Biman takes cash of vulnerable customers
My parents recently travelled with Bangladesh Biman Airlines, the only reason we chose Biman was because of the direct flight to Sylhet. At the checkin desk the staff was freindly and we had paid for extra luggage allowance in advanced. Eveything was fine at the checkin desk, my mother and aunty had two additional plastic bags with snacks inside for the travel, the checkin desk staff said, that doesn’t require to be weighed and is totally fine.
Low and behold! Just before boarding literally at the gate. A female staff member (who refused to give her name or details) claims they have “sneaked in extra bags! And she demanded a payment at that point. My parents are aware of previous problems and bad treatment people have had with Biman (just search on YouTube) and you will see! So they got scared and didn’t challenge it as much, fearing the bad treatment on the duration of the flight.
She refused card payment and said only cash payment will be accepted and unfortunately my father again complied and paid it. Mo recipient or anything provided for this transaction! So this makes me believe they are robbing vulnerable customers who don’t challenge them and usually elderly passengers Dont speak good english and out of fear they just comply.
She is usually Manchester airport as soon as you arrive at the checkin desk. She directs people towards the queue for Biman checkin desk etc.
This experience has made me leave this negative review. And my family will never use this airline again.
I hope the airline can look into this matter for the reputation of their own brand. I have no doubt she will be targeting many other such vulnerable customers and earning herself some extra cash on the side while on the job.

The worst airline every! No words to describe how dissatisfied me & my family were during the journey with this airline.
First of all I found 3 cockroaches during my flight there, which was absolutely disgusting! My sister was sick during the flight to Bangladesh and we couldn't find any sick bags which are normally kept tucked away but luckily had a spare bag with us and we tried several times to get some assistance from one of the flight attendants but we had no one turn up for help, it was only after 1 hour when my sister ended up going up to find a flight attendant herself and all they could offer was fizzy drink to help with her sickness.
During the flight back, me & my family were separated and allocated different seats, the employer who was at the check in desk said this was because apparently the plane was different and we never checked in when I tried to check in on the website but it wouldn't let me, it didn't let me for the journey to Bangladesh and it wouldn't let me check in for the journey back to the UK and that issue is you can't even argue with them!
Horrible horrible airline, absolute thieves as the tickets arent exactly cheap and horrible customer service... I wouldn't recommend this airline to my worst enemy! I would rather go to Bangladesh via longer route with a different airline such as Emirates or Qatar and then go by road to Sylhet. Never again!!
Disgusting service ever
We meant to fly at 6:15pm
The flight was 5 hours 49 minutes delayed, than they board us in the plane at 10:30pm they couldn't take off within half hour and after 11:00 pm Heathrow stops takeoffs so takeoff time was over they made us seat on the plane for another hour then decided to bring us to a hotel, the hotel was already packed and at last we got our rooms but now have to share our bed in the hotel with strangers.
Now it's been 12 hours of delayed after all these dramas still they haven't informed us when is our flight is having a sleepless night watching for the notification.
Its very expensive with the most lowest quality service,
And they don't let any other airlines to operate between UK and sylhet, no doubt this airline is ran by a corrupt group of gangs.
Disastrous Experience with Biman Airlines
I recently experienced an incredibly disappointing flight with Biman Airlines (Flight [BG201], Sylhet to London) on 3rd January 2024, and the entire ordeal felt like a travel nightmare.
1. **Cramped Conditions:** Despite reserving a premium economy seat, I endured exceptionally limited legroom and uncomfortable seating.
2. **Unappetising Food:** The in-flight meals were not only tasteless but also lacked quality, contributing to an overall disappointing culinary experience.
3. **Delayed Arrival:** The flight, originally scheduled to land at 16:05, did not touch down until 16:21, causing significant disruptions to my plans.
4. **Disruptive Atmosphere:** The journey was marred by a disruptive child playing loud music, making the entire experience more unpleasant.
5. **Unsanitary Conditions:** Adding to the distress, I encountered a cockroach during the flight, supported by photographic evidence.
6. **Additional Issues:**
- Damaged luggage upon retrieval.
- A non-functional USB-C charging port, compelling me to rely on another passenger.
Despite my attempts to address these concerns with Biman Airlines, my efforts have been met with disheartening silence. This lack of responsiveness persists, even regarding a previous complaint about a damaged shirt during my first flight from London to Sylhet.
It has been 13 days, and there has been no response from Biman Airlines.
In light of these multiple distressing experiences, I strongly caution against choosing Biman Airlines for your travel needs. The evident disregard for passenger comfort, unhygienic conditions, and inadequate customer service make this airline an unfortunate choice for any traveller.

