Outstanding experience. Car delivered to our rented flat in Athens and collected from departure drop off at Athens airport with no hanging about or fuss. Vehicle near new and problem free. Friendly and efficient in every way. The multinational companies charge more for less.

We had a very good experience with ACR throughout - speedy and helpful email communication; pick up and drop off to suit our needs; flexibility over timing; a choice between two cars, both good, but one with more luggage space which we needed; and finally willingness to help us with a problem that was nothing to do with the car. All round friendly and professional service at reasonable cost.

After looking in the jungle of famous car rentals and browsing for tons of offers starting with a small price and ending with incomprehensive insurance asset at high prices, we have contacted ACR for 11 days car rental for our holidays. We had immediately a coherent price, with a comprehensive insurance offer, we have selected most covered asset to be mind-free, real availability and a serious managed communication to proceed with the booking and understand well some details. Arrived in Athens Airport we had a great service on pickup and a great service on give back. The car was a new Nissan Micra, very clean and comfortable. We have forgotten the smartphone car support on the car and we hope to make next driver happy, we are happy to made our mind-free holidays around Greece. Thanks ACR! I had no problems at all even though my card wouldn't go through their website. I always booked through emails and they always reply soon and with professionalism.

Every time I visit Greece it's always going to be them. Prices are exact same as Hertz and all the other companies too.

We went to Greece in May and used ACR. I have to say that they were easily the best rental company we've dealt with overseas. They went above and beyond to help us. We highly recommend ACR to everyone who visits Athens.

ACR were really efficient and friendly. The online booking was very straightforward. We were greeted at the airport with a friendly Athens Car Rental representative who was very helpful. The vehicle was in excellent condition , the formalities were swift and clearly documented. The 7 days rental was one of the most good value we found. I would definitely use the company again. Would highly recommended.

I am very disappointed about 10€ extra fee for checking out with 3/8 instead of 4/8 gasoline...
Filling the car with full gasoline before customer's check-in will avoid this customer’s disappointment in the future. As far as remember customers don’t get pay back if they check out the car with 5/8 instead of 4/8, do they ?

Else, it’s simply impossible to find the company employee at the airport without giving a call at the main office, since there is no desk at the airport... Check-in an check-out is done directly on the terminal droping area, with the car parked in double lane on the road, with warnings on...Employee neither carry a billboard with the company name nor a specific outfit to make them easy to find.

For that reason, I would not recommend ACR for car rentals.

Have a wonderful experience with Athens Car Rental 5/2019. Highly recommend!!!!!

We were travelling around the Peloponese and Mani for nearly a month in May 2019 so we hired a car from ACR for 25 days.

We’re always nervous hiring a car from a less well known hire company but we can not recommend them enough.

We landed at Athens Airport to be met in the arrivals hall, as arranged, by 2 gentleman where we finalised the paperwork. We paid cash and they took a rub of our credit card in case of any damage to the car on our return (this is very normal).

We were then taken out to the hire car where they spent time going around pointing out any scratches/dents and then went over any controls that were in the car. Gave us directions and were very helpful.

The car itself was in very good condition and we had no problems at all with it.

We arranged a time to meet at the airport for the return drop off. We telephoned them approx an hour before we got there as we were earlier than planned.

It was no problem for them. A gentleman was waiting for us outside the departures hall as promised where we went around the car again noting any scratches/dents etc. There was no additional damage so no additional charges.

We found them to be very helpful. Prompt email replies and correspondence from start to finish. They spoke very good English.

It was nice that the price that they quoted was the price that you actually paid! No hidden costs and no hard sell, so much better than other (well known) car hire companies...they could learn a thing or two from ACR!!!

Would we recommend? Absolutely. We would certainly use them again if we were visiting the area.

i had to change both my flight times and type of car twice....communication with Athens car rental was both quick and precise via email and my changes where no problem at all, a young man was waiting for me at the airport and the vehicle was brand new and mint. some might find the discount for cash a bit odd but i have come to learn that's just how the Greeks roll (i was given 10% discount if i paid cash in a supermarket!!). I returned the car after 10 days and returned to London, my deposit was back in my account in a week. very good company, highly recommend.

Brilliant service, very quick and friendly email communication, amazing English spoken. I changed the details of my pick up time and place about three times (sorry guys) and the team in the office didn't bat an eyelid, they were so helpful. Dropped the car in town for us at the end of our stay in Athens (we were going to Pelopponese) and DROVE US OUT OF THE CENTRE as they said it was too stressful for anyone other than Athenians to get out when there was a bike marathon happening. Really above and beyond the call of duty. Drop off at the airport was completely stress free and quick. Best car rental we've ever had.

We used Athens Car Rental for a recent holiday to Athens and Kea - although we have in the past stuck with the big international brands (Avis, Enterprise etc), we had finally got fed up of their underhand, rip off tactics. ACR couldn’t be further from this, and we were delighted with the experience from start to finish. Easy to book, instructions for pickup were very clear - they met us at arrivals with a name board, took us straight to the car (which was waiting outside the terminal). Quick bit of paperwork (they made sure to note any damage, unlike the tricks that Avis will often try to pull) and sent us on our way. Car was in good shape, clean and everything worked. Drop off was also super easy - just drove to departures, they met us there, checked the car and we were done very quickly.
In short, we’d absolutely recommend going with ACR - they clearly valued our business, and did a great job delivering. Don’t give your custom to the large rental companies, when there’s a great, local firm that will appreciate your business much more (and treat you with respect!). Thank you!

A very good experience with Athens Car Rental. Excellent communication with the their man in the office, Panos Bakalakis, when booking the car. I pre-paid by international bank transfer before arrival so I wouldn't need to hand over cash when I was met which wasn't a problem for them. I also had to add an extra day onto my booking before arrival, due to a flight change, and this also wasn't an issue, I only had to pay for the extra day which was anticipated. We were met, as agreed, at Athens Airport arrivals where we carried out the paperwork and the car was a short walk to the short-term car park. Their agent even offered to carry some of our luggage! The car wasn't exactly what I was expecting (I thought I'd booked an estate but got a saloon) and to be honest I didn't even raise it with them since I wasn't that bothered. The car was a basic Peugeot with 50k kms on the clock. I don't think their cars are brand new like other car hire companies but that wasn't an issue since you don't pay the rates that come with brand new cars. It was clean, outside and in, and in excellent condition. The only mod-con it came with was air conditioning which was used often. Returned the car after two weeks and was met at the airport departures area, very handy, at the agreed time. A quick check over the car by their agent and all was well so everyone happy. I didn't get any pressure you might experience from less scrupulous car hire companies who create blemishes or dings that they want to charge for, the stuff that gives the car hire trade such a bad rep. To be fair, I'd been religious about looking after the car when I had it so there wasn't anything to 'discuss' at the hand-over.
In summary, I found them the best value to be found in Athens. Great service, good communication, no added 'sales pressure' and therefore I'd be happy to recommend them and also use them again.

Athens Car Rental is great: professional, good value for money, friendly and quick (concerning paperwork and take-over).
The price included diesel with an amazing torque, full insurance, additional driver, unlimited km/day (that made '1500km in 5 days' possible),car was small enough to go over steep, narrow mountain passages and through narrowest streets of Greek cities and it included all the basic equipment (air conditioning, firs aid kit...)

I strongly recommend the ACR, if you are planning a road trip across Greece :)
