Since the 27th of May 2026, I've made multiple calls to Belong regarding the constant drop out of my internet connection.
1st call (27th May 2026): Was told that the area was undergoing known maintenance and the problem should be fixed soon and 'no need to call back' as the problem is being addressed.
2nd call (28th May 2026): Was told that the modem was the problem as it is outdated and I would have to purchase a new one. Was told to confirm before buying so that compatibility was confirmed.
3rd call (28th May 2026): Called to confirm modem compatibility, was told that it would work and to call during set up at home.
4th call (28th May 2026) last call made: Called to set up. Was told then that the modem wasn't compatible. Then after 40 mins of conversation, the modem did work but the problem was not fixed. Additional: I took the original 'Belong' modem to my friend's home to test it, and experienced no dropouts. Which means, now I have spent money for a modem that wasn't originally required. Towards the end of the call, when the representative saw the dropouts were still happening...they said they would escalate this but I would have to wait 2-5 business days before a complaint representative would get back to me. Till then, I am expected to just keep having this issue and constantly drop off my calls till someone can assist?
That router has since proven worse as of this e-mail, as it doesn't even pick up after a dropout of the internet. I have since has to replace it with the old one as it would at least give me 5 mins of internet at a time before dropping out.
I was told by the last representative that I will be called back in regards to this soon. I'm hoping someone reads this before calling back because depending on the response I receive, I might have to reach out to a telecommunication ombudsman as I feel this case has led me to make purchases for things that weren't even faulty.
Update 29/5: I had to call back as the issue was still ongoing. Got told we're performing diagnostics, we'll call you back in 4 hours to check in. Still facing drop outs
At the 4hrs mark: We (belong) have to have this issue show up as an issue from our end. We can't send any help otherwise and you will have to wait for us to try and identify/fix the issue over the weekend (which I know isn't true because they have no tech team available over the weekend).
UPDATE:
On the 3rd of June 2026 (after I disconnected from Belong) due to stalling and no technician being sent to check my network...a follow up call was made and they processed a refund for the router they made me buy.
Additional: They have been quite a good service for me, until help in any way is required. I used Belong for 4 years with only 2 internet issues arising over that entire time. I would think that because they are an Indian outsourced company, they don't have local technicians (I could be wrong). With this being said, it would be easier to say (for Belong) that we don't have technicians locally that can help you instead of stalling the process till dissatisfaction grows. They are a good company but God forbid you need actual assistance lol

Belong price is increasing from $88/month to $91/month on July 1, 2026 for Standard Plus NBN50 plan is not a great deal... look elsewhere for a better deal and faster speed.

I've been with the company five years - NBN & mobile phone plan. For the third time my NBN failed. Normally prompt and responsive, this time they couldn't fix the problem - it wasn't any of the normal culprits. Took 2.5 weeks to resolve, during which time I was without any connection at home, and so I confirmed I would not be charged for the period I was not using it. They agreed, however continued to charge me, and charged me for a new modem (which turned out not to be the problem). I wrote THREE letters of complaint to bring this to their attention via their website. No response, no acknowledgement. On my fourth attempt I told them if I didn't hear back I would post a negative Google review. Hey presto, I heard back the next day. After 4 attempts to reach them and really poor customer service over several weeks, I was expecting they would likely make the gesture of crediting me for the 1.5 weeks on top of the 2.5 weeks I didn't have internet, but no, they offered me $41 for just two weeks of non service. Really disappointing service Belong. Do better! I'm looking elsewhere now.

Wow, have you seen latest TERMS ? so you as a customer must check all, as it is your responsibility if you mobile, or device is compatible to they network. No minimum service guarantee, any issues, not they problem. But you get charged your monthly fee, no problem. I did have an experience with data network with Belong, any of my issue was basically ignored. No internet very often, slow speed. As I am working from home, my working time, due to the issues with network, has increased even by hours a day. I have changed provider and I have now spare 1/2 day to enjoy my life. John, Monbulk
Thanks Belongs to reply back, but how old lady or men understand all the technology, you should to do the check, not customer. all over the time, support requested to use different mobile, modem, even a another pc. this is your policy ? you dont even have web site to check if your network works in my area, at least I report it number of times, was it ever corrected ? and this is what you call customer support ... no this is not acceptable to any customer.