I urge you not to take this airline
I urge you not to take this airline, even if you believe it's cheap. They never reply to you when you have a problem. The most negligent and careless airline I have ever used. When I attempted to get in touch with them via emails and phone calls after losing my luggage during a trip from Chicago to Kathmandu, they never answered and never gave me an update on the status of my belongings. Over two months have passed with no information no updates. I also filed multiple complaints in their system no any reply.

We were travelling as a group of 3 and they colluded (Biman airport staff and Biman cabin crew) to prevent an elderly passenger to board the flight.
Requesting unattainable documents for the day of our flight and presenting conflicting statements. One guy Mr Shahab Uddin took photos of our boarding passes and passports on his personal mobile. Absurd!!
Cabin crew lead staff said my dad can’t board as he’s had a heart operation 7 years ago.
Due to their ego and total regard of consideration we had to fork out an additional £285 to travel back to the U.K.

If they put the price down then we wouldn't have to fly with other airlines. Because of direct flight from UK to sylhet, they charge unimaginable & unacceptable money and they don't realise not everyone can afford that money. I would highly recommend them to stop the corruption and put a fair & reasonable price for the people of bangladesh and let us to fly with you more often.

Great service. I travelled to Sylhet on the direct flight from London Heathrow. I purchased wifi on board. Managed to make calls and text. Which was great. Few times lost connection. Food was very nice. Will recommend.

Horrible airline, no response to complaints
The plane left late due to weather warnings, missed my next flight due to this.
When I went to the airport staff to help, they said there's nothing they can do and told me to call my travel agent. It was 4:30am in London at the time. Ridiculous service, none of them know what's going on.
Have sent a complaint on Mar 21, 2023, hoping to get a response.
Shocking business class cabin crew

Tried Bangladesh Biman to Sylhet (direct) again after a poor experience a few years ago, but this time in business class with my wife and parents, hoping they had improved. My parents are elderly; therefore, the object was to make their journey as comfortable as possible. My mother needs a wheelchair and any standing or walking for her causes a great deal of discomfort.
Food – Average (both ways), in business class it should have been better.
Seats – Already booked seats were changed twice by BB both ways without informing us that they had done this.
Cabin crew – On the return journey were very poor.
Front business class toilet – Cabin crew intentionally engaged the toilet for 95% of the return journey forcing every business class passenger (even the elderly) to the rear where they had to queue in economy class. Something my mother had to endure. She was sent to the rear toilet and then had to stand in a queue for 15+ minutes for the restroom. The toilet at the front was working. The cabin crew did not care...very Islamic....Shameful…
Price – In excess of £7500.00 for 4 business class tickets (2 adults + 2 pensioners).
I would rather travel by road to Moulvibazar from Dhaka than use Biman again. Sylhet is the only reason BB is a viable business, without that they cannot continue. The only way to teach BB that they need a change of attitude and to respect their customers is to stop using the airline. That's what I intend to do. I will go to Dhaka with an alternative airline instead and then travel the rest of my journey by road.
I emailed them and the directors 3 times on my return for an explanation of why this happened and still no reply since 3rd December 2022. A simple question that no one at BB can answer, not even the directors.
I will never use Bangladesh Biman again.
Complete lie when they say no tickets available
They ticket sale on the website is a complete fraud and shambles they play with there customers head they increase the price whenever they want they will say all the tickets are not av et not available when they are I went to book me and my two child it says there only one ticket available this is not correct they have over 70 seats available as if I select to book one seat it gives me the option to chose a seat out of 70 they have available they are pure corruption and greed new generation will not holday here as it is stressful to book let alone go to there 3world run down country shocking there’s been rumers for years they sell Most there tickets to agency go then resell for profit and if they carnt sell it that’s why there are so many empty seats on the plane when traveling

Excellent service from staff
I was travelling with Biman from Kolkata to Dhaka Bangladesh where I was making a connecting flight to Dubai with Emirates. I was unable to check-in online with Emirates as the journey started with Biman from Kolkata, so I was really unsure how to check in and get the boarding pass for my emirates flight.
The Biman staff at the baggage check-in in Kolkata airport went to great lengths to make sure I was in safe hands, helping me through immigrations, and had a staff member waiting for me at the gate who explained that they had notified the staff in Dhaka where I could collect my tickets at the transit desk.
Similarly the Biman staff in Bangladesh were great, very reassuring and retrieved the tickets for me when I presented at the desk.
