Dispatch took 3 business days when they guarantee it only takes 2 max.
I placed an order for a couple of items on Friday morning and paid for express postage. Shortly after placing the order, I called to ask if same-day dispatch was possible. I was told over the phone that this was definitely achievable and that I would be contacted with an update. I never received that follow-up.
By Tuesday, which was two full business days later, I still hadn't received any confirmation that my order had been dispatched. I called again and was told that my items would be sent out and picked up by Australia Post that evening. A tracking number was generated that night, but no pick-up scan occurred.
It was not until Wednesday evening that the package was actually scanned as picked up by Australia Post. This suggests that the order was not handed over to them until then, which was three business days after my original purchase. The company’s website states that orders are dispatched within one to two business days.
I work in eCommerce myself, so I understand that delays can happen. However, generating a shipping label and claiming the item has been dispatched when it has not left the premises is misleading. It shifts responsibility onto the courier, rather than acknowledging a delay in dispatch. This feels like an intentional way to avoid accountability.
As someone who paid extra for express shipping, I expected my order to be prioritised. The handling of my order did not match what was communicated by their website (max 2 business days dispatch) or implied.
In the end, I paid for express shipping but waited three full business days before my order was even sent out. If I had known this would happen, I would not have paid extra, since the express option made no difference in the timeframe.
Communication with the customers is key with an online business like this, and I feel like the communication with my order was lacking and purposefully misleading. I hope that the company can take this review on board constructively and can improve their communication with the customers if there's going to be unforeseen delays in dispatching items, especially for those who have paid the extra price for express.
The actual items I purchased were good quality and the pricing was more than reasonable though, so props to them in this department. It is for this reason why I will give 2 out of 5 stars.
