Bella italia is a nightmare
We were here in June 2022. Extremely crowded. Bad camping. Expensive, you have to pay for a lot of extra’s . If you want to go back to the Stone Age, go here! Badly maintained mobile homes. Very bad customer service and bad communication. Our daughter cut her hand at the slide (5 stitches) . They told it was her own fault (somewhere it is written to not hold the side of the slides) and no compensation from their insurance. Bad management, who takes no responsibility. Only nice things are the location, the views from the lakeside and the prices are fair. We recommend to stay away from here.
The customer service is absolutely abysmal
The only reason there’s one star on here is because you can’t do none. I wish I’d checked these reviews before this ordeal. Ordered some pizzas from a nearby campsite, collected and then driver had a drink upon return (we’re away on a family break camping…) Scotland has zero tolerance to alcohol. Opened the pizzas and after my husband was extremely specific about what pizza we wanted they sent a garlic bread, entirely incorrect. Called up and the customer service was absolutely disgusting, they point blank refused to deliver a new pizza to the campsite, leaving my 9 year old daughter with nothing to eat and us with no way of getting to the shop. I will be returning tomorrow for a refund! I wish I’d read these reviews before ordering! An absolute and utter disgrace! Hang your heads in shame
Too costly
Decided to treat my family to Bella. I ordered for collection as it doesn't deliver. 1 lasagne which was burnt at the bottom, 3 spicey sausage which for the person eating them were not as spicy as normal and I ordered 1 carabona as I had never tried it. I believe a good one is made with ribbon pasta, this was tubes so I was disappointed. Although it tasted OK. For the 5 dishes it cost me £52.50...£10.50 per head. Won't be buying again because I could have made all these dishes under £10. I know there is a crisis on and there are overheads to consider but it's unacceptable really especially seeing other takeaways in the area are round 6-7pound on average per person and yes I didn't have to buy but gave you the benefit. Lesson learnt. Ipswich Suffolk.
Lazy and discriminatory approach to food allergies. Poor quality ingredients
We chose Bella Italia out of several nearby Italian restaurants in Brighton as the menu contained everything to suit the whole family - including calamari, carbonara, and vegan pizza options. To their credit, the local restaurant staff were lovely (hence not getting a one star rating). It’s a shame about the company’s attitude though. I was initially pleasantly surprised when they asked about food allergies, thinking this showed good diligence. However, as soon as I mentioned that my daughter has a (mild) allergy to two very specific types of nuts, we were surprised to be told (in an pizza and pasta restaurant) that the options would be ‘very limited’ and we needed to use a bar code to find out what it safe to eat. The bar code took us to a Bella Italia website page which may as well have said ‘we can’t be bothered to work out the ingredients in our own food or take any precautions so anyone with any kind of allergies isn’t welcome and shouldn’t eat here’. There was nothing on the menu containing the nuts to which my daughter reacts. We decided to use our own knowledge and understanding of the extent of it own daughter’s risk levels and order calamari - something she loves and orders whenever she sees it on a menu anywhere. They returned with our drink orders and casually told us (after the kids had taken a drink) that they won’t serve her calamari or anything else that goes in the fryer because they couldn’t guarantee it’s safe. It seemed that even fries etc were off the menu. For a nut allergy! They wouldn’t allow us to use our own judgement and basically banned from eating half the menu because of ‘company policy’. I’m horrified to know that a restaurant chain don’t know what ingredients are in their own food. What does that tell you about the quality of the food? Well the vegan pizza had little lumps of what was clearly pre-frozen and chopped spinach, whilst the carbonara had such large, hard, and salty lumps of pancetta that my other daughter couldn’t chew them and had to pick them out. The calzone lacked sauce and was too dry (how is that even possible with a calzone?) whilst the sauce in the pizzas was all distributed around the edges /crusts with very little in the main part of the pizza. Lovely staff but the company seems to be around 30 years behind the times regarding their ingredients, quality, and their appalling and discriminatory attitude to those with food allergies.
where do i start
where do i start, my mother bought me a £40 gift card,
i asked for the bill twice and made the server aware of this fact, he then TOOK my phone away to scan the code for 15 minutes! came back and said the code had expired? then actually READ the date and saw that it was valid FROM the 17th of June this year, then he dissipated again for roughly 10 more minutes with my phone without asking apparently to find a manager, a young woman asked if everything was ok and i explained that her friend had just wandered off with my phone and I'd like it back as he'd been gone a while, the manager then appeared holding my phone saying the code was invalid and he couldn't get it to work, so again WITHOUT ASKING opens up my web bowser and started opening tabs!? this was now easily 30 minutes after wanting to pay and he had the absolute gall to call me rude when i snatched my phone back and exclaimed Jesus Christ man just tell me what to do don't start using my phone like that!? he got aggressive, called me rude again and then informed me he was the manager. i honestly have never experienced this kind of treatment anywhere before, never have i had my phone taken off me to scan a code for 30 minutes then have an absolute stranger start using it and calling me rude for taking my own god damn property back?! i cant believer you've hired someone like this to run your restaurant, in the end he just discounted the meal the £40 and then the original server came back and practically threw the receipt on the table after id already said I'm paying by card and just left
i then had to wait another 5 minutes for someone to come and let me pay the outstanding £13
i asked for the bill at around 6:15 or so and didn't get to finally pay until 6:45
i was ready to just walk out and leave the remainder
this was supposed to be a special occasion but it was completely ruined by your staffs complete lack of awareness and training and your managers disgusting attitude towards personal privacy i would like the £40 refunded to the original source of payment and will gladly supply any relevant payment details for this as i will not be coming back again and will be leaving this review pretty much anywhere i can
Worst visit ever,
Worst visit ever,
Not even worth 1 star in all honestly .
Celebrating my sons birthday on the way back from a fab day out at Alton Towers. He loves Bella Italia so I found one on the way back home . We were shown to our seats, 10 minutes before someone came and took our drink order - then a further 15 until food order which I can understand when the restaurant is busy.
First issue was - they didn’t bring our starters out together, when we chased for them she forgot to put them through so we didn’t eat our staters together, she then asked if we wanted the mains to come out when me and my husband was still eating our starters . As soon as our plates were sweeped up. The chef brought our food out then went on to say, should there be a 5th meal, pointing at my sons empty space on the table. We told him yes then we knew something has gone wrong again. Then the head of house came over explained it was missed so yet again our meal was not all eaten together . I mean, surely the idea of eating as a family is we EAT TOGETHER . We was offered 1 free drink and then some discount of the bill which is okay to be compensated but the service was utter disgusting . I will not eat with you again!
I'd rather have eaten the muck off my foot
2/5 service - slow, low attention.
1/5 beer - tasted like beer from a crappy holiday resort. Also was full of a scummy scrums like substance, put me off ordering more or finishing the first
1/5 pizza - doughy, under seasoned, mass produced tomato sauce with zero flavour, basil imparted no flavour into the pizza.
Overall would not come back again and very unimpressed with the experience.

