Smart Care

When I purchased my new car in May 2019, from a franchise dealer who also sold me a (£399) Auto Assure Smart Care package which covers incidental damage to the bodywork, wheels and interior. I recently contacted them regarding a stone chip on the leading edge of my cars bonnet which should fall within their eligibility criteria. They at first refused to carry out the repair, when I retorted stating my contract was with the supplying dealer and not them, so I will have to take it up with them, they then said they could “touch it in but it will be no better than I could do myself”. I brought this to the attention of the main dealer who sold me this policy. The informed me that they had received a number of complaints from customers who had similar experiences and that they no longer deal with this company. They are going to carry out the repair themselves at no cost to me

After many frustrating calls including being treated quite rudely by customer service, I finally was able to speak with John Jr, who took the time to listen to my issue, he was very friendly and helpful. I appreciate great customer service and he was excellent at that. Thank you John Jr for all your help with my problem in such a difficult time for me.

Their warranties are not worth the paper they are written on. They try to get you to independently access your car, which costs a couple of hundred, before they will consider your statutory rights under Trading Standards Law. They then will not give you any help. The customer Service is non existent. The warranty made good toilet paper however.

AVOID !!! not recovering costs at all

I bought a car over a year ago and bought standard cover with autoassure, eventually I had my alternator faulty, had to to change it because it was squeaking and rattling, so just matter of the time when it will brake down completely. So I did ring AUTOASSURE fisrt to confirm that my cars broken part is covered and they confirmed! however they only working with a HALFORDS ,I rang them, but they only could take my car after 5 days,I need car so couldn't wait that long for it to break down completely, so I did change it at Mr Cluch garage with final costs of £372, as we can do that , but we need to make more calls as usually I guess... and GUESS WHAT !!!! I did ring them again as they need to speak with garage that is fixing , asked them a few questions and then I was again talking with them and they said AUTOASSURE WILL NOW COVER ANY COSTS , because mechanical problem is not what they cover ... what !?!?!? Alternator is one part!!! that is in my cover!!! but alternator bearing/cluch mechanism is not !!!! what on earth is that ?!!!?!!! I tried to contact customer service but they are useless , they don't know anything and I need to speak with claim department, but claim department keep saying that is not covered.... AVOID !!!! Don't make my mistake !!!

Autoassure.co.uk makes it as hard as possible to claim back your money.

Autoassure.co.uk makes it as hard as possible to claim back your money.

Autoassure.co.uk seem to be very inconsistent with there negotiation on repairing the car they insure under there warranty, I was informed by the garage that Autoassure.co.uk would pay for the replacement part on the car, but not for some of the installation on the part being replaced, which left me to pay 50% of the invoice, I had to pay the invoice in full, and on top of that, when you do make a claim you have to send in the original invoice back to the company by post to to receive your refund, they will not allow you to send a copy of the invoice by email?

This is clearly a stall tactic to make payments to customers. To make things worse, Autoassure.co.uk agreed and issued the work to be done on the car, so they have full detail on the repair carried out, and how much it cost to fix the car in the first place.

Would not use this company again.
