Like everybody else here I regret not reading the reviews prior to ordering.
I could identify only a couple of positives:
- the choice of products is very large
- most cheese and yoghurt are good quality
The negatives are plenty:
- the website is cheaply made making it difficult to navigate, find details about products or build up a basket that doesn't delete your items in a few hours
- most of the explanations are written in Turkish so unless you are one of their own then you won't understand anything
- I was called 5 times by one of their members of team and when I finally got the call I was told in a very broken English that they wanted to replace an item they didn't have. I agreed with that but was very difficult to understand so couldn't tell what I was going to receive
- the delivery box had a note stating "Deliver today" on it but arrived 5days later. They use DHL and there was no way to get in touch with them and find why and where the parcel was
- considering the delivery took 5days, all the frozen products were ruined and turned into a paste
- the 'baked on the day' products were of course stale by the time they arrived
- I left them a message through their website and was completely ignored. I did not ask for a refund but an acknowledgment would've showed at least minimum respect towards customers
- some of the products I ordered had questionable quality, for example the baklavas were cheaply made

I used this place few times last time was beginning of the year after a bad experience I stopped using them but I wanted to give them another chance but they haven't improved theirselves a bit.
They have sent me 2 wrong products when I asked for refund for wrong irm they were asking me to destroy food and record it and send it to them. What kind of joke is that?
They use dhl for deliveries which never deliveries next day and all cold products getting ruined.
Never again.

My order included frozen products. However, when the package arrived, the items had thawed and were leaking. Additionally, the packaging of the simit I ordered was torn.
When I contacted the company about this issue, I was told that they do not guarantee frozen delivery for frozen items. As for the simit, they said they would initiate a return process and get back to me, but I never received any follow-up.
I also did some research on their website regarding the frozen delivery policy. There is no information about this during the product selection, at checkout, in the delivery information section, or even in the return policy. Apparently, this important detail is hidden in an unrelated section of the website, which is unreasonable—customers should not be expected to dig through the website to find such critical information.
If a company sells frozen food, it should be delivered in a properly frozen condition or at the very least, customers should be clearly informed about any limitations during the purchase process.
This experience was highly disappointing, and I will not be using their services again.
Very bad experience with Bakkalim UK – missing and broken items, no proper refund
I’ve been ordering from Bakkalim UK for a long time since I moved to the UK. Sometimes they sent wrong brands or missed small items, but I didn’t complain because they were only worth a few pounds. But my last order was a big disappointment.
They shipped my order with DHL. When I opened the box, there was a strong pickle smell. One jar of pickles was missing, and the jam jar was broken. It looked okay outside, but when I opened it, jam spilled everywhere. Fragile items like biscuits were placed at the bottom of the box, which was very careless.
I contacted them through WhatsApp. They asked me if I had a video of opening the box — which I didn’t, because who normally records that? I told them they charged me for items I didn’t receive. They blamed DHL and said the packaging was changed during transport. But I paid Bakkalim, not DHL — they are responsible.
They said they would investigate and refund me. After 10 days, nothing happened. I contacted them again, and they said the money was sent. I checked my account — nothing. Then they said their IT team would fix it manually. Still, no refund.
They took my money, didn’t deliver everything, and then wasted my time with excuses. It feels like they think customers are stupid. I will never buy from them again, and I don’t recommend anyone else to trust them.

I placed my order on Saturday with bakkalim and because was weekend did not taken to account till Monday which is very understandable. On Monday i received e-mail saying that was collected by DHL and will be delivered next day. On Tuesday i received e-mail saying will be delivered between 17:16-18:16 and i didn’t contact bakkalim regarding my order before 16:00 due to delivery time and las minute my order got cancelled and wednesday morning received e-mail saying that will be delivered by noon time. All my fridge items and frozen items were delivered in a room temperature and when i made complaint they told me that i didn’t contact them on the delivery day and they wouldn’t return any money except only one product as they can’t quarantee that will be delivered frozen. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone and don’t have high expectations.

They don't refund. Sometimes they don't respond. Sometimes they send emojis while talking on the ridiculous WhatsApp application.
They sent bug-infested rice and don’t refund money!
They sent bug-infested rice. I sent them my request for a refund together with the video recording of the product and they shipped the same product again without informing me. I again informed them that I did not want this buggy product and wanted a refund.
First they made up something called "return limit". A £20 product was over the return limit!
I said them this is nonsense and reiterated that I wanted to use my right to return.
This time they started to say "legal procedure" to everything for getting away. They do this only to deter people who do not know their legal rights.
I was also told to destroy the product and record a video. I supposed to put it in a bag and pour washing-up liquid over it. What a procedure! Isn't that scientific?!!!
All this is just a way to deter people!
A company that deliberately gives false information to its customers in order not to refund money. Don't buy from them! They are trying to make money by lying and selling defective products!
Terrible experience
Like many people here, I am kicking myself for not reading the reviews now before placing my order. They refunded my money after deducting the shipping fee for the product they couldn't deliver because it was out of stock. Their customer service is terrible. if you want healthy mental, must’nt shop with them even if they give it away for free.
Legal procedure :)
One of the most ridiculous companies I shop with. They sent 25 pieces of products I bought in one go with two separate parcels with the same company on different days. The second parcel was damaged. I sent this to them with photos and videos. Then they said there was something called the destruction procedure. And they asked me to do ridiculous things to ensure the return of five trousers. When he asked why, he said it was a legal procedure. When I asked for a document of this legal procedure, they said that there was a secret agreement between them and the cargo company. I do not recommend shopping
