Nice house but very dirty
We appreciated the house itself, which is in a lovely location, but we were extremely disappointed with its cleanliness on arrival. The patio area was dirty and poorly maintained, with unclean furniture, weeds, dead plants, and some damaged items, making it unappealing to use, not to mentioned the BBQ that isn't fit for putpose.
Inside, we found the fridge, freezer, kitchen bin, extractor fans, and oven in an unacceptable condition and spent considerable time cleaning them ourselves, as they clearly hadn't been cleaned in some time.
While the bedrooms were generally satisfactory, many other areas of the property, including floors, skirting boards, doors, handles, the banister, and dining table, were dirty and required immediate cleaning.
The laundry room was shocking, dirty and in a bad state of repair, so we closed the door and tried not to use it.
We raised these concerns with the property manager, who attributed the issues to a busy season and offered to arrange further cleaning. However, given the condition of the property on arrival, we lacked confidence that this would resolve the issues adequately and did not wish to lose valuable holiday time waiting for additional cleaning.
Given the cost of the rental, we do not believe guests should be expected to stay in a property presented in this condition.