Bought a prepaid card, 160gb. Service so slow it was unusable. Tried to refund the card but that was not possible even though it was not fit for purpose. Cancelled the service (because it auto renews monthly) and they also force you to immediately forfeit any remaining data (in my case 150+gb) even though the month I paid for has 3.5 weeks left.

I just swapped NBN to Belong. Could set the date I wanted the service to start. When it started I received SMS and email.. didn’t take too long. Once connected it’s worked fine. Great speeds for 1000/100 plan getting around 930/98 morning or night. So far so good

Their eSIM activation is completely broken and they tell you to go in store to buy a physical SIM to transfer the service across. Of course they'll happily take your money even though your service isn't active, and while it's inactive you can't transfer it away. So I just have to drive 40km into town to buy a new SIM and then spend another 40 minutes on the phone, verifying my driver's license and medicare card just to talk to some imported biomass on the phone in their "local callcentre"

Data thieves. They stole many hundreds of gigabytes if my stored data. It's just not cool its very unfair. I paid for that.

Tried to move to Belong, and they took $30 out of my account straight away. They couldnt fix an issue of my account not logging me in, and so I couldn't activate the eSIM. They told me they'd look into it but it would be 2 to 3 business days, but in the mean time I'd have to go and PURCHASE another physical Belong sim card. I was not offered any kind of refund for the $30 that was already taken. They've essentially put me in a spot where I have no choice but to buy another product from them to access what was already promised.

Biggest joke of a company. Terrible customer service genuinely the worst internet provider, cuts out about 17 times per day I cannot Believe you're still in business. Do not go with these idiots if you want to keep your sanity. I hope Telstra collapse and your lives get ruined this is an absolute joke

Almost comical Call Centre experience. Perceived 100 min spent, 70 in various queues, ,3 escalation levels, but they refused to even talk about the non-operating mobile data service, instead kept me stuck in a moving-target identification process (although I had all usual credentials required). Kept being referred to the 'other department' and 'my supervisor'.

Sh!thouse service. Price gouging loyal Telstra customers and forcing them to join Belong to reduce their monthly spend with this subrate service is criminal. I can barely hotspot at all. In the age of AI and the efficiencies these global telecommunications need regulation to make them conduct their business under some ethical framework.

Bargain prices and dead easy to organise NBN

Terrible provider with horrible support. Speeds are never what they promise and there are times when I can’t load anything at all.

Reply from Belong
Didn't allow me to verify my ID, blocked me after 3 attempts. When I decided to move to a different provider, they wouldn't let me delete my account and said it (along with my privileged data) would be automatically deleted after 13 months. Having not had an active account this seems excessive.

0/5 – Would give zero stars if I could
Signed up with Belong on 16 February with a confirmed connection date of 2 March. Organised my previous ISP to disconnect on the same day. Belong's connection date came and went — nothing. No internet, no proactive communication, just me contacting them to find out what was going on.
They told me it would take "up to 5 business days" to sort it out. Fine. I waited. I contacted multiple times during that period, and every single time I was fobbed off with the same scripted excuse — "we're waiting for the NBN line to be cleared." No updates, no accountability, no urgency. The line was cleared on the 2nd of March.
5 business days passed and stillnothing. Then, on the 5th business day, they're telling me it could be another 1–2 business days.
I subsequently cancelled the service and went with another ISP. The new ISP did in less than 30 minutes what Belong couldn't do in less than 7 business days
So to summarise: Belong confidently took my business, let my previous provider cut my connection, failed to connect me on the agreed date, failed to fix it in their own promised timeframe, and have left me without internet while offering nothing but hollow, scripted reassurances and a rotating cast of call centre staff reading the same meaningless text.
Belong? Don't!
