I have a Banfield monthly contract for…

I have a Banfield monthly contract for around 10 years now and took my English Bulldog for her yearly check up on February 21, 2022. I never drop her off but was forced to do so and she was there all day. Within days she caught pneumonia and we have no other pets, don't walk her due to pet doors and she stays in the house almost all day because of Florida weather. I had to take her to the 24 hour emergency vet to put in an
oxygen chamber and get antibiotics, On March 3, 2022
she had a cardiac arrest due to breathing issues and I had to put her down. The 24 hour emergency vet bill was over $5000 which I think was ridiculous but I wanted to save her life. I called Banfield corporate as instructed by Banfield, Wesley Chapel, FL. location and they said I had to pay the balance of the contract of over $300 even though they can't service my dead pet any more. It was due to the Banfield, Wesley Chapel, location treatment of my pet that cause this issue and
now they want me to pay the balance of a contract that they can't service any more. I though a contract ment both sides get the necessary services but only Banfield
is getting what they want. This is a bad business practice because one person in the contract doesn't get services any more which cost the company nothing.
I have liked the vets there for 10 years but letting my
pet get pneumonia due to negligence is unexcuseable!! Don't sign a contract with Banfield or you will end up like me when you pet dies. If my pet was still alive, I would gladly pay the balance but not for an animal that passed away because of Banfield hospital practices!!!!
