Zero customer service

I bought 2 pans at the ideal show home. One of the pans coating has come off. I have twice, emailed the company and have had no response. I registered my warranty within a day of purchase. I have followed all guidelines for use on a low heat, season pan, washing instructions etc. Feeling I have wasted my money. Being ignored is not acceptable. I would like a replacement seeing as the issue occurred shortly after use. Still in use but having to use cooking oil as non stick is non existent .
After reply from Berghoff in response to my review- I have checked all boxes in my emails and there is nothing from Berghoff not a single reply other than the one from Trust pilot to say the y replied to my review, so I have emailed a screenshot of my history with Berghoff to show there was no reply.

We have checked our records and we replied to your email on Friday 3rd January 2025 @ 12:34pm asking you to provide images of the pan in question. We have never had a response to this email and are still awaiting the requested images.

We have a fully staffed UK based customer services dept who reply to all emails and refute any accusations that would suggest anything to the contrary.

I started with I frying pan now have a collection

I started with I frying pan. So impressed I now have a whole set of pans and frying pans and skillet. They work so well, and not not having to scrub them clean is a joy every time. It was a shock when my original frying pan stated to peal after 5 years. LCC we're great helping with a replacement

New handles please

I purchased 2 pans from berghoff at the Ideal home show. They have detachable handles. The pans are amazing. The detachable handle is an absolute nightmare to use. It's very fiddly to fit to pan and then screw into place. You then have to mess about taking it off again to be able to stack pans neatly. I have other pans with a handle that just clips on and releases in no time.

Thank you for your review and your feedback on the handles of the BergHOFF Eurocast range.

The range used to have a clip on handle but we found that after a period of time the spring within the handle would break and so customers were frustratedly left with a perfectly working pan but with a handle that could no longer be detached and so the pan could no longer be used in the oven (which was usually a big part of the reason people had bought the pan in the first place).

We made the decision to switch the range to a screw-on handle because nothing can really go wrong! It is literally a long screw that runs through the handle of the pan; twist one way for loose and one way for tight. They take a week or so to get used to but once you're au fait with it they are great and mean your pans will last you a lot, lot longer.

When we sell you a pan that is going to last 5, 7, 10+ years we mean every aspect of the pan, not just the surface and so with the screw handles that is more likely to be the case.

We hope this answer helps to satisfy your query and we hope you enjoy using your BergHOFF pans for many years to come.

Great follow up service

Great follow up service! We have used a 24cm Saute Pan and a Frying Pan for several years and they both been great. The Saute pan developed a flecked surface and we sent it off under warranty and they have supplied a new replacement. Thank you so much for brilliant service!

Don't cook with heat

Bought a frying, used it for normal cooking, frying eggs, bacon etc, it became so sticky that nothing came off, when asked for help under the warranty was told to deep clean it, which did nothing. I was then told we had cooked our eggs at a too high a temperature so it was our fault so no replacement or refund.
Apparently if it had been a manufactures fault it would have occurred in the first 6 months, then they would have helped..so 5 year warranty not much use.
I was told to try 2 deep cleaning methods, both of which I did several times, this made no difference.

We are sorry to read that after several years of use with the pans they were no longer as non-stick as they were. There are a couple of cleaning methods that we can advise which should help remove any burnt on food residues and ensure that you are continuing to cook on the actual surface of the pan.

If the surface of the pan is intact, the properties cannot change from non-stick to stick, more likely there is some residue there that means the food is not making contact with the surface of the pan itself and so is sticking.

If you try the two deep cleaning methods that are listed on our website under the FAQ section they should remove the residue for you and ensure you continue to get the best performance from your cookware.

Magnificent X7 Elite blender …

Great service from ordering .The X7 Elite blender is a must, juices done in seconds, soup within 3 minutes.
Also Nina in the office was very helpful , in sorting out my order.

Glass lid

The lid itself is fine, but it arrived with the lid handle 'upside down' with no instructions in or on the box on how to assemble it. Firstly Customer Services said I had not ordered from them which I clearly had. After much ado I managed to find instructions on line but a bit of lack of communication with customer services I thought and no idea why these instructions are nowhere to be found on the item, i.e. in or on the box.

Cookware lid tarnished after a single use

Code Given with Purchase: IDM290325
Purchased x 4 BergHOFF items of cookware on 30th March and registered for the warranty. A week later I contacted them as the lid for the wok had tarnished after one use. I emailed them with a photo and was told this was normal and to use CIF which was contrary to the care instructions that came with the cookware. I emailed back expressing my dissatisfaction and was asked to send a photo??? They hadn't even bothered to read the email trail. They are absolutely hopeless. This cookware is extremely expensive and they offer this allegedly fantastic guarantee that 'isn't worth the paper it is written on' so to speak. Maybe their aftercare service could do with living up to their claims.
Update - lid was replaced!!

Fantastic frying pan

Fantastic frying pan - non stick - non toxic. Bought a small pan at the food event at York Racecourse last year. It's been so good, I bought a second bigger pan online. Well worth the investment.

Glass lid

I ordered a glass lid, when it arrived the handle was on the underside with no instructions or explanation on or in the box. I emailed customer services who firstly said they didn't recognise my order number and I must have ordered it from someone else when I had clearly ordered it from them. I was told I would be sent a video on how to assemble the lid but I never was. I managed to search one on the internet and put it together no thanks to them. Poor information and communication.

Bought my saute pan at Ideal Home 24

Bought my saute pan at Ideal Home 24. Had it one year and very impressed of ease of use and cooking as demonstrated at show. Looking to buy more at the show now on this year. One point though it is quite heavy when full of cooked food and
tendency is hold handle closer to pan
and if you mistakenly place fingers over aluminium part of handle it is very hot!!... Best pan ever - worth the money.

Dangerous lids and shoddy customer service

Purchased a set from the bbc good food costing £250. Upon first use, the glass lid shattered whilst cooking. It went everywhere and in the pot with the food and across the kitchen. Luckily no one had been hurt but if a child or pet had been near by then I dread to think what could happen.
Emailed customer services who fobbed it off as it could have been banged or had a hairline crack in the lid so they wouldn’t accept returns of the set and refund. Now considering how I don’t want to use the set as it’s really worried me that it could happen again and this time someone will be hurt. I sent a reply well over a week ago stating that their response had been less than satisfactory, I’ve yet to hear back from them. I suspect I will not Be getting a response. Steer clear of these pans and their shoddy customer service.

As to their response below, the glass lid did not just ‘break’ it SHATTERED which they do not seem to understand. I wouldn’t dream of even putting it in the oven or yet using the pan again with the lid.
I’ve checked my emails and have not had a response to the last email I sent so clearly someone’s telling porkies.
I stand by my review of their poor customer service.

Please rest assured that the glass lids are made from toughened glass and are designed for both hob and oven use but on occasion, given the nature of glass, saucepan lids can break. Thankfully we get very few instances of this despite selling thousands of pans around the world each month.

We appreciate how upsetting this can be which is why we immediately offered to replace the lid for you free of charge despite the lids not being covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Furthermore, we have replied to each and every one of your emails and so would encourage you to check your spam / junk folder where you may find out latest reply.

Our offer of a replacement lid stands and we are more than happy to despatch this to your at our expense but no retailer in the world would refund a full set of used pans because one of the glass lid has broken. You may see that as "shoddy customer service" but we think that we have been more than fair and have tried to be as helpful as possible.
