Distressing experience

Distressing experience as a buyer. The one star is because they were very pleasant all though the viewings. They were not honest about certain things they knew about and should have disclosed which led to issues later on. Any attempt to question anything was met with dismissiveness yet in a manner that felt heavy handed and like I was unreasonable for asking questions on what is the biggest expense of my life. I understand they work for the seller but empathy costs nothing

Shocking lack of transparency on costs…

Shocking lack of transparency on costs and unwilling to cooperate on emails asking for clarity on very basic questions regarding our property's accounts in Liverpool City centre. Be extremely wary of buying properties if you see these as the managing agents.

Amazing service and went through everything clearly for me which was great! Laura really went above and beyond helping me with my property search which I appreciate so much and would definitely recommend her in the future.

Seriously Inadequate.

Seriously Inadequate.
To the point of leaving residents of their buildings in danger.
Fire alarms have faults - Residents have reported this to Berkeley shaw on a number of occasions over the past few years and nothing seems to have been fixed. Fire alarm at Portside House on Duke Street has been triggered by fault minimum 6 times over the past 2 weeks. This does not get turned off for minimum of an hour.
Lifts out of order with no accessibility. Building management have disabled residents in their building and will turn lifts off for days without notice.
They leave their buildings to go filthy with mounds of litter and build up on dirt in communal areas.
No real security for the building.
Theft in their buildings happens daily, they send out emails to residents to get their deliveries elsewhere instead of fixing the issues.
If your building is managed by Berkeley shaw - good luck...

Jules Hopkins at Berkley Shaw sold my parents home in Hightown , L38 and was fantastic from start to finish . She generated a lot of interest / plenty of good quality viewings and was extremely supportive and helpful through out the process, right up to completion. I would recommend Berkley Shaw if you are wanting to sell a residential property in the Crosby. Formby or Hightown area at a realistic price

Would highly reccomend

From the moment I walked into the office, to all of the staff I have communicated with, BS have been approachable, friendly, informative, reliable and extremely well-organised. They were considerate regarding our preferences with how much we wanted to be involved. So far the whole process has been smooth and stress-free!

Property Management Avoid at all costs

Abysmal building management and would avoid at all costs.
If you want to see how they actually manage buildings instead of what they post on social media, come and visit Portside House on Duke Street Liverpool. The building is left in filth and residents safety left at risk.
The issues predated the construction works currently going on regarding the external walls. The building management are using this as an excuse for any issues the leaseholders or residents raise to avoid any responsibility.
While I agree the construction works are essential for improving fire safety for residents. There are numerous fire safety concerns that were raised to Berkeley Shaw which went ignored for a significant period of time including:
No working lights in communal stairwells.
Trip hazards in communal areas.
Fire doors propped open.
Fire alarm displaying a fault on the screen by the front door.
Numerous incidents of false alarms which became so frequent, residents stopped coming down and the alarm would be left ringing for hours before being turned off.

Dear Katie,

We are sorry you have felt the need to provide such a review with regards to our management of Portside House.

The building is currently in the process of having its external walls remediated which has brought with it some unavoidable disruption to the residents. However, the works are essential to improve fire safety for the building and all of it residents.

We have addressed and continue to address issues raised to us to deal with the safety concerns and cleanliness level where possible given that parts of the external walls are being removed and remediated.

We thank all residents for their co-operation whilst these works are being carried out.

The safety of leaseholders and residents at the development is paramount and is the most important matter at Portside House at the current time. Due to the nature of the works involved, there will be additional challenges in terms of being able to maintain the same hygiene levels. Furthermore, the contractors working on the project have attempted to maintain a safe environment but there have been occasions where fire alarms have been activated and we have worked closely with the contractor to address these issues.

Berkeley Shaw can only apologise for any inconvenience caused to any residents in the development whilst the required works are taking place. However, as mentioned earlier it is crucial that through the current project, the safety of the building is restored and we ensure that the make up of the building does not present any potential risk.

An open, honest and brilliant service, what a fantastic team!

Jules and the wider team have been a pleasure to deal with from my very first phone call. I have dealt with many estate agents/agency's in the past and never have I received such a consistent service. Jules in particular, has been exemplary! She provided great advice on the home moving process whilst also giving an in-depth, easy to understand view of the current housing market and what we could realistically expect to sell the house for. I applaud all those at Berkley Shaw for their openess, honesty, diligence and professionalism, my one regret is that I can only award 5*.

I used Berkeley Shaw to both sell my home and purchase my next home. The team went above and beyond to get over asking price on my property within the first week of marketing. Could not be happier with the service I received and would not hesitate to use again. Thanks team for all your help!

Consistent attention to detail regarding any issues

We have had received excellent attention to detail since dealing with this agent from the lady who priced the property and took photographs.
More recently from the sales staff with prompt and informative information and always replying promptly and politely to any queries.

Brilliant first experience…

I had a brilliant first experience buying a house through Berkeley Shaw - the team are quick to respond, friendly and knowledgable.
I’ll be selling through them shortly, hoping for the same amazing experience.
It’s refreshing to see them focusing on their marketing and their video & images are very high quality. Such an important thing when you’re buying and selling that’s often overlooked.
