Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the high prices, finding the cost of tickets, food, and other services to be excessive and a rip-off. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with the service, including rides constantly breaking down, long queues, and poor organization, which led to a disappointing visit. The quality of the park was also a concern, with many feeling it was run down, dirty, and lacked upgrades, especially given the high entry fees. I’m really disappointed with our visit…

I’m really disappointed with our visit to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. We came to celebrate my son’s birthday, expecting a fun and memorable day, but it ended up being a real letdown.

Half of the rides were either closed or broke down during the day, which left us queueing for long periods only to be turned away. Some of the attractions we’d been most looking forward to weren’t even operating at all. For the price of tickets, I expected far better organisation and maintenance.

It’s such a shame, because this was meant to be a special day for my son, but instead we left feeling frustrated and short-changed. Definitely not the experience we were hoping for.

Ride Malfunction, Lack of Support and Customer Care During and After Visit

My wife and 6-year-old son visited Pleasure Beach Resort in July 2025, and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience due to a ride malfunction on SpongeBob’s Splash Bash. The ride stopped unexpectedly, leaving them soaked and exposed to the cold for an extended period. My son was shivering and visibly distressed, and my wife — who is not fluent in English — received no assistance or guidance from staff during or after the incident.

They were completely unaware of any drying facilities, and no signage or support was provided. They tried to continue with the day only because I was unfortunately not around until the end of the day and couldn’t bring them back to our hotel. It was absolutely not because they were enjoying themselves (as the park’s customer service has postulated). In fact, they had to skip the much-anticipated ice show entirely due to the discomfort caused by being wet and cold for the remainder of the visit.

After contacting the park, we received a disappointingly dismissive response with no recognition of the distress caused and no gesture of goodwill. Instead, they stated that they felt “value for money was fulfilled” based on the number of rides used — ignoring the fact that those rides were experienced while wet and miserable. They even pointed out that the tickets were purchased on a discount, as if that excused the situation.

As a word of caution to other parents or carers, particularly those visiting with young children or guests who may not speak fluent English: if something goes wrong, don’t expect much help. The lack of empathy, communication, and follow-up care was deeply disappointing.

We sincerely hope the park reviews how it handles such incidents and takes more responsibility in supporting vulnerable guests when things don’t go to plan.

Worst theme park experience EVER!!

Will have to write this as Blackpool removed my misses review and was taken down,

AVOID THIS PLACE, PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY, AND RUIN YOUR KIDS DAY.

paid £300 for 4 of us to get there the 3 main rides shut, 120 min time for all rides, so bought fast pass tickets £120, we were there all day, fast pass nope, 4 rides all day we got on, that place just wants to take as much money as possible off everyone, its an absolute tip inside, went to use our fast pass on avalanche, so booked it says come back in 60 mins, best bit was the normal queue was about 20 mins, so how on earth is that faster haha, the fast pass isn't worth £5 never mind £120, you can't do anything till its time to go on your ride what is the point, you can only book 1 at a time, kids would of had more fun in a pound shop than that place, emailed them to be ignored this is why I am here,

PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE

Hot Ice Show – A Dazzling, Must-See Blackpool Experience

I had the pleasure of attending the Hot Ice Show at Blackpool Pleasure Beach with my wife recently, and we were completely blown away. For two unforgettable hours, we were immersed in a theatrical spectacle of world-class figure skating, set to a stirring soundtrack and illuminated by an extraordinary light show.

The choreography was nothing short of brilliant — precise, expressive, and packed with energy. Every skater brought their A-game, gliding through powerful routines with finesse and passion that you could feel from the very back row. The entire production was seamless: music, lighting, staging — all elevated the performance into something cinematic and magical.

Whether you’re a longtime skating fan or simply looking for a unique night out, Hot Ice is a show that deserves a spot on everyone’s summer agenda. It’s elegant, exciting, and entirely unforgettable. Definitely one of Blackpool’s crown jewels — a hidden gem that delivers West End-quality entertainment with a Northern soul.

We had the worst visit to Blackpool…

We had the worst visit to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and have been treated like dirt from the customer services.

Managed to get on two rides. Stood in a queue for valhalla for 2 hours and 30 minutes in boiling hot weather that people were getting sick for the ride to break down and get shut after waiting in line for 2 hours and 30 mins in 30 degrees heat. Went to customer service to make a complaint for them to say they do not offer refunds but could give another day to come back but it would have to be before November this year, we told them we could not come back this year we was offered the email address to ask for a extension for summer 2026 as we would be happy to come back then unfortunately that did not happen.

