I have deposited over $1000 USD and as…
I have deposited over $1000 USD and as soon as I tried to withdraw my account was frozen. I have talked to them and emailed them multiple times and they only say they are working on it. I'm guessing they do not put our money in a segregated account and so when they run short they freeze our accounts until they can repay. I will never use them again.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! Bitstamp are scamming people. My withdrawals blocked for no reason, 31 day passed, no updates, nothing. Only scripted responses. It's only 400gbp, they don't let me withdraw, just keeping my money without saying anything to me.
Technically competent, overbearing and intrusive in their processes
In the end my experience with Bitstamp was marred by two specific occurrences:
- on the one hand I found the process which is required to unlock the Withdraw Funds feature very intrusive, e.g. if you tell them you heard about them from a friend they will require you to tell them his/her email address
- their recent inactivity fee policy for accounts below 200 € is a blatant move to get rid of ordinary small investors who, especially now that crypto currencies are bombing, would only stand to lose from buying or selling
Bitstamp is the worst exchange! DONT USE IT
Bitstamp is the worst exchange!
The Support Team answer only with copy paste texts since October 2021 > WE HAVE JUNE 2022 NOW!
I lost $12.000 !
Guys what are you doing the whole day?? Every other Exchange can solve lost transaction in 2-4 Weeks... Isn't 8 Month enough?
Scammer!!
Bitstamp locked my funds
Waiting for a long time to get 55k back cant withdraw or send it off the account when i ask what the problem is they answer that it will be solved but there is still no end in sight a really bad support it dont matter if u call, mail, use live chat or by facebook or anny other platform when they get a hard question they nust ignore it
You don't have a clue about the frustration.
Everytime you want to make a withdrawal you are blocked for some reason due to KYC. Getting fed up doing business with this company. I can't even send funds back to my bank to buy a flight this week. The only thing you are sure of is that they will keep your crypto/money and you need to go on your knees to get it back.
It's far from real!
It's far from real!! Be careful when dealing with online investment.
I engaged online 'scam trace' got me back on feet. Have learnt in a hard way.
They do not comply with GDPR and data…
They do not comply with GDPR and data removal requests. I asked them to delete all my data (twice) and after a month I still get their emails.
Bitstamp stole $13730 from me
Another horrible Bitstamp review. Oh how I wish I had seen this Trustpilot page before using Bitstamp.
A KYC review started in late December.
Every document they requested had been attached to their KYC ticket by Dec 31. They have not mentioned a single problem with my documents.
It is now Feb 15 and still no resolution.
During this time, on at least two separate occasions, Bitstamp support reassured me on the phone that, as long as I was cooperating with their KYC, I would not lose access to my account features (ie. deposits/withdrawals).
I arranged to receive a $13730 crypto deposit in my Bitstamp wallet. When the funds took longer than usual to arrive, I logged in to Bitstamp and find out that, lo and behold, my account features have been disabled without any notice whatsoever.
They acknowledge having received the funds, but it is now 12 days and counting that I still don’t have access to them.
On 3 or 4 different tickets, I have asked what the fate of these funds depends on, and how they can possibly justify holding them indefinitely even though the funds arrived after Bitstamp had already disabled deposits.
No one has given me any answer, and thus the only conclusion that I can draw is that they have stolen my money.
There is no reason why any human should ever come anywhere near this company.
non-serious platform
après quelques transactions réussi , ils vont supprimer le depot par carte bancaire dans ton compte, je ne recommande pas et pourtant j'avais déjà noté 5/5 avant de changer la note
after a few successful transactions, they will delete the deposit by credit card in your account, I do not recommend and yet I had already noted 5/5 before changing the note
Started to use Bitstamp after MtGox…
Started to use Bitstamp after MtGox demise. They were an excellent exchange at that time. This year something happened. I discovered this when I made a fiat withdrawal which was according to their explanation miss-routed and I received money after 3 weeks. I tried again but again I faced similar problem which they never explained.
Avoid them.
I think they have near zero liquidity.
They let your money in, but won't let it out
We recently submitted some fiat funds to Bitstamp (on recommendation as a purchase platform) and bought some crypto.
I now want to transfer some of that crypto to another account (Nexo). However they are refusing to allow my account to send out funds from the platform. It has now been a week, they have asked for identification and we did a video with them with licences for ID and now we wait and they keep fobbing us off with "you have priority on your support ticket' but nothing happens. They were good and quick with good prices for the purchase but now our findas are stuck and we are missing other investment opportunities.
