They're lucky to get even a 1 star review…

They're lucky to get a 1 star review because if you could give negative stars, that would be maxed out. Was seen for my consult and was told I need to be seen to have a root canal ASAP, they scheduled me as the first patient of the day on March 8th, then 2 days before my appt I get told I need to reschedule because the dentist is ALREADY going to be doing a procedure on another patient. I reschedule for March 29th as the first patient again for the day and now 3 days prior I get told the same thing that the dentist is ALREADY going to be in a procedure and I need to reschedule again!!!! Don't know why Aspen lies about something as simple as scheduling, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!! Get yourself a credible dentist with a credible staff who will honor appts they schedule you for. This is definitely a company you don't want to have any business with or refer friends, family, or your worst enemy to. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS BEST AS YOU CAN!!!!

Wisdom teeth extracted, no one told me anything about additional costs

I wish I read all of the reviews before I came to this horrible dental office. If I could put 0 stars I would! I got all of my wisdom teeth taken out about year ago. Before the procedure was started I spoke to the lady who dealt with all of the billing. She assured me that my insurance would only pay a certain amount and that I can pay the rest via credit card. I've been paying this bill on time every month for a year now. Now they're saying that I OWE them an additional $600! I was never given a phone call, or an email, and no one said anything to me in person when I came for my cleanings! This place only cares about money NOT the patients! I don't recommend coming to this place!

I had a dental cleaning back in Aug of 2024 Morris, Il.

I had a dental cleaning back in Aug of 2024. With insurance fluoride was suppose to be included in PPO plan and they charged me. Then in Feb, I went back for 6 month cleaning also covered and told them if it was not covered, don't give it to me. So they didn't . Then they told me soon that they would have to pull out all my top teeth and give me dentures eventually because I have an old bridge that looks like it is giving out and I said no. I thought dentists were suppose to save your teeth. We can make you a partial but they have a tendency to fall out. Can't you just make me a new bridge. They said yes, so I asked for and estimate. They came back with my insurance of a figure of $4790.00. I said doesn't my insurance cover it. They said they will only pay $44.00 since you don't have same insurance as you did when you got the bridge. I got the bridge in Nov of 2005 which makes it almost 20 yrs old. If I didn't have insurance, is would cost $4853.00 and they were also giving me a benefit discount of $19.00 and deductible of $25.00. I have estimate paper work to prove this. I left went home called Insurance company. They said they never heard of such a thing. My insurance covered 85% and I am entitled to a new bridge every 60 months. That means my bridge should of been a total cost to me of $727.25. If I would not of questioned this, they would have stole all that money from me. I am a senior citizen, 73 yrs. old and feel this is taking advantage of the elderly.
I will never be back there.

Extraction

I had a tooth pulled in NPR Fl..
1. 2nd I was interrogated by a young traveling endodontist he was asking me Q about the tooth in Dental Terms that I did not know whilst I was in serious pain.. and explained that the paperwork was from a Dental Office hours away that helped me out during Christmas holidays.
2. 1st The office staff told me that Endo didn’t need the paperwork.. When I returned for the extraction they lied and said they had called and gotten the paperwork from previous Dental Office. I walked out then walked back in and asked for a copy then someone else said we didn’t receive that.
3. Got the extraction finally done but the extraction was $270 but the bill was $1551
I was billed for a bone graft and guided tissue region.. @ 35% interest rate .. No one seems to be able to explain what these were and whether i received them. I’m do know my gum was sewn up after the extraction
4. The unprofessional office manager called me and decided they nolonger wanted to treat me and left me with a gaping space in my mouth to look for another dentist

Going by the TV commercials

Going by the TV commercials, I went here first to get dentures. The second visit was supposedly to see the Surgeon. They charged me $130 to even go to the appt., left me waiting 2 hours, kept telling me they were coming, and I was supposed to get a call from the office manager with a quote on how much it would be. Needless to say, I never got a call! When I called, no one answered. The Aspen dental at Rt. 10 and Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Chesterfield. Va is collecting money and not giving any services!! They need to quit advertising on TV til they get their offices straight!!

Before scheduling future appointments, check to see if their past are 90 days first before scheduling future appointments

Before scheduling future appointments, make sure they’re not past their 90 days. I wasted my gas going all the way over to the east side and my time and yours!! That was a rude awakening. I didn’t know you only had 90 days to have your dentures,
corrected. I think you need to make customers more aware of that. Haven’t been able to smile since 10 years old because I chipped my front teeth on the side of a swimming pool. Yay pay five grand for a smile that you can’t even use. Thanks I also Unsubscribed no more false alerts!

