Questionable Business Practices
I purchased a pre-owned 2016 Range Rover Sport from Audi of Westmont in March 2025. Initially, I was very pleased with the overall sales and service experience. In fact, I felt confident enough to refer a relative to the dealership, and they also purchased a pre-owned 2017 Range Rover Sport.
Unfortunately, my perception changed significantly within the first six months of ownership. Despite the dealership advertising a “125-point inspection” process for its pre-owned vehicles, I experienced several serious issues that raise concerns about how thorough that inspection truly is. These included dangerously low engine oil levels (with no visible leak), battery problems, and heating system malfunctions. These are not minor cosmetic concerns — they are mechanical issues that should reasonably be identified and addressed during a comprehensive inspection process.
Additionally, my referral also encountered mechanical problems. We were informed that certain repairs had been completed under the three-month warranty period, yet it later appeared that the work either was not properly performed or not performed at all. That experience further called into question the dealership’s transparency and follow-through.
After researching more about the service department’s history, I found multiple consumer complaints alleging misleading sales and service practices, lack of disclosure of known mechanical issues, and questionable inspection standards. Based on my experience, I believe prospective buyers should exercise caution and perform their own due diligence before relying solely on the dealership’s inspection claims.
I truly wanted this to be a positive, long-term relationship with this dealership. However, given the mechanical issues and concerns surrounding the integrity of the inspection process, I feel obligated to share my experience so others can make informed decisions.
Buyer beware.
