Even booked as a leg in a premium Lufthansa ticket no priority service. Regular check in. Seat very narrow. Can't compare with TG Flight was in time, but had to wait more than 40 minutes for luggag... See more

Good
2 domestic flight in Thailand. Ticket prices are high (this is the reason why I choose 4stars and not 5). Flights goes well and the staff gave us also a free meal even if the flight was only 1 hour. Nice.
Unprofessional Treatment by Bangkok Airways at Luang Prabang Airport
We had a very upsetting experience with Bangkok Airways at Luang Prabang Airport. A family member who had already checked in was suddenly denied boarding just before the flight, without reasonable explanation or proper support.
We explained that we were traveling together as a family and were already in Bangkok waiting for her, but the airline staff were extremely unhelpful, dismissive, and even rude. They refused to rebook her on a later flight or offer any kind of assistance.
We ended up purchasing a ticket with another airline the next day, and she boarded without any issues at all—clearly showing the problem was not with immigration but with Bangkok Airways staff in Luang Prabang.
This experience was stressful, costly, and deeply disappointing. I would advise travelers to be cautious when booking with this airline, especially when arriving to or departing from smaller regional airports like Luang Prabang.
Absolutely nothing to complain about
Absolutely nothing to complain about. Plus, who would have thought they serve food on such a short flight! Well done!
Staff’s Lack of Immigration Knowledge Caused Stress, Delays, and Mishandled Luggage
Terrible experience. We flew from Samui to Bangkok with your airline, connecting to London with another carrier. Despite holding UK Settled Status as EU citizens (which means no visa is required), your staff wrongly insisted we needed a visa. They dismissed our official proof and caused unnecessary delays, stress, and confusion. Because of this, we almost missed our flight and our suitcase was released in Bangkok instead of being transferred to our connecting flight, adding even more stress and delay. Completely unacceptable—your staff urgently need training on UK immigration rules.
Worst airline experience I’ve ever had.
Worst airline experience I’ve ever had.
At the first time, the flight got delayed 10 hours later!!!
Instead of departing on 10:30 a:m they rescheduled the whole flight to 17:20
We thought to ourselves, what will we do in all of those free hours, so we just took a train to Bangkok center and spent the day. During the day I’m receiving an email from Bangkok airways, that says the flight had been rescheduled, again, this time for 19:40
. 6 hours before we needed to aboard our already delayed flight, we got another delay. And if all of that isn’t enough
The last delay was - 19:40 departure. We only got on the plane at 19:50
To sum up, thanks to Bangkok airways, I got stuck in Bangkok for 13 hours, at least they gave me a 250 baht coupon, what a joke.
Never flying with them again!
Great short haul experience
Two flights recently. Both on time with courteous staff. Although only an hour or so long you get a free snack plus free use of a lounge at the airport.
Boutique airline
Boutique airline, more like Bout-eek! dirty, old aircraft. Seats and carpets filthy, cabin linings dirty and flights consistently 15min late.
Save your sanity & book another airline!
In summary, do not fly with Bangkok Air!! We used Jetstar, Nok Air and Scoot and had no problems at all in Thailand.
At the time of booking our flights the reviews weren't too bad but it seems things have gone downhill the last few months and we unfortunately were caught up in the bad side of this airline.
They were late to commence boarding, then when the doors closed there was a mechanical problem so we sat there for awhile then they decided to cancel the flight and kicked us off, we watched the luggage be taken off.
By this stage my stress levels were starting to rise as we had a connecting flight later that night but I thought to myself its ok there's 4-5hrs to spare in Bangkok that's plenty of time..... we were told to wait at Phuket airport until staff were informed of the next step. After 15mins or so I let staff know we needed to swap flights asap to make our connection. Another 20mins or so went by and they'd found another flight for us, great news (I thought at the time) and boarding time was straight away on the other side of the terminal.
Then things worsened again, the 7 of us (including young kids) rushed to the gate but the plane wasn't even there yet... this new flight ended up 1 hour behind schedule!! Our transit window in Bangkok was narrowing fast!
The plane eventually landed in Bangkok and we had 30mins to get our bags, leave the domestic terminal and check into the international flight. Things worsened more, they hadn't put our 6 bags on the new flight!! Staff were waiting at baggage claims for us and we were given a form with a case number on it and we rushed to our next flight (made it with 10mins to spare!).
Whilst waiting for our next flight to go we checked the Samsung Air Tags and our bags were sitting at Bangkok Airport the whole time!!!! It took 4 days for them to be delivered to our house and when checking the tracking again our bags were not sent direct to Brisbane but instead went via Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific over 2 flights.
By the time we received the bags 2 of them were completely destroyed!! 1 was brand new and the other was 9 years old and had nothing wrong with it even though it had been on many trips!
Bangkok Airways are claiming they don't compensate damaged baggage which is a lie! I was able to provide them a link to their own webpage outlining compensation as well as 4 screenshots from other parts of their own webpage. I will be fighting them on this as it's not good enough & they need to be held accountable.
"Asia's Boutique…" not quite
Been flying with "Asia's Boutique Airline" for 20 years, mostly between Samui and Bangkok but I've flown to many other domestic and international routes with them, and standards have been dropping for a good while. As far as Samui goes, it mainly coincided with the time Samui airport was greatly expanded.
Recurring issues....poor ground experience at Samui (long check-in lines and impolite/ineffective staff), aircraft interiors are tired and look worn out.
Good aspects - good cabin crew, above par on-board food, free checked bag and seat selection. However, at nearly 12,000 baht for a round trip BKK-USM you're paying a lot for it given Thai wages are nowhere near those of the Western carriers.
For me, AirAsia is comparable and at a somewhat cheaper cost, adjusted for baggage and food costs. Their aircraft are also less dated. But PG own the airport at Samui so we're stuck with them there.
PG's claim to be a "Boutique Airline' is questionable. It was back in 2000-2010 period but isn't really true anymore imo and they're trading on past glories.
Worst Airline Experience
Worst Airline Experience – Rude, Incompetent, and Zero Customer Care
I had a horrendous experience with Bangkok Airways and I will never fly with them again. I was injured in my foot and had reserved an emergency exit seat in advance since I am 2m tall and need extra legroom. While I understand they had to remove me from the emergency row, what followed was completely unacceptable.
Despite the flight not being full, they flatly refused to give me an aisle seat or even a seat next to me to make my flight more bearable. The staff and supervisor were rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. No empathy, no basic customer service—just robotic responses and a total lack of care.
The return flight was just as awful. I spent 1.5 hours on the hotline just trying to secure an aisle seat, only for them to refuse and eventually hang up on me. Absolutely disgraceful!
This airline has zero professionalism, zero customer service, and zero accountability. If you have any kind of special request or need, don’t expect them to help. Avoid at all costs!