Aspen pushes unnecessary services, ignores immediate need

I have a regular dentist I see twice a year for a cleaning and checkup. About 2 weeks after a regular visit, a piece of tooth broke off. Unluckily , my dentist had taken time off for 10 days. I went to Aspen, thinking I could at least get a temporary crown until he returned. The experience at Aspen was horrible, from start to finish. First, you have to go and sit there and talk to one of their financial counselors. That person was in the exam room too, which I thought was weird and uncomfortable and said so. Then, they put you through all these unnecessary exams and imaging of your whole mouth, and they are constantly trying to upsell you the entire time on things like blue light to see bacteria, etc. I could hear what was going on in other exam rooms, and they tell everyone they need to have their gums cleaned. I kept saying if I had needed that, my dentist would have told me, and refused to do it. Anyway, they made me set another appointment a week out for the temporary crown, and when I expressed concern about the wait, they told me not to worry, the rest of the tooth would hold until then. That night at home, the rest of that tooth of course fell right out. I left an urgent message at my dentist, and he met at the office the next day, which is what I should have done to begin with. I got a bill from them for the balance after insurance paid long after my date of visit. This place is such a scam.

Much needed dental work

My journey so far with extractions and immediate dentures at the Parkesburg PA Aspen Dental has been stress free. My Dentist, Technicians and front office has been great. I would recommend them to family and friends. So happy with my natural looking dentures!

Asprn Dental of Laurel MD

This dentist office is horrible & I need this to be on record. I have a horrible toothache and came ro them to get ot checked out in January. They discovered I have an active infection in 1 of my teeth. No Antibiotics were prescribed, however they did ask me to come back 2 days later to see their surgeon for a root canal. And that root canal would cost me over $3k and I had no dental insurance at the moment. They also informed me that they have only ONE surgeon who comes to their office once a month. I decided to get insurance so I wouldn't go into debt. By the time I got the insurance, The surgeon was booked for February. I asked them when he was coming in March, they said they didn't know, but would put me on the waiting list. I told them if they don't contact me before the end of February, that I'll be going elsewhere because I have an active infection that they prescribed NO antibiotics for. - March 2nd comes around, still NO CALL. I called them and asked when their ONE Surgeon would be there. They said "They didn't know". I threatened to leave and find a more competent dentist office. They said, "Hold on one sec" and put me on hold. When she came back to the phone, she told me she was able to reach the surgeon and hes coming on March 12th. Since that was 10 days away, she preceded go take my dental insurance info and told me that everything would be $1600+ Instead of over $3k. She asked me to come into the office ASAP so i could work out getting approved for some type of subsidy to pay the rest of my bill. (ALL THIS OFFICE CARES ABOUT IS MONEY) - So i came in yesterday, 3/5. I asked the nurse why NO antibiotics were given to me, she denied that they never gave me any. She completely forgot everything about me. I won't say this woman's name because I truly believe she went out of her way to help me, but the people that run her office are people that don't care much for the African American demographic that dominates the community of Laurel they're located in. I'm not sure if it's a racial issue or a social one. I believe all the doctors here are Asian American. --- Either way she tells me that she can get an antibiotic prescribed for me ASAP. She went to find the doctor and said he ended up leaving early. She then told me that their ONE Specialist that comes ONCE a month, just rescheduled his visit to their office from March 12, to March 20th. Mind you, i have now had an infected tooth in my mouth for nearly 2 months since they 1st found it in my mouth. And the only reason I have had it in my mouth this long...IS BECAUSE THIS IS AN INCOMPETENT DENTIST OFFICE THAT PUTS THE FINANCIAL LANDSCAPE OF THEIR PATIENTS AS THE TOP PRIORITY! Im a business owner with a Wife and 3 children. My insurance isn't the best like it used to be. It's Sad to see offices like this in our community that Prioritize Financial Class before the Urgent health care needs of the People of the community that they're supposed to serve. - IF YOU DONT MAKE A SIX FIGURE SALARY...DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL OF LAUREL, MD.

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Aspen Dental in Olean was nothing short of a complete waste of time and an obvious money grab.

I originally scheduled an appointment months ago to have a filling replaced. The soonest they could get me in was six weeks out, which was frustrating but understandable. However, two weeks before my appointment, they canceled on me. I rescheduled—this time for two fillings—and waited another three weeks for that appointment.

When I finally arrived, the hygienist informed me they would only be doing ONE filling—something they conveniently failed to mention when I made the appointment. I explained that I needed both fillings replaced, and they were right next to each other. She left the room, came back, and took an unnecessary X-ray, which felt like a stall tactic.

Then the dentist came in and, instead of actually doing his job, asked which “area” I’d like him to look at today. I repeated that I needed both fillings replaced, and he flat-out refused, stating they only look at one area per visit—and worse, he wasn’t going to fix anything that day. Just “look.”

At that point, I got up and walked out.

This place is running a complete racket. It’s not about the money—I have excellent insurance that covers everything 100%. It’s about the principle and their total disregard for my time and comfort just to maximize their profits. They intentionally drag out treatment to squeeze more out of insurance companies and waste patients’ time in the process.

Avoid this place at all costs. Go to a real dentist who actually values their patients instead of treating them like a paycheck.

Run from this company fast as you can!

Run from this company fast as you can!
Horrible customer service, worse than horrible work, outrageous prices and materials used are the cheapest imaginable. I’ve been fighting with them for 2 years! I complained to the attorney General and the response Aspen sent to them regarding my complaint was all lies! They never even billed my dental insurance for which they were a preferred provider at the time I’m assuming because they know they removed several healthy teeth

I had given up on getting anything done…

I had given up on getting anything done about my dentures made by this company. The original dentures were made in September 2022. Then last week I got an email from Aspen Dental saying "it is time for an upgrade." It just struck me wrong that they had the nerve to send me an email after the experience I had with them., The following is the email I sent to Aspen Corporate in response. The reason I am posting this now is the experience I had today 02/26/2025 with the Kernersville office of Aspen Dental. That is described following the email.

