Do not buy from Better World Books…
Do not buy from Better World Books unless;
1) you want to receive a really dirty ex-library book which was described as Very-Good
2) you want to receive a totally different book to the one you ordered.
This is a shockingly bad company - I will never buy from them again
Is this site a scam?
I am not entirely sure what this company does, but something is not right. There is no track record of the shipment, it never arrived, no refunds for such situations, no track number, no origin, nothing. So--for all I know, it might be a scam.
Unusable ex library stock
Ordered a book described as being in good condition. It arrived with the cover page removed and the spine split with the leaves detaching. An ex library book withdrawn from stock and not described as such.I've emailed them and got no response. Trading standards should play a role in these sort of issues.World of Books has an easily followed complaints procedure and don't hesitate to replace books, I'll certainly be using them in the future.
Ordered Charles Spencer’s ‘Killers of…
Ordered Charles Spencer’s ‘Killers of the King’ via Amazon’s used books and received Cao XueQin’s ‘The Story of the Stone’. What is Amazon doing partnering with Betterworldbooks when these kind of mistakes are repeatedly occurring?!?
I ordered and payed for Jack Nicholson…
I ordered and payed for Jack Nicholson Biography what I received was a box with 4 packets of Oven Clean inside 😱 have informed Amazon, just waiting for a reply......

Appalling service
Appalling service. Got a totally different book to the one I ordered and when I asked for a refund, the email bounced back to me and Better World books closed the return form on Amazon, saying it was a"technical error".
They are definitely NOT making it a 'better world'.
Totally wrong book
They sent the wrong book. It has a totally different title and is on a very different subject. We are trying to obtain a refund but they do not appear to be trying very hard to sort things out.
SENT EX LIBRARY BOOK
SENT EX LIBRARY BOOK - NO MENTION OF IT BEING THAT IN DESCRIPTION. THEN THEY EXPECT ME TO PAY FOR RETURN SHIPPING. EH, NO FING CHANCE. BUY FROM SOMEONE ELSE
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. WEBSITE DOES NOT WORK, DID NOT RECEIVE ANY CONFIRMATION EMAIL WITH MY ORDERS, THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE CONTACT WHATSOEVER, ORDERS TAKE FOREVER, IF THEY EVER ARRIVE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
Definately not like new as described
I ordered a book which was described as used, like new. Which I thought for a present would be fine. It was cheap, came on time BUT it was far from like new. The binding was worn at the edges, cover sheet was bent and dirty, and there were pencil notes and ticks throughout from it's previous owner. So not good enough condition to be described as like new.
Better World Books Rare UK do not respond when writing to them
On March 27, I purchased books by Better World Books Rare UK through AbeBooks.co.uk.
On April 22, I write to the seller (with copy to AbeBooks) and ask for tracking number for the shipment, but they never answer.
On April 24, I am writing to the seller for the second time (with copy to AbeBooks), but they do not respond this time either.
On April 26, I write directly to AbeBooks and complain that the seller does not reply, but AbeBooks continues to send it to the seller, even this time there will be no answer.
On April 28, I write again to AbeBooks and say that I still have not heard from the seller, nor have I received my book as a seller had promised when I bought the book, the seller writes that I will receive my book by April 27 . Both AbeBooks and the seller still do not respond to my emails.
This is very poor customer service. When you buy an old library book for 62 pounds, you can expect a little service.
Sincerely

Don't waste your time and money
Don't waste your time and money. I made the mistake of ordering a book through Abe books without checking out the company that they were using - Better World Books ! Almost a month later still no book and no response at all from Better World Books. Pay a little more and find yourself a company that actually sends you what you pay for and gets back to you when you communicate.
This company has really gone downhill
This company has really gone downhill. They sent me a paperback copy of a book advertised as hardback (and sold at a hardback price). The book was sent in a thin plastic wallet, with no protection. I returned the book to them, having complained, and am still waiting for a refund.
I would definitely not recccomend this…
I would definitely not recccomend this book supplier. I own a small bookshop and I bought from them two pallets for resale. I've thrown about 20% of the books I've received: they were very damaged, with broken pages, broken flaps, filthy, moldy etc. About 20% were with no damages, but the rest of them were ex-library books and got stamps on the pages and the first page broken (missing). I would be ashamed to sell such low-quality books.
Wonderful site for used books!
This is always the first site I go to for used books - good quality, low prices, and free shipping! I love that I can feed my book obsession while also helping literacy charities. It's just the excuse I need to buy even more books...
I've shopped with BWB several times, and I've only had an issue once, which was resolved quickly and easily. I had received a book I hadn't ordered in place of the one I paid for, but after emailing customer support they sent the correct book and suggested I donate the unwanted book to charity.
Very happy customer!
Disappointed
Ordered book priced at about £20 in supposedly 'good' condition as a birthday present. It turned out to be a beaten-up old library book in bad condition. It was dispatched without padding in what looked like a cut-down black bin bag. I had to buy another birthday present though finished up giving the battered book afterwards as the recipient really wanted to read It. To be fair, I've had good experience with this organisation before but probably wouldn't use them again unless I was desperate.
Brilliant service!
I have used Betterworldbooks a couple of times now, and the choice of books on offer is excellent, as is the service . I also like the idea of supporting literacy!
Fast delivery, but not actually the book I ordered
Ordered a book which was delivery quickly, but the book wasn't actually the book I ordered! It was a similar book from the same series.
Didn't complain as I wanted that book anyway, but not sure if I would use again....
