Edgar at the Bastrop Texas location

Edgar at the Bastrop Texas site was great! I had a battery that died less than a year after replacing it with a warranty replacement last year. Edgar noted that the battery was no longer under warranty and I would need to purchase a new one. I notified him that the battery I was given last year, was the wrong battery, but the staff could not correct it in the system, so I was forced to take it. Edgar not only managed to correct the issue with the battery size, he gave me a new battery without charge due to the incorrect battery being given to me. Great job Edgar, I'm a faithful AutoZone customer for this reason, great customer service!!

I stopped by the East Broad Street Auto…

I stopped by the East Broad Street Auto Zone in Pataskala to inquire about a battery. I was waited on by Steven Frye III, what a pleasure I must say. Steven was very knowledgeable and took the time to research which battery would be the right one for my vehicle. I was so impressed with Steven I wanted to pass on to his superior what an asset he is to Auto Zone. It was the weekend so when I called to share this information, I was sure I would be leaving a voicemail, who is available on the weekend especially management over their employees right? Wrong... I was totally amazed that Fredrick Watson answered my phone call on the first ring! Not only is Steven an amazing employee and asset, Fredrick is amazing and an asset to Auto Zone as well!! Keep up the great work gentlemen. This is exactly why my family and I shop at Auto Zone and will continue to do so.
This is a true testament to why we do!!

Battery bummer

I purchased a car battery in January, 2024, with a 3 year guarantee, in Portland, Oregon. It failed in May, 2024. I returned it with proof of purchase for a replacement. The young man at the counter insisted that I must also furnish my phone number. I had not given them my phone at the time of purchase. He was demanding and refused to honor their guarantee. I had to buy a $130 battery elsewhere.

Placed an order online and had planned…

Placed an order online and had planned on just picking up my order from my local store. Noticed an option for free, next day delivery. Figured that sounded pretty convenient, since I am a pretty busy person. I needed these parts by Friday so I could use my vehicle for a trip over the weekend. It’s Sunday now, canceled my trip, still no parts. Absolutely UNEXCEPTIONABLE!!!!! Don’t advertise something you can not follow through with! Never again will I give Autozone another cent of my money!!!!

Avoid business with this company

Avoid business with this company. They are extremely unprofessional.
I paid $12 for next day delivery of an a/c compressor 10:30 am to my home as they gave me the option of home/store delivery. I called once no delivery was made and they claim home delivery is not available, and I will get it on Monday.
I would give zero star but that option is unavailable.

Very Pleasant Experience

I Went to the Autozone at 6704 N, 2nd St. in Loves Park, IL looking for a starter for my 1967 Chevy Camaro. I have been having trouble getting the right starter because it's a Crate Motor not the original engine. Meet one of the employees at this address named Douglas that was Very Knowledgeable, Professional, and Extremely Helpful. I would like to Commend Douglas for his Courteous Service. Thank You Very Much.

NO REFUND.

NO REFUND.
NO REFUND.
I ordered a while ago, and my dad went in the store to return my items, since I didn't need them anymore. The store workers asked him for a barcode, but I scrolled through all my Autozone emails, including order confirmation, and there was no barcode. They were very curt, rude, and rushed to him, and would only give us store credit.
I didn't delete any emails, so they didn't send a barcode to begin with. They likely do this to force customers to continue shopping here (refund vs store credit).
I do not plan on shopping here again. There are literally always other places to buy sandpaper and car paint. The market is too competitive to be pulling sneaky BS like this.

Working hard to get it wrong

Paid for my purchase on the 5th, a shipment to someone else arrived on the 11th, quoted the 7th at checkout. I immediately contacted customer service, it took 24 hours to get a response. They were not interested in getting me the correct parts, their focus was only on getting the incorrect parts back to them. It took me 5 days to get a return label for the incorrect shipment. (I'm still waiting to see if they will ship my package)
Autozone was not willing to correct their shipping mistake and customer service seams designed to make the process more difficult.
25 years of loyalty properly rewarded

Don't go here

Don't go here. My experience started 5 months ago. I needed a new battery. Went and placed it, ensured there was a warranty and drove away happy. Cut to this week. I go out to start my car. Nothing. Completely dead. I get a jump, it starts right away. I drive to this store and I was told that they would need to test the battery to make sure it was ok. They tested it but I was not allowed to see what the test said. They denied it was the battery and told me it could be my alternator. So I bring it home, have my son (a mechanic mind you) replace my alternator, and assume I'm good. I had an appointment at my dealer for an oil change (I still get them for free) so I asked them to check it when I brought it in to ensure my battery and starter was ok. Half hour later? they tell me the battery is completely dead. So dead they can't even tell if it is the starter. They give me that, in writing, so I head back to the store to get it replaced, thinking well now two people have told me it's the battery so they have to honor their warranty, Right?!

