Scratching backs...
I was assigned to have my "activation to the Danish labour" here. I was thrilled, the company has a high rating on Trust Pilot, my job consultant from the Municipality mentioned that companies providing this service are experienced recruiters, they have a network among companies, have more time for each person, can give more attention. Going into the activation seemed like finally getting back to the labour market. What a surprise! On a slow day there are more than 30 people sitting in a lobby room, (re) writing own CV for 3 hours. Plus those sitting in a workshop on how to use your network. If you register for a whole day, it may be 6 hours editing your CV. Tailored approach? I overhead an advice to a young girl, who used to check compliance reports, that she should write the number of reports she checked in all the years! Bummer, she checked hundreds of them, could not come up with an exact number.
What I got from this exercise? 15 hours a week of my life I never get back. Silver lining: some much younger people have to spend 30 h/week doing this for much longer time.
For the record, I am 50 and I have been in the business of "selling" people by their CVs for the last 17 years.

Our aim with the Effective Job Search workshops is of course to help you getting closer to a job. Apparently, our CV workshop didn’t help you with that matter, and we’re sorry to hear that.
However, as it is mentioned in the Course description, our focus for the workshops is both on writing a CV/application and on many other aspects of the Job Search such as competence clarification, network strategy, unsolicited job search, the job interview, calling companies and much more. The aspects of the Job Search are covered by the counsellors through one-on-one counselling and short presentations.

I am very satisfied with the course I took (8 meetings) at the Ballisager. I was instructed, among others, how to write a good CV, cover letter, prepare for an interview and send unsolicited application. Now I have a good basis for job searching which are 3 types of CV that correspond to my fields of job seeking.
The knowledge from the meetings is very useful and I have got many practical advices.