The email we sent them:

Hello

My partner and I visited the Pleasure Brach on Saturday the 12th of July. While at the Pleasure Beach we queued up for Valhalla which was an extremely long wait, around 2 and a half hours, because the ride kept breaking down. Once we were close to the end of the queue the ride was closed for the rest of the day due to malfunctions. The weather was incredibly hot and sunny and there was no shade or covering over the queue and nobody handed out water to the guests, to the point where many people left the queue due to becoming weak from the heat, this seems like a dangeorous health and safety oversight. Because of the queue we only managed to get on 2 rides during our visit. We made a complaint at Guest Services and we were offered a date to return, but the dates only go until November this year and we won't be returning this year. So, I would like to request a refund of the cost of our tickets, or a return date for the 2026 summer season.

Thank you.
Kind regards,
Shannon.

The email they sent back:

Hi Shannon,

Thank you for your message, and we're sorry to hear your visit on Saturday 12th July didn’t meet expectations.

We do apologise for the extended wait time and eventual closure of Valhalla. While our team works hard to minimise disruptions, on occasion technical issues can occur - particularly on complex rides like Valhalla - and guest safety must always come first.

We understand it was a particularly hot day, and we appreciate that this added to the discomfort while queuing, however, we must note that the decision to remain in a queue is entirely at the discretion of each guest. Wait times for all rides are listed on our official app to help guests plan their day and make informed decisions. Additionally, water is available to purchase from the kiosk located within the Valhalla queue line.

All guests affected by the stoppage were offered a complimentary return visit, which we feel is a fair and reasonable resolution in line with our policies. As per our booking terms and conditions, tickets are non-refundable, and while we understand you may not be able to return this year, we are unfortunately unable to extend the return offer into the 2026 season.

We do hope you’ll be able to make use of the return visit before the end of this season and thank you again for your feedback.

Kind Regards,

Another Email we sent back:
Thank you for the reply.
The wait time was extended by the constant malfunctions of Valhalla, malfunctions that have become incredibly common since it was revamped, so the wait time listed on the app was inaccurate.
Theme parks queues are a regular part of visiting a park. My trip to Disneyland Paris earlier this year had many queues, but they never left their customers in a situation like the Valhalla queue and they never lied about the wait times.
Also, people don’t usually just leave the queue for a ride once they have sunk time from their visit into waiting. Imagine a theme park where people just left every queue.
If you can’t extend the return visit into next year then I would like a refund of my and my partner’s tickets.
I paid good money to go to the park and ride the rides and due to deceptive wait times and a constantly malfunctioning ride I was unable to ride more than 2 rides. I think your offer of a return visit within this season is unfair unless you will cover my hotel and train ticket costs.
Kind regards,
Shannon

There reply email:

Dear Shannon,
Thank you for taking the time to share your comments.

We do appreciate your frustration and are sorry your visit was impacted. However, all guests affected by the Valhalla closure were offered the same resolution of a return visit valid until the end of the 2025 Season. We believe this is a fair and consistent approach, and we have nothing further to add.

Thank you again for getting in touch.

As a loyal customer for 20 years this is ridiculous. You should make sure your staff know that you dont do extended times as we was told by your staff you did.

Lots rides permanently closed e.g

Lots rides permanently closed e.g. cars, dodgems, merry go round, mine, red arrows? etc which is a waste of what should be precious space in a theme park. Seems badly run and inefficient e.g the fairy cabs and hot air balloons is painstakingly slow, the staff have to unlock each individual car when finished then lock and check seat belt on each one before it starts. Not enough new rides and generally very run down, needs lock of paint in most places etc. £30 fast pass is pretty useless as book a ride and around an hour later you can go on it (after having to click quite a few buttons on the app to get it to work). Not great value for money.

Thanks you so much Amanda and team for your nurturing and repair of the Grand National! It’s now running better than ever and as any experienced coaster enthusiast would admit, is now the best ride on the park! Thanks for that and can you do the same now for the last half of the Dipper!!!!