I arrive at the store. Another gentleman parked next to me, in a brand new car, is also asking about his battery. They refuse him a new one as well. I try to enter the store, following the salesman who was testing this gentleman's car. He dropped the door on me. I stand in line and get the next person, not this man, and tell him my problem. Before the words come out of my mouth, this man broke into our conversation and told me we'd have to test it first. Several times. I called out his rudeness but he proceeded, while he was "helping" his own customer (he left angry too). He then again tests my dead battery and again says it's good, without showing me. Tells me he won't replace my warrantee part like it was coming out of his pay. He was the most disagreeable man I've ever encountered.

So now I hear I sit, out of $259 because this store won't honor their warranties. The man next to me was about as happy with this news as I was and he left angry too. I could almost tolerate this if it wasn't also for the complete lack of respect I was shown. I don't need to be treated like a princess, but raising your voice to me in a store where you are employed is just plain outrageous. If anyone is wondering, this man's name I did not obtain but he looks like if Meatloaf had a baby with Skeletor. Avoid him at all costs. He does not deserve to have a job with his complete and utter lack of customer service.

So, do not go here, especially as a woman, or you will be talked down to like you know nothing, even when you are correct and have paperwork to verify it. I will never enter this store again and I urge everyone to do the same. I will mention that the man I encountered the first time was nice, and the other man who tried to help me today was lovely. But this guy? Deserves to be fired.

Autozone Store #1283

I usually don't leave reviews, but I have to give credit to those who deserve it. I just left AutoZone (1283) and received help from Thamari (spell check). He not only looked at what I was dealing with but jumped in to help me right away and knew exactly what needed to be done in getting my problem resolved. Such a great young man willing to help me out with my car needs. He and everyone that was there was so polite, respectful, professional and willing to help out. I haven't received such care and attention to detail like that as a customer in a long time and in these crazy times it's most appreciated, welcomed and what we need more of. To this young man and the others in the store please keep doing what you are doing we need more people like you.

At least TRY to keep online stock up to date!

The guys in the store are nice enough, but the absurdity of having employees in Tampa that speak no English at all and expect me to speak Spanish is counter-productive and insulting. I certainly wouldn't move to Mexico City, San Juan, or Madrid and expect everyone to speak English...
The company as a whole is pathetic, this is far from the first time I've wasted at least half a day making sure the website says the exact product I need is in stock in the store I'm going to, ordering it, then going there and guess what? Surprise surprise - IT'S NOT IN STOCK!

Above and beyond

The manager of our Western Avenue, Chillicothe store, Elijah Bailey, went out of his way to give extra service for an defective battery. In addition to a replacement for the one which was under warranty, Mr. Bailey drove to where the car was and installed the new battery himself without charge. Excellent service with a smile!

work anywhere but here,,and here's why....

My father couldn't stand to be retired, so he went back to work. He worked for 2 automotive sales stores until they both went out of business. At 60 yrs old he then went to work for auto zone, and worked there for over 20 yrs. His whole life was devoted to anything related to autos. So it's no surprise that he had devoted customers that would ONLY deal with him. And how does auto zone "reward" such employees? Well in June of 2022, after working his 11.5hr shift, my 80 year old father had a heart attack at the end of shift and passed away 12 hours later. Why is auto zone a terrible place to work for??? Well try getting the employee benefits after the employee passes away. It should be routine and a simple process...meanwhile, over 23 phone calls, and more hours than that, to corporate customer service, no response from email sent to the CEO/William C. Rhodes III and the HR rep/Carmen S. who's job it is to work with benefits, tells me" I tried, I don't know what else to do"...I'm sitting waiting for her to continue and she says nothing..and then she sends me some other employees personal info and doesn't return my call or emails... I HAD TO SCREAM AT EMPLOYEES to get them to do anything, including the employees at the store end of it (Shorewood)...IT TOOK ALMOST A MONTH TO GET MY FATHER'S BENEFITS!!! My father had no pension left, no savings or life insurance. So SINCE I'm disabled and had no money of my own to spare, MY Father sat on ice in the morgue til I could get the benefits/money for his cremation from Auto Zone almost a month later... Its supposed to only take 3 days!!!!...It took me this long to post because I'm still disgusted with this company. So bottom line, if your heart and soul is with working with automotive equipment or sales...apply for a job at O'reilly or advance auto parts!!..ANYWHERE ELSE BUT AUTO ZONE!!!..why work for an employer that shows nothing but disrespect, negligence and unprofessional behavior among, HR, corporate as well as to ALL their employees. They just don't care about their employees at all !!!!! just heartbreaking and disgusting. and then they state that your review must be within the last 12 months...they wouldnt have wanted to hear what I had to truly say back when this happened.