had the worse experience in a restaurant in London.
I have been to Bella Italia in Lescester square last Saturday 16/05/2022 and it was the worse experience at a restaurant in London.
I arrived around 8:30 pm waiting for friends to join me. The manager who sat me down didn’t even gave me a menu.
When my friends arrived we ordered a Prosecco and two beers. They were not even cold and they didn’t even had offered a wine bucket. We had to ask.
Around 9 pm the same manager came over and extremely rude demanded us to order stater and main at the same time otherwise he wouldn’t take the order. We told him we were ready for starters but not the main. He demanded us to order starter and main course because the kitchen would close at 9:30. He did not hide his rudeness and lack of professionalism. We were chocked and did not order anything asked him for the bill. Then we finished our drinks and left to another great and amazing restaurant which treated us as customers and we spent £250.
This manager should be retrained because he doesn’t know to deal with people.
How this disrespectful person is a manager ? A bad market is already going on around my social mídia about Bella Italia
I will never ever go back to Bella Italia again and would not advice people to go on the very one in Lescester square. That was a just horrível experience in my life.
Sheffield St Paul’s terrible service
Sheffield St Paul’s terrible service, 3 staff on a busy Friday night, forgot parts of the meal and food so inedible(swimming in grease) it made one of the party throw up afterward. £27 for a bottle of wine that’s £8 in aldi, laughable really

Disgusted
Myself and my partner was in a queue, the family In front asked for a table and they where told to wait, we asked how long the wait is for a table for 2 and we was told we haven’t got any sorry and then silence ? I asked noting no reservations? Again host replied NO, I then asked for a seat at the Empty bar for a few drinks, which he said no sorry we have no room ? Before I walked out as I felt this host was being at the very least discriminative the family behind us now next in queue asked for a table and the host was awkward as he knew I could hear him saying sorry no tables but we will have later on maybe 9 ?! The family before and after us was both white and we where an Indian couple I can only assume that we here either judged by appearance or in race ….I since went online to book a reservation as he said to me I can’t as we have no tables and I managed to book a table one straightway !
They should be ashamed of themselves.

I am sorry I ve spent my money fot the awful service.
I ve had the tortelloni with pumpkin and blue cheese, not well cooked, i had to ask for the bill 5 times and the manager loooked luke he doesn t know how to do a discount for Unidays where they are signed between sunday and thursdays, they blamed it on me and had to pay the full price even though I was suppose to have the 30% off the food.
definitely Will not return and I won t recomend to anyone that is looking for at least a decent service and food.
Closed kitchen early despite table booking
Arrived for a booked table at 9pm, on arrival staff told us the kitchen had closed early ‘because we did not notify them you were coming’. Since when was a booking not notice?
Not impressed 😕
Went to Bella Italia Saturday night at Bolton Middlebrook. I was not impressed the starter portions were very small considering the prices and the pasta dishes were quite frankly bland and without flavour . I have given it a 3 simply because the staff were friendly engaging and run off their feet.