So sad to see the decline of a once amazing theme park

Booked 3 non ride adult tickets and one adult ride ticket along with a child's ride ticket, cost over £170 which was extremely expensive given 3 of us were just walking around the park. Disappointed that some of the oldest most loved rides were no longer there or left closed down and derelict, no mention of this on the website. A number of rides were closed until later in the day, again no mention on the website to give you a heads up. Most of the arcades within the park had the shutters closed, some opened around 3 pm then were unable to use some of the attractions/ shops as no card machine and wouldn't take cash. Overall it was a pretty disappointing day, and quite sad to see the park in such a sorry state.
Have always been a fan of Blackpool Pleasure Beach but today has put me off ever going back.

Not good for disabled guests

We applied for a Digital Access Pass for our disabled children, which was a very comprehensive process, requiring a lot of evidence and ID, but they were granted. We were given 2 Essential Companions, Standing and Queuing, along with Urgent Access to Toilets. We were given the cards to log our time rides, wrist bands and entered the park.

We had successfully used the passes and the kids were enjoying themselves, despite struggling with the heat and sensory issues. On the afternoon, they had asked to ride the Avalanche. We couldn’t see the Quick Ride Access entry point. I asked a member of staff near the ride; he was unable to help and directed us to the Alpine Fast food place (right opposite the ride itself). This was around 14:00 - 14-30. I spoke to a female member of staff that informed us there wasn’t a rapid access entry for this ride. She informed me that, she used to work on that ride and that if we joined the queue now, she estimated that we’d only have to wait around 20 minutes. I showed the member of staff the rapid access pass and said there should be a rapid entry point, as there was only 2 rides on the park that didn’t have them (Ghost Train and Krusty Krab), and this ride wasn’t one mentioned. She told me the access pass we were given was old and incorrect information, she insisted there wasn’t one and so we joined the queue. This kids really wanted to go in this ride. After waiting over 40 minutes in the queue, with 2 very overstimulated children, we entered the stalls as we were next on the ride. Only to look across and see there was a rapid access to the ride.

After leaving the ride I spoke to the female member of staff that had told us there wasn’t no rapid access entry. To inform her there was and point out the tiny, very easily missed sign at the back of the ride. I did this, as I didn’t want any other families to have this experience, so I quickly informed the park manager of this too, before leaving the park. I told him about one member of staff not knowing at all and not being able to help, so he directed us to another female member of staff, who not only gave us incorrect information, but also advised us that there was no rapid access to this ride. He advised me to write this email to make you aware of this.

After waiting in the queue, one of our kids was completely overstimulated and wanted to leave. Our other child went on one more ride and we had to leave. This spoilt their day, completely. Having Autism should not mean they can’t enjoy their day out like everybody else. This is why we went through the extensive process of applying for Digital Access Pass to try and ensure reasonable adjustments were in place. This is part of the Equality Act 2010, meaning they should be able to access the park like everyone else and enjoy their day. Unfortunately, we left the park early and returned home. Very disappointing, prior to this, our children were having a good time. One that we still payed £100 for and didn’t get the full experience they should have.

Great with a few bugs

The wait times unfortunately on a Saturday were sickening, we won't go again unless we have the speedy pass. But other than that it was great! Good food options and the rides are great for all the family. I wish they wouldn't close certain rides on the day without notice, we were looking forward to the grand national ride!

Blackpool is not the same anymore

I went to Blackpool with my family after 4 years, and I will never go again. You can't take your own food in anymore, and the food there is overpriced. There are lockers where you can put your bags in but you have to pay prices start from £6 You have to input your card details to pay because I didnt have my card on me I ended up putting my bag in my car which was a 10min walk. I took a drink out, which I thought would be ok, but the guy said no drinks allowed. I just told him to bin in as i wasn't walking back to the car again. When the kids were hungry, we ended up eating in our car. This wasted probably about an hour. Valhalla opened at 2pm, there were rides that were closed. It is absolutely ridiculous. Blackpool is no longer the same. I definitely won't be returning.

Went I the pleasure beach the 7th…

Went to the pleasure beach the 7th April. Was in the park 9.50-5 and Didn’t have to queue that long for most rides longest was 20-25mins for avalanche and got on the big one twice in a row without queuing more than 10 mins. Took my 6yr daughter who loved it. Weather was great, staff were fine, big dipper and ice blast the only 2 rides that weren’t working so no big deal. overall a brilliant day.

We have been to the park on a Monday the last 2 visits and the queues aren’t too bad so maybe an Idea to go during the week and not the weekends if you don’t want to queue for to long.