So my advice for now is steer clear of this platform as when they get hold of your funds they won't let go on them.
I will update this review with the resolution, assuming there is one.
Regards, C+S James
Once again Bitstamp has sent an email…
Once again Bitstamp has sent an email claiming to want to help resolve my issue my issue with them. But in fact they ask for the same info! You, REALLY DON'T NEED TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! Too many HONEST companies out there
Borderline Fradulent
Do not do business with them. Decent fees but 5-7 business to make a crypto withdrawal, even with debit card. If it’s mentioned on their website (which I doubt) they seem to intentionally hide this.
Bitstamp Holding & Froze My Withdrawals For No Reason!
Having been a client for the past 2 years and 4 month. I went through full KYC and AML at point of onboarding and have furnished their compliance department with all the documents they requested.
Now, after having my account fully verified for the past 2.4 years , i find myself in this predicament with our friends at Bitstamp.
I even filled out their "Additional information form" (Online) back in February 2019.
Below is the message i received from Bitstamp:
Dear ####,
thank you for using our services.
We are reaching out to inform you that upon further review of your account, an additional KYC (Know Your Customer) procedure is required in order for you to continue using our trading services.
We kindly ask you to attach any relevant financial documentation, which can confirm how the funds that you will be depositing to your Bitstamp account were acquired (salary payslip/employment contract/tax revenue statement/personal bank account statement showing your salary transactions or any similar documentation) in a reply to this ticket.
Should you require any assistance, please let us know.
We thank you for your understanding and look forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Having read all the post on reddit & Trustpass from customers who have gone through all this stress and inconvenience, im now very stressed that Bitstamp will put me through the same ordeal that other customers have gone through.
I can not make any crypto withdrawals. I have never wired or withdrew any Fiat since i opened my account. I trade BTC, ETH, LTC and XRP via USD or BTC.
My account balance stands at around $80,000+ in crypto & $USD.
I'm not happy at all with the way people are being treated at Bitstamp. Furthermore i have recommended my friends and associates to use Bitstamp over the past years and this is how Bitstamp treats their customers. I truly feel that my funds & assets are being held hostage and the uncertainty is rather overwhelming!
After reading what a lot of Bitstamp customers have/are going through, i think it's best for me to get in contact with my lawyer and let him deal with this problem as i don't wish for my funds/ crypto assets to be held/frozen for an indefinite period of time!
I have advised all my friends and associates to with withdraw all their assets from these crooks!
@trustpilot
Kindly stop taking down peoples reviews !
Would be worthy if you checked out Bitstamp customer reviews via Reddit!
"I confirm this review is about my own genuine experience. I am eligible to leave this review, and have not been offered any incentive or payment to leave a review for this company."
Thank you.
I´ve been using Bitstamp for 4 years+…
I´ve been using Bitstamp for 4 years+ and never had an issue but now that have jump to the dark side. Bitstamp is now freezinf peoples accounts, kidnapping money and even worst, stealing it.
I don´t what would Oliver Blower, Jong Hyun Hong, Hendrik Ghys and Nejc Kodrič have to say about it but I will definitively go plublic not only on internet but I will go to press and the news in Luxembur and New York for one of them to respond. Either they knnow what is happeneing or their employees are stealing peoples money wihtout their consent.
My account is blocked from withdrawals for NO reason. I would understand this if I was a cnew client, or I was opening my first account where they need my documents.....but I have been with them 4+ years....Now, I just found out that the last 24-48 hours they have done the same thing to at least 100 people which a team of reporters is already investigating. At the same time I talked to a lawyer in Luxemburg so if anyone else wants to join me in a public legal claim is welcome to contact me. I can not and will not let these people steal my hard earned money just because they want.

reliable
reliable, never experienced downtime
could improve the product experience to have more features for advanced users
I would give it zero stars if I could
I would give it zero stars if I could. From a shady platform to the absence of customer service. Crooks and thieves. Go with Coinbase.
Shady exchange
Shady AF exchange, wanted me to jump through hoops just to pass their KYC process, utter bulls**t after many failed attempts at their crap ID interface and dealing with their 'customer service' I gave up. Looking at prior reviews SO glad I didn't buy any crypto from these crooks as its just another wolf in sheeps clothing exchange designed to deceive after making it look all genuine from the safety process, looks like once they have your funds - you're screwed, wave good bye to your investment. Avoid, far far better exchanges out there tbh.
