Fantastic stay at the Atrium Prestige
My husband and I recently returned from a 6-night vacation at the Atrium Prestige hotel in Rhodes.
We made our decision based on reading customer reviews and we can honestly say we were not disappointed.
The Prestige, which is the No.1 hotel in Rhodes, was most definitely A* in many areas including their customer service. During our stay, (except for the negative interactions at breakfast with the chef who makes omelettes, whom we found rude), the interaction we had with staff, i.e., reception, cleaners, bar and restaurant staff, as well as the site Manager, Mr Alexanderos: who swiftly assisted us with an aircon issue, reflected that good customer service is the heartbeat of the Atrium Prestige. The restaurant staff were welcoming and accommodating and would often times give us their recommendations. We were exceptionally impressed with supervisor, Jani's, service - who oversees the Prestigo, The Grill and Larnachia restaurants. I must also say that my husband and I do love a good cup of coffee so we were highly disappointed when the coffee at breakfast did not meet our expectation. In addition, the breakfast pastries seemed to lack the freshness and flakiness we have become accustomed to love from other 5* star hotels (presumably, they were not baked on site), so we decided to leave them alone. The breakfast and lunch buffet was our least favourite dining experience, (we spotted a couple of large green flies landing on food which also put us off). After two mornings getting up for breakfast we decided it was not meeting our expectations so opted for the extra time laying in instead.
The resort is extremely stunning, and the rest of the food on the resort was amazing. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food and the Atrium App which was simply fantastic and so convenient to order food and drink delivered straight to you while you relaxed at the beach or poolside.
The beach is very pebblely and by day two we were really struggling and had to resort to buying the protective footwear. These were reasonably priced at the resorts shop and helped us dramatically to enjoy our time at the beach and plus we now have them for our future holidays.
One critique we both shared is having to sign slips for every order of food and drink. We have never experienced this before and found it annoying. It would be good if the hotel could review this as it felt like this was primarily about tipping more than anything else. As PAI customers, we lost count of the numerous slips which were presented to us for signing, and below the signature was a section for a tip. On one occasion, during one sitting we were presented with several slips, which sat piled up. We found this quite ridiculous. As mentioned above, the customer service we received was excellent, however, we chose not to tip constantly throughout the vacation, but at the end of our stay we chose a couple of staff members to tip and thank individually.
On the last day of our stay as we were checking later that evening, being PAI customers, we were presented with vouchers for food and drinks. Additonally, our requeat for a late complimentary late check was honoured along with a room where we were able to shower before leaving the resort. This was a great gesture, and again a reflection of the superb service received from the top down. The Prestige certainly knows how to make their customers happy. While it does cost a pretty penny to stay here, it was well worth it. We can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed our time and would highly recommend staying here. We hopefully, will be returning soon.