To Whom It May Concern:

When I got my original dentures from the Kernersville NC location, I told them the day I got them they do not fit. They were actually choking me and my mouth did not close correctly. Their response was "wear them you will get use to them." A month later, as I knew they would due to the poor fit, they broke. I went back and they fixed them or made a new lower plate from the original mold, I don't know which. When I picked them up, I again told them they do not fit they are too big. Again, "wear them you'll get use to them." I did as they said for another month, and they broke again! Since Aspen Dental did not seem to really care I said the hell with them and have been wearing the temporary one's ever since.

I just want you to know, 4 people have asked my opinion of your company all four have got dentures or implants elsewhere. I will at every opportunity steer potential clients away from your business. My response to them: "Poor quality, poor customer service, we got your money we don't care attitude." Is exactly what I tell everyone that makes an inquiry of me regarding your company. Based on what I paid $10500 +/- that is $42,000 and probably more as 3 of those non referrals got implants done.

02/26/2025
I received a call from the Aspen Dental location in Kernersville, NC today regarding my email. I guess corporate forwarded it to the local office. They invited me to come in for an "exam" and to determine what to do about a proper fit. I told them that was fine, but I would not pay for any of this process. The young lady I spoke with , who was very cordial, said she would talk to the dentist about the charges and would call me back. As she promised, she called me earlier this evening and said the dentist would do an adjustment free but I would have to pay for a new plate. The original plate broke twice in 2 months and as I said in the email their non caring attitude had turned me completed off and I was not willing to waste anymore of my time on poor quality and "we got your money we don't care attitude." Now they want more money to fix their poor workmanship. Not happening! STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. May note as of the writing of this review, there are, according to Trustpilot, 775 reviews of this company 85% of them are 1 star! Should tell you something about them. One more thing. I just spot checked 4 pages of the 1 Star reviews. Not a single one has a comment form either Aspen Corporate or a local office, none, not one. I do believe this just proves my comment, "we got your money we don't care."
Update:03/06/2025
I received a call on 02/27/2025 at 12:24PM from the same lady that I had already spoken to 2 times. She left a message for me to call them back. I purposely have not returned that call just to see if they would try to make contact with me again. They have not! Proves my points "we got your money, we don't care."
Update 05/04/2025
Still no contact!

Made to feel like an inconvenience, then taken advantage of.

Went for my first appointment and "free" x-rays. All went well until the "dentist" got to check my teeth and shoved fingers into my mouth, poked as if he really disliked his job, stepped back said they could do partials or complete dentures & what did I want.

When I stepped out, feeling humiliated, the "accounting" person ran the "estimates" for each, partial & complete & slapped me with 2 estimates in the multiple thousands!

When I reviewed the line items, they were charging me almost $500 per extraction, plus several "electric toothbrushes" at prime cost each and various other dental-related paraphernalia that someone with no teeth had no use for.

Needless to say, I didn't go back seeing the thievery on the printed estimates.

A year later, I got a bill for the x-rays because they claimed my insurance wouldn't cover the cost! So I contacted my insurance company, explained the particulars and they called Aspen directly with me on the line. Aspen said that I wasn't covered for ANY of the services at the time and my insurance rep assured the woman at Aspen that indeed, I was completely covered and then questioned the "free x-rays" claim Aspen makes.

The Aspen rep said "That's only if the patient completes the treatment with us."

I was given the chance to read aloud, some of the line items that Aspen wanted to charge and the insurance rep questioned each one. The Aspen rep responded "That's the decision of the dentist." for each one and then said "Our records indicate that the patient wasn't qualified for insurance."

My insurance rep was firm when she said "I assure you, he WAS covered AND qualified for coverage of services. I have his records right in front of me. What I don't have is a claim from your office. Did you even bother to submit one?"

Come to find out, Aspen did NOT bother to file a claim for x-rays or any treatment, instead, they waited a year and then billed me directly. Had I not had the wits to contact the insurance company I would have had to pay almost $200 AND had I pursued treatment, my insurance company would have been billed for unnecessary accessories, not to mention $500 extractions!

I've since visited other dentists who've evaluated my dental needs. The most expensive extraction, $280. Partials came in at less than half the costs of Aspen as did complete dentures.

They're really NOT to be trusted and insurance companies ought to be made aware of over-charges. I stop short of using the term "fraud" but...

Be advised and beware.

Terrible customer service

I went to aspen the first time 6 months ago, it was an ok experience. At that time I made my 6 month appointment with them, fast forward to the day before my appointment and they call and email me saying that they had to cancel my appointment! I finially got to speak with someone and they said I could come in at a later time, so I agreed, then I receive another email confirming my original appointment time! So I called them, and the phone just rang and rang until I got a message that no one was available to take my call. I didn't go to the appointment sense they appeared to not know themselves what time it was actually for!