Our suitcases were completely destroyed. What a bad experience. Absolutely not recommended. Thumbs down…
Koh Samui to bangkok
Very very poor - take the ferry and bus - it will be quicker!!!
Samui to bangkok flight cancelled as we sat on the plane - no communications- 4 hours on and still no info - will miss my flight to Frankfurt in 3 hours time!!!!
Delays delays
First they changed the flight time then multiple delays including baggage collection causing us to be 2 hours later than original arrival time. No apologies. We lost 3000 baht in cancellation fees for a missed dinner reservation
Change of flights
Amazing support and kind staff. Have flown with them before and no problems, everything is smooth. I needed to change my flight to another date and they changed it no problems with fast support. Will always choose Bangkok Airways.

1 star because I got bumped to an earlier flight because of overbooking. If only there was some compensation.
2 stars added again because the other flight from USM to BKK was good and I finally like the airplane food for once (chicken and rice)
Delayed flight
Delayed flight, delayed baggage, never waited over one hour for the baggage, amazing since the flight is 50 minutes, amazing friday night, airlines should not be able to operate like this, it’s amazing to me how they can rob people on so much time without giving any compensation or anything, serving nasty food too, won’t fly with you ever again unless when I have to go to samui, wonderful Friday night created by air shuttle criminals.
Can't get through to Customer Service
I can't get through to them...
I'm based in the UK and have sent 4 emails to no reply. Have waited on live chat for 2 hours with no luck either.
All I am trying to do is upgrade my seats!
