Absolutely appalling customer service

Absolutely appalling customer service. Bought an iPhone using this company. Set up direct debit and started paying off the loan. Had a bit of spare money so made a few extra payments by BACs. Rang the automated service to check on account balance only to be told I was £50 in arrears! Rang Customer Service and raised a complaint as I was very worried that this arrears information would impact my credit score. Got absolutely nowhere other than being told that the matter would be dealt with internally and the matter was closed. Wrote to Barclays - got no reply! Rang C S again three times before a members of the complaints team rang back. Refused any form of compensation for my time and worry. Be very wary of this arm of Barclays.

Avoid at all costs because they simply mess you around

Terrible service. Have used in the past for large Amazon purchases. Went to use again and was told I need to update my details. "Application not found" - Online system is hard to navigate and customer support zero help. Can literally see in the app that I have a credit limit but yet I can't update my details to actually use it? Pathetic

My contract was set for 1st of each…

My contract was set for 1st of each month but kept bouncing from 1st til 8th of month so I cancelled d/d and set standing order and paid on this date, I got informed I set s/o wrong and it was £0.79 short so I paid over the phone and amended let’s that 2 days later they have hit me with missed payment ?? What a sham company, I will be addressing this with a formal complaint to them and the fca as this seems wrong for a finance company to do.

Irresponsible, unfair reporting practices.

Avoid using Barclays Partner Finance / Clydesdale Bank.

My loan for an Apple iPhone, was 24 monthly payments of £55. I repaid 20 months on time, no issues. One month my payment was late by a few days because of an issue with my bank. I called Clydesdale to pay the amount right away. They charged me a £40 penalty (>70% of the instalment itself). Without informing me that I was at risk of the delay being reported on my credit record, they promptly reported my payment as ‘missed’, but I had paid it, with only minor delay. They could have reported it late payment to account for the delay of a few days. After nearly two years of paying this and another loan with them on time I felt they could have acted more fairly. I complained and they responded to say they felt it was fair. My 5 year history of missing no payments has now been recently tarnished, making it difficult and more expensive for me to access my first mortgage that I am applying for right now.

The Clydesdale employees I dealt with were cold and callous with no expression of empathy or understanding towards me. I promptly repaid this loan and another loan I had with them for my Mac computer, as I felt victimised and very vulnerable to future abuses by Clydesdale. I no longer trust them, and feel there is too much risk of them unfairly damaging my credit rating again in future. Their actions and service levels are miles apart from the values and service levels of the Apple brand they partner with. I plan to contact Apple and report the incident, suggesting they partner with a more reputable lending partner.

We have had a nightmare with Wickes…

We have had a nightmare with Wickes from the start. We were still in conflict with them when Barclays Finance said they had been advised by Wickes we had signed off the kitchen (total lie) and we needed to start monthly payments 12 months from their letter. After much discussion Barclays advised they would liaise with Wickes. That was 3 months ago and not heard from anyone since?

Shocking service

Had a £1,500 credit limit, never went anywhere near my limit, never missed any payments, have really good credit rating and even went up since I started using Barclays partner finanace, then suddenly got declined a payment because they reduced my monthly spend from £500 to £120 (I was currently paying £103, and wanted to add something for a further £20 per month), why would you reduce it by so much when I've got a good credit rating, never missed a payment and never gone anywhere near my original credit limit, shocking service

4 years custommer 0 issues

I have used them for 4 years now for different products and so far no issues. I was surprised to use them at the start but after using them for 2 years ended up also getting a Barclays credit card.
So far so good an no issues but feels that this just for me when I read other comments.
I do note it's not the easiest lender to get if you struggle with credit score as in past i was declined by them but when my score increased they offered their services.

Very poor company overall

They got my address wrong…can’t change it online.
They post statements…no option to have them online.
In the process of closing the account…now 2 weeks since the request and still heard nothing.
This account was setup vie Amazon.
Beware they are not an efficient company to deal with.
You have been warned

The service provided by Barclay Finance…

The service provided by Barclay Finance is abysmal; even individuals with excellent credit scores face rejection, leaving a significant footprint on their credit file. It’s high time regulatory bodies like the ICO intervene and compel lenders to provide transparent reasons for their rejections. Beyond individual inconvenience, this practice adversely impacts the retail market and hampers economic growth.

They will destroy your credit file!!!

This is the worse lender ever! If you care about your credit history do not deal with them, where other lenders are speaking with you, giving you chance to sort things out, this company is reporting straight forward where they only can!!! Avoid!!!
This is a poisoned pice of cake!!!!

Worst lender I have ever seen and deal…

Worst lender I have ever seen and deal with. Keep away from them with any price. If you have your account on hold due to your bad financial condition, they will harass you through all the weapons possible.Warnings letters, threatening messages, missed calls, your life is going to be a mess with them.i wouldn't recommend not even to my worst enemy.

Senseless

Check my account, credit limit 1500, monthly payment limit 150, balance less than 300 - purchase of just over 100, sorry declined. Ring them & no, your new payment limit is reduced - we do this every time you make a purchase. So why bother giving limits? Why not just approve each purchase individually? Will close off once this is complete, will not be using Barclays for anything in future either. Weird waste of time & effort.

Hopeless app

Shame I can't give 0. This is an appalling app. I had a Barclays/Amazon agreement. It’s almost impossible to make payment through the app and on the rare chance you succeed, you’re left guessing if it worked because it shows no evidence of payment and takes days to go through and sometimes just doesn’t go through! total lack of transparency on the app. The whole process from approval to pay off is really clunky and totally inflexible. Amazon should get a better partner. Will never use it again.

Pointless exercise.

Worst ever service that's damaging Barclay's reputation.
Purchased a new gas boiler online, put in my name and address, salary, application granted, £3600 credit no further questions.
Applied for £2000 credit for a new Mac, they want 3 months of bank statements, now we need your accountant's report, now we need to see submissions to HMRC.
My accounts showed net £185K profits.
Too much time and effort is required to process a simple application for such a small sum.
It's almost as though they don't want to make the loan.

Why bother? Close your account

Why bother? They give me over £3000 credit limit but then decline you for small amounts. I have very good credit. I have previously paid off in full and early- so always interest-free. Have rang and been told to try again at a later date, and as a "responsible lender" they can't tell you why i was declined. At the same time getting text to say if I don't use my account they will close it. JUST CLOSED it as not worth the effort. Amazon needs a new partner. Just admit Paypal has won this battle.

What an absolute joke this is

What an absolute joke this is, I managed to get accepted for a product with BPF on Amazon and I got a statement last week saying it had been paid off almost in full, still a few quid outstanding but my credit limit was £450.
Tried to use it again today on Amazon for a £190 purchase and it declined me, saying it would take me over my monthly payment allowance !!
Why Amazon cannot apply their own monthly payment scheme to all products is beyond me, it's so much simpler to use . Barclays, you suck !!

Bought a PS5 bundle through Barclays…

Bought a PS5 bundle through Barclays partner finance from amazon, some months later it broke and could not be fixed, so I put in a section 75 against Barclays, they sent a letter agreeing to uphold the section 75 claim then never paid out, after months of struggles I finally got amazon to do a full refuind were Barclays got all their money back and then Barclays in turn paid me back all the downpayments I had made, Barclays then went and added a wrongful report to my credit file claiming I was 2 months in arrears for a contract that had been or should have been closed, Phoned Barclays partner finance customer service and got no help whatsoever, they have wrongfully damaged my credit rating and will not do anything to fix it so now I am having to consider court action against Barclays partner finance, this company are a discrace
