Absolutely horrendous. I’ve waited 6 weeks for an order. It arrives with only half the items. I’ve spent a large amount of money for mohair etc and nothing to be seen. What did arrive was ab... See more

Really disappointing experience with Benridge. Two fleeces purchased, both full of scurf. Long delivery times, fleeces packed in together with no label. I have contacted them but have had no re... See more

AVOID!
I ordered two raw fleeces from Benridge Woolworks almost a month ago, and the experience has been extremely disappointing.
Delivery was delayed, and I was initially told that Royal Mail had attempted delivery on 25 February. This was not true. I later received a letter directly from Royal Mail informing me that the parcel could not be delivered because the sender had not paid the full postage. I was then required to pay an additional fee myself in order to receive my order.
As a customer, I should not be put in a position where I have to cover postage costs due to the sender’s error. After waiting nearly a month, to then be asked to pay extra just to receive what I had already purchased is unacceptable.
I would strongly suggest the company reviews its shipping processes and communication with customers. This experience has been frustrating and has significantly impacted my trust in ordering from them again.
Delayed but communicated.
Received my order after a slight delay, in which I was kept updated by benridge. both raw fleece and carded were to a good standard.
Bumpy start that was more than solved
Initial order with benridge had a bump in the road, when I ordered Google told me that delivery was in 2 days but after calling Lucinda and a good chat it seems that was an error
The carded fleece was gorgeous and spun up by hand beautifully, I was initially really cautious after some of these reviews and panicked when my order was delayed but thankfully it was sorted really quickly
I can’t wait for this shawl to be crocheted up so I can play around with my next order as there’s a few breeds in the spinners pack that I’ve been eyeing up!
Never sent us the fleece
Never sent us the fleece, despite promises. Then ghosted me. Recommend steering well clear
I ordered from Benridge Woolworks…
I ordered from Benridge Woolworks having been charmed by their huge online presence. What an error. I never received my goods. I tried emailing Lucinda on around 5 occasions but had either no reply or a vague excuse and no apology. At one point, she promised to send the goods with 24 hour delivery and weeks have passed since then. Still no fleece. I have had to open a PayPal dispute to try to get my money back. I feel like such a fool for not checking the reviews first before ordering but this company has been recommended online and even in books I have read recently - for example in The Lost Flock by Jane Cooper. I will never order from this company again and I still am out of pocket with no hope of a conclusion from PayPal until mid February. Do not make the same mistake as me - avoid this company. They cannot deliver what they promise on their social media.
Avoid at all costs
First order took a while to arrive and when it did the fleece was substandard, I was promised as refund and went ahead foolishly and placed a replacement order. What a mistake - twice out of pocket now! Over 4 weeks in and My Messages are ignored and if I asked about delivery on their social media platform posts they simply deleted it...that's how important their customers are to them.
My advice is do not use this awful company, they're running before they can walk and spend more time on socials talking the talk! Cut this middle man company out and speak to farmers in your county to source your wool and support them directly and not this god awful company.
I will be doing exactly this from now on.
My order was never sent
My order was never sent. I chased it for a month, received a couple of email replies claiming it was about to ship but it never did. I also reached out politely on some of their Facebook posts for more information but my comments were deleted. Eventually I claimed a full refund through Paypal.
At the time of writing there is no information on their website about dispatch times, shipping methods, terms & conditions or even a telephone number or address, just an email address that doesn't always get answered. They have a frequent social media presence with multiple posts daily, but that time might be better spent communicating with customers and shipping orders. I witnessed plenty of comments from other people also chasing orders while I was chasing mine. I'm definitely not alone in my experience of this company. No matter how well meaning a business model is, unhappy customers do not make for a good business.
Avoid. You will never get your order.
I have no idea why this company adds items to their website when they don't exist. Carded wool? No, it needs to be carded. Blended wool with mohair? No, they don't have the mohair to create the blend. I sent a number of emails and whilst I did get replies they were meaningless. I was not given an estimated delivery date, but assured that 'my order was being checked' and that the 'tracking would be updated'. They have no idea what they are doing. Like another reviewer, I really wanted to use this company. They are being really stupid if they are genuine. There are so many people who would use them if they actually delivered. I see loads of FB posts about where they go on about how fantastic they are - well, they are wrong. Just avoid. I have now had to raise a claim with PayPal as fed up with just getting nonsense replies. It does seem that they supply wholesale, so the skint little people who only want a small amount don't matter and can be ignored.
6 weeks and no item
I ordered an item 6 weeks ago, have reached out a number of times as I still haven’t received it. One email back saying they would click it through again and I’d get a new tracking number. I haven’t and now my emails are being ignored. So disappointed as I wanted to use them as a regular supplier. Looks like a scam at this point
Avoid at all costs
Was so pleased to find this company as they proclaimed to support British farming but after a month of waiting for the fleece, I've had to raise a case with PayPal.
I contacted them after over 2 weeks and they said it would be despatched shortly but still not received. Now not responding
Benridge marked my order as fulfilled and even sent me a feedback request!
Got to be a scam company after reading the other reviews.
Poor communications
I placed an order and the money was taken from my account on the same day. Nearly two weeks later, I received an email claiming that my order had shipped. A week after that, not having received anything, I contacted the company to ask if they had any tracking details. I did not receive a response. The following week, I received tracking details from Royal Mail and the parcel was delivered. Documentation on their website suggested that the order was in fact progressed through their system the day after my email was sent (it is now showing as 'fulfilled', which is correct).
Items within the parcel were well packed and identifiable. All contained a little more VM than I was expecting. One item contains what appears to be another contaminant; I have never encountered scurf before so cannot say definitely whether or not that's what I've got here.
Just don't order
I've tried them a few times now, first time I gave them the benefit of doubt, but second was worse, waited weeks and weeks for it, to arrive, for it to be the wrong item, had to make a claim to get my money back, horrible messages from the owner, never want anything to do with this company ever again
