DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you want a significant part of your shipment damaged. Save money and go with a smaller, local company. It was a very, very disappointing experience. Save yourself, run away as fast as you can.

Nationwide criminal network of scam artists linked only by the storied Bekins name. At least for local moves like ours, has no trucks or employees of their own; everything is subcontracted to lowball freelancers. The only trace of Bekins in the entire process is their name on the boxes and the fact that they're the ones that suck money out of your bank account, including in our case an unauthorized undocumented extra withdrawal 2 weeks after the move was completed. Avoid at all costs.

I hired the Bekins/Monteith Moving and Storage company in Coombs, BC to transport my inventory from Medicine Hat to their vault storage where it remained for 2 months. I then rehired this same company to deliver my inventory to a storage facility in my town of residence. In unpacking my inventory ( my boxes and suitcases) I realized that they had been vandalized and that specific items where stolen.
I have no idea where these thefts took place; during transport with United Van Lines or in the compound of Monteith Moving and storage. I estimate my loss to be $5000. or more. The items stolen where deeply sentimental, gifts from family, family heirlooms, women's vintage clothing, foods, linens, toiletries and contact lenses. Rather than offering to investigate my situation, I was informed by the Manager and the Owner that I had signed for my inventory and had no recourse. I rate this a no star performance.
