regret
We are in our 70s and have always purchased caravans/motorhomes from dealers and saw no reason to change things, we saw a Romahome that we quite liked saw it and although it was quite tatty thought it was basically ok especially after it had been tidied up ( something dealers had always done before ) we were told that as it had to have an MOT, a full engine service and the ' detailing ' we would have to wait three weeks before we could have it, quite reasonable considering everything that needed putting right We waited and had it delivered ( no charge )when we looked at it a bit later we saw nothing had been done to the inside, headlining hanging down and generally still tatty. Drove it a few miles and the low oil light came on, let it cool checked it and it was thick black oil below the 'low' level, being a ret. motor mechanic I knew it hadn't been changed, sump nut also covered in undisturbed muck. Contacted them with a list of what we found namely headlining, lights not working, toilet cassette door needed new lock, toilet cassette still contained human waste, extractor fan in roof letting water in, fridge so badly stained I ended up spraying the inside, aerial not working, rubber seal of fridge mouldy/rotten, front seats don't lock, drivers seat slides out of runners, it seems that everything I touch is either filthy, breaks or doesn't work and I am absolutely sick of it, all I have done is worked on it we haven't driven it anywhere and really wish we had never seen it and look wistfully at the caravan we traded in that was clean and worked, or that we knew of the very different level of service we would get, so different from service we were used to from other dealers. If I could go back to before the day we saw it I would. I emailed and had a call back he said that he didn't understand what had happened and offered an oil and filter change for free and told me ' well it was cheap ' approx £1500 - 2000 less than good similar ones same age milage etc so not exactly cheap. I hate leaving negative reviews and see this more as a brief honest resume of the experience we have sadly had
