It failed the minute it went back to…

It failed the minute it went back to America. UK customers cannot access new games. They must have lost thousands of supporters. The points system is ridiculous. It used to be a favourite site for me. Not any longer.

Beware

Beware! going on now BF?I tried to get into my Purchase history on my game manager and I was told to sign in. I have NEVER needed to do that before to get into my own games. I tried signing in and it refused to recognize my password and was told to get a temporary one so I copied it from my email and put it in the password sign in and it refused it also. After 2 tries it locked me ouit . This game site is the most disgusting site I have ever been on. I am so glad I droped my membership. I used to love BF but no more you have messed it up so bad with your new make over and you are losing members.
I also tried different temporary passwords because BF refused the one I had. I was given through email 6 different temporary passwords all from BF and they won't accept any of them, their own passwords. Afer I tried all of them I was blocked from the site. How sick is that. I hate the new BF.

Improving

I've been a Big Fish Game subscriber since 2009 and the product and service was excellent until 2020 or thereabouts when (coinciding with Covid) the site became unstable. Things got worse and it quickly deteriorated to the point where the company should have gone under but, they persevered and limped along for a great number of months.

The trouble generally came under my radar in the summer of 2022 when I couldn't get into my account with any consistency. Then, within a couple more months, I wouldn't be able to get past my log in data.

I have several pages of screenshots and texts between myself and BFG that illustrate the exhaustive measures I went to to finally resolve the problem, and it all came down to Tech Support's general lack of education.

If I were creating this report before the resolution, I would award one star. But as it turns out, when my complaint finally got kicked upstairs, the problem was resolved immediately.

My parting shot to the Tech Support Supervisor was to better educate the front line staff.

Owned by a Gambling company . . .

This used to be a lovely place to buy games. However recently they changed their system to a points system. Basically, if you subscribed you were entitled to one game a month paid for from your subscription. Now it seems the points system will only;y entitle you to half the price of a game, which incident tally they have put up in price as well. I've cancelled my subscription I have points on their system which I doubt I would want to use unless something special came out because it will cost me more money too.

A little digging tells me it's owned by an Australian company with connections to the USA, China & Russia. Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Big Fish Sleeps With Luca Brasi

I have hundreds of games from Big Fish Games going all the way back to April 04, 2012.

The first game that I purchased was "Otherworld: Spring of Shadows Collectors Edition"; the second was "Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove", and a few days later I purchased the Collectors Edition of the same title (I didn't know anything about Collectors Editions back then, but once I discovered them it was all that I would buy).

I can't remember much about "Spring of Shadows", but Dire Grove blew me away... it was (and still is) a GREAT game... and after that I just kept at it it until I now have a fairly decent sized library.

At one point in time I even wrote a personal and professional letter to Paul Thelin; the original Founder and CEO of Big Fish Games at that time, in order to thank him for developing such a GREAT company. And not a cheesy letter either; cotton fiber, letter head, professionally type written letter kind of letter.

I thought that Mr. Thelin had done an excellent job and thought that he was deserving of being treated with a high degree of excellence as well.

Well I haven't been to Big Fish for quite some time; the company was making some changes and I figured I'd let things settle down before I did. Today (October 07, 2022) is the first time that I took the time to check things out again, and all I can say is:

What in the (you know what) HAPPENED to Big Fish Games??

I had an INSTANT IPECAC ATTACK as soon as I logged onto the site (for those that might not be in the know, Ipecac syrup is used to induce vomiting).

What a total mess Big Fish has become.

At one point in time I was a member and loyal customer, but NOW I refuse to even be a customer... I'm already researching OTHER companies to give my business to, but it will never EVER be Big Fish again unless they clean their mess up.

And if I ever contact ANYONE at Big Fish Games in the future, I'll write everything down on "Post-Its" and in pencil!

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!

The cost of buying games on this website since the update is a disgrace! Even when they have a so called offer on, it is still more expensive than paying full price before the change. Unless they go back to the old way I will not buy games from here again. I have been a member for over ten years and have spent quite a bit during this time.

So disappointed in the new BFG website, please bring the Classic version!!

I have been a member of Big Fish games since 2005 and have spent a lot of money with them over the course of those 22 years. The remake of their website is horrible. The previous site was so user friendly and easy to find new games that I want to try. Now, I can't find anything. I used to be able to see the top 100 games to try and find new games I might enjoy, but that is no longer an option. They used to have new games released every day, but I have seen there are days that are skipped. I used to be able to see what type of game it is from the new release screen, to identify the types of games I am interested in, but you have to select the game in order to find that out. This year is the first time ever I have gone to Google to search for other similar game sites because I have been so disappointed.

Not impressed

Been a member for 12+ years and was always impressed with their website.
First time using it since the website change and I have not found anything positive in the experience. Now taxed for games, the value of points gained from buying is not even 10% of their price and the website is completely non-user friendly.
You have to ask what happened... and why change something that worked so well.
I have ended by subscription and will likely never resubscribe unless they overhaul their system. Such a shame that a site so useful and beneficial has lost its sparkle and has become so money orientated.

Bye bye Bigfish

I was a regular buyer from Bigfish until I realised that collectors editions of certain games were alot cheaper (some by half the price!) on Steam or GOG. Now the price has increased by £2 for membership, and also the increased prices for games, I'm considering cancelling my subscription altogether as I hardly use it.

Disastrous new platform

I have been a member for years and this new platform is a disaster. Cannot sign in, cannot buy games, endless cycle of doom "adding item to cart".
The game manager used to do purchases inside it. Now it insists on opening a browser and the endless cycle begins. Utter garbage, put it back how it was and drop the increased subscription, "points" and fis it or lose everyone.

Negatory

I see some negative reviews. Nobody likes the new platform. I don't like it either. I'm 72 y/o and have been a member for 12 years. The purchase history is useless.
Being old; I hate change of any kind.BFG blew the roof off. Maybe if we all went to Seattle and protested with big signs and bullhorns BFG might consider going back to the old platform. lol

Restore Big Fish games to the "old way" and forget about this update.

I used to love Big Fish Games but after 20+ years of membership I can say that no more. I can't play any of my previously purchased games because they are all trials which does me no good. It is very difficult for the Big Fish associates to help because they cannot understand the language of our land. I provide photos and that goes right over their heads too. I'll bet there is an executive up there in Seattle who is wishing the update had never been released to the customers of BFG. Remember: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" I have gone back to being a Wild Tangent customer and am happier because of it!

Don't waste your time or money

Have been a loyal customer for 12 years but since takeover and new website everything has changed. First, management said that there would be no change to cost of membership or games after restructuring. Not true. I have gone from paying $8AUD per month membership to $11.30AUD. Game purchases have also increased by 30%. A significant amount for person with limited budget.
Also, the new website is terrible to navigate and some games just do not load. Customer service is very poor. Will not recommend them to anyone. Was perfect before.
