super cozy hotel in the middle of Copenhagen, delicious room, fantastic breakfast buffet with everything clear and harmonious, beautiful background music everything worked and will definitely come again, fantastic location close to the Strøget and the Bandegården

We went to Copenhagen for a weekend away and used a well known booking site to book the hotel. We checked various reviews as always and all seemed ok, however, as we found out through personal experience, the hotel itself was less than perfect. To start, at no time was we informed of the refurbishment of part of the hotel and so to be greeted with a large skip and hoarding when we arrived, was not a good start. To be fair once inside the hotel lobby, it was fine. The staff in reception were reserved and although efficient, were not really welcoming. we got the key to the room but because of the refurbishment, got a little lost with the basic information, as there are a number of lifts in the hotel that take you to different parts of the building and unfortunately we had to make a second visit to reception to find our room. Once in the room, the amenities were very basic, not even supplying a machine to make either tea or coffee. We were charge the room rate for a double but, as we found out, it was a twin, as the beds moved apart all the time. As a couple, we want a double bed and so that is why we booked it. As to the position of the room, DO NOT stay in rooms 105,205,305,405 and so on and if you get given those rooms, please asked to be moved away. This is because, they are next to the lift, which not only makes a considerable noise when it is in operation, but it also makes loud screech when it stops. This starts at around 5:30 am and continues on from that point until late at night. Admittedly, we were not in the room that much but our sleep was severely disrupted. Breakfast was an additional cost and with the room being in excess of £170:00 without this, it pushed the price up to over £200.00 per night!!. So with all the points above considered, we would strongly urge anyone planning to stay at the Ascot, to look at other options, as we found the hotel overpriced, lacking in the basic amenities and under refurbishment and although this was temporary, this was not relayed to us at any time and would not have changed the other issued that we had.

Probably the best located hotel in Copenhagen!

Beautiful hotel, and reasonable prices. Very accommodating service. Cosy and old-fashioned atmosphere.
