shop with Argos but lesson learned. Either go to the store where you are your own delivery driver or don't bother with em.

Purchased Hoover Dishwasher 23 November…

Purchased Hoover Dishwasher 23 November 25, first delivery was booked and then cancelled two days prior to delivery. Rebooked and received delivery 11 December delivery guys took out my dishwasher and tried to install new one but it was broken (the third machine that week that had the same defect) they took my Bosch machine and faulty dishwasher away leaving me with no usable sink as couldn't get a cap for the ubend. Rebooked new replacement for delivery 18th December but that got cancelled and only option was 30 December and still no sink. Ended up telling them to cancel as it was clearly no ones fault but mine. However they are now taking 30 days to refund my money as they need to investigate..... SOOOO they have my machine, they have me MONEY and are keeping for the next 30 days and I have no sink for Christmas.... Tried to recover my money through Paypal but Argos Team are still saying they need 30 days to investigate.... not sure it takes 30 days to confirm they did not leave a faulty dishwasher at my property..... absolutely pathetic and to top if off they offered me a £50 voucher off any of their stores.... Of course I would love a voucher to spend on faulty products that do not get delivered and installed on time

For people complaining about Argos not…

For people complaining about Argos not accepting refunds, take it further.

This happened to me and I am taking it further.

Argos is INCORRECT to refuse your return if you used the item only to test it for a fault or to check it was as described. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have a LEGAL right to a full refund within 30 days if the goods are faulty, not as described, or unfit for purpose, unfit for purpose is based on your opinion, not THERE'S, and testing an item is considered reasonable if it is necessary to determine satisfaction.

Useless customer service

I purchased an item on a promotion that I could claim a gift voucher for, it wouldn’t work after contacting customer service they said to wait for window to close and they can manually put it through.
After several phone calls and live chats and proving that is what I was told I still haven’t had a reply after 2 weeks.
Absolutely ridiculous customer service!

Argos delivery is basically rubbish

Argos delivery is basically rubbish. No willingness on the part of the delivery crews to be helpful and where necessary take a few minutes extra to fulfill an order. Move interested in getting away to the next delivery. Is this the fault of Argos for sending out too many items on one lorry a day. Or if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. We ordered a new fridge freezer for 17th all ready for Christmas. Now got to wait until 6th Jan because they couldn't be bothered. Thanks lads. So disappointed.
Will never deal with Argos again

Deceit and Robbery

Ordered an Electric Keyboard on the 14th December 2025, they offered free delivery on Thursday 18th December 2025 so I took advantage of that and took the day off work. The delivery time slot was between 2pm and 9pm. The package didn't arrive.
At 9:30pm I received a text saying 'Sorry but we couldn't deliver your parcel today'. This was followed up with an email stating someone would be in touch to arrange a redelivery.
On Friday 19th December 2025, I received another email stating a refund had been processed and I'd have to wait 5 business days to receive my money back. I hadn't requested a refund so I rang Customer Services, they said the van my parcel was on had broke down and now the item was out of stock and that is why a refund had been processed. I said, why can't you deliver the one I've paid for and is currently sitting on the broken down van and they said they can't help me any further and terminated the call. I then checked online and noticed they had increased the price of the keyboard I had ordered by £36! So this confirms a few things...

Argos take your money for a product, fail to deliver it, lie about its whereabouts, keep your money for a week at a time when you need it most, then try and charge you an additional £36 to buy the same product from them after they know you want it for Christmas. The dirty scabby thieving bastards. I'll never buy another thing from that shit-hole again.

Absolutely no customer service!

I collected a Bush DAB Bluetooth Micro System from Argos on Mon 15th Dec. I set it up at home but did not switch it on as I went into hospital on the Tues morning. On my return home on Wednesday 17th Dec after two hand operations, I found that the unit would not switch on. I contacted Argos on line via the 'Trevor' AI bot which was useless. I then found a phone number which after several attempts got me through to tech support who were very helpful but agreed that the unit was faulty & would need to be returned. Tech support put me through to ' Customer services'. After a 5 min wait a lady answered. She did not give her name and was very brusque. I reiterated the issues and explained that due to the operations, I was unable to drive or carry anything and therefore could not return the item in person. Her response: " I had an operation yesterday and I am back at work. Take painkillers and get on!" This was totally inappropriate! I expressed my shock at her attitude and asked if the call was being recorded as I would be lodging a complaint. She then told me she was putting me directly through to my local Argos branch. She ended the call. It took two more phone calls before I was told that because I had collected the item in person, it had to be returned in person and could not be collected by Argos. I was told to ' get a taxi' which is fine but I cannot cary the item. I have paid for a faulty item that I cannot return and Argos couldn't care less!

Wish I could give zero stars.
After placing an order was given a date for delivery, waited in all day and never arrived. Phoned to see what was happening and was told it will be delivered as a matter of priority that day, waited again all day for it not to arrive again. Canceled the order and awaited a refund. After 17 days no refund had been issued. Phoned again, going through a whole procedure to be told "goodbye" and hung up on by some automated voice. Managed to get through to someone via the Sainsburys call system. and finally have my refund but the have the cheek to retain the carriage charge. Their website seems deliberately set up to put people off. Last time I will ever make a purchase from Argos.

Paid for delivery…not delivered!

Paid for fridge freezer and delivery paid for and booked with Argos.( Son has moved from rented property with fridge to house with no fridge.) So really relying on getting fridge as paid for and arranged. Day off work on delivery day but no fridge arrived.
Late in delivery day got message saying unable to deliver -ring to re arrange. Rang Argos and no delivery date for a further 2 weeks. Need fridge now so cancelled order but refund will take 5 days.
So no fridge and no money /refund- very let down.

Just avoid

I’ve heard reviews of Argos, mostly negative, but decided to go ahead as I had a voucher.
I took the day off work due to the 10 hour delivery window. Only to receive half of my order, and incorrect items within the part of the order I did receive.
They advertise a coffee machine that comes with Cappuccino, Nescafé Gold Blend, & KitKat pods. The item arrived with no KitKat pods but instead 2x Cappuccino and 1x Nescafé Gold Blend. This is despite the packaging stating (even with pictures) what it should include inside. The hot chocolate pods was the main attraction for the purchase in the first place.
Upon speaking to an ‘agent’ on live chat, having to repeat all of the answers to security questions twice, he comes back to tell me I have to wait 4 hours before they can assist me with a faulty item? I didn’t state that anything was faulty? Also no mention of the item not received!
When I finally speak to someone on the phone after the first person not being able to hear me after being on hold so long, I’m told I have to get it collected for a refund. How is that a resolution? I want the item I bought! As for the missing item I need to wait until the end of the day to see if it shows up.
Absolutely useless, and the fact that I’ve used a voucher from my insurer, it means I can’t even take my money and go to a better run company.
Can’t use the item I was excited about as it has to be collected and refunded so I can get the right pods (instead of just partially refunding me).
Have to wait 5 days for the refund to process.
Went back and fourth with the agents poor line as she couldn’t find the insurance I bought through Argos, which now needed refunding.
Awful company!
