An amazing experience from start to finish

I chose affinity seven law solicitors because they were recommended to me from the estate agents. At first I was slightly hesitant because the price was low but I decided to go with them anyway. When I heard I'd have a trainee solicitor I knew the experience would either be brilliant or terrible. However, I had no idea just how amazing the experience would be. I agreed the purchase of the sale on 13th June and had completion on 22nd July! Hannan was extremely hard working and thorough with everything. He answered every question I had and communicated every step of the process with me. I cannot recommend Hannan's expertise enough as I would definitely love to use him again should I choose to sell.

Conveyancing of sale & purchase

The whole experience (sale & purchase) was handled very professionally & efficiently, despite problems that arose due to unforeseen circumstances. Hannan was always very approachable & explained things that we didn’t understand at first. He kept us informed of what was happening all the way through & the funds that were returned were immediate. We would recommend Hannan to anyone we knew was moving, & found him to be a credit to your company.

Superb conveyancing

ASL were brilliant from start to finish of my house sale and purchase. I cannot rate them highly enough. They were super efficient, easy to communicate with and expert in guiding me through the complex procedures involved. In particular Luke Hassett (Trainee Licensed Conveyancer) was exceptionally responsive and reliable. He was quick, efficient and I really felt he 'had my back'. I would highly recommend ASL for conveyancing.

To say the service I've received over…

To say the service I've received over the past 6 months (when told it would be sorted in 8 weeks) was 'poor' would be a massive understatement. Very slow from start to finish and I often had to push them along and prompt them to complete basic steps myself. The person assigned to me had appalling communication skills and was at best brusque and at worst rude. That's when he was replying to my emails, the only prompt response I had during the process was when he wanted some extra money that he 'forgot' to include in the original bill that I paid promptly. No care or consideration taken for me the client and I urge anyone to avoid them at all costs. On summary an extremely stressful and frustrating experience.

Would be Zero stars- after spending…

Would be Zero stars- after spending time looking for a solicitor for conveyancing and being upfront that the seller (me) didn’t want to use a solicitor as the property is one I inherited which my son agreed to buy of me and being told this is fine, we decided to opt for this firm. After signing paperwork, paying £300 deposit, and sending in proofs, we got told after 1-month that they decided they don’t want to do the conveyancing and signposting us to financial advisor. Not sure why I or we need financial advisor as surely lots of people inherit their parents property and a grandchild or sibling may buy it off you. Note that probate had been completed on the property and transferred over so this was not an issue. We also had poorly typed info, incorrect address, even the paperwork was sent to an empty house (that was being brought). I’m still waiting for a return of my deposit from this firm. Please be aware they are time wasters- like previous reviewer they don’t read the instructions or any emails otherwise they would know it’s a family property. I have updated this Review as they swiftly returned by money.

Awful communication and overstepped the boundaries.

I am a first time buyer, I asked to proceed with a quote from their firm and they sent over the paperwork.

It was a mess, some very untidy MS Word documents, questions with no space to write answers in, their forms request payment in the form of a cheque with no alternative. Also I some how ended up dealing with two different people via e-mail and having to repeat information to each of them that I'd already passed onto the other.

I e-mailed them shortly after letting them know that I didn't feel comfortable with how non-user friendly the forms were, along with the payment method situation, and that I would be looking elsewhere.

They replied a day later ignoring this and just gave me alternate payment info.

I then reiterated the same day that I would be going with a different firm, thinking that was the end of it.

A month and a half later they call the SELLER, whom I had originally provided the details of. They asked the seller for my number, claiming that I was going to hire them.

Not only was this unprofessional beyond words, it's borderline fraud.

I had already explained twice that I was no longer going with them, the seller let me know about this today and thankfully didn't pass on my number since he has already been dealing with my actual solicitor for the past month.

This is what prompted the 1 star review, just a ridiculous situation.

Very happy with the service I received…

Very happy with the service I received throughout my house buying process. As a first time buyer everything was explained promptly and understandably and all the work was done quickly with no real issues.

Thanks again to Kimberly, Sameera and Hannan, the people I dealt with.

Highly Recommended

I cannot recommend ASL highly enough. They have been efficient and responsive throughout the entire process of selling our home. Mr Waqar Khan, the solicitor acting on our behalf has responded to any queries we have had promptly and helped the whole process to be as stress free as possible.
