Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 131 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the social media platform to be toxic and filled with bullying, with numerous accounts containing offensive posts that are seemingly allowed. Customers reported issues with account creation and shadow banning, even without posting content, and experienced difficulties trying to leave the platform. The website itself was often described as slow, full of ads, and hard to navigate, with help pages leading users in circles. Reviewers frequently mentioned strict moderation, inconsistent treatment, and censorship, where posts are removed or users banned for expressing differing opinions. Some also noted that moderators control narratives and that genuine discussions are often replaced by echo chambers. However, a few people felt that the platform's restrictions and moderation, though sometimes misunderstood, actually help prioritize substance and lead to more personalized discussions.

Sneaky, wasting a lot of my time

Sneaky: they hide posts so nobody can see them. But they keep them visible to me, as if everything was okay. And they don't tell me anything. Such a miserable cowardly behaviour! Soon, I found out that many other reddit users experienced the same. In my case, this was particularly painful: I have written a really long elaborate post with scientific references hoping that it is useful for other people. I wondered that there was not a single response for months inspite of a new and hot topic. But then, other Reddit users found another post of mine that linked to this long post. They have alerted me that the long post is not visible... So I started finding out more about the issue... :-(
If Reddit would have honestly told me the there is whatever problem with my long post, I would have been happy to correct. But this sneaky nasty behavior is the last drop in my history with Reddit, which was so far already littered with problems, mostly tech bugs and user unfriendliness...

Toxic Platform

Reddit is just another corporation-owned social media platform that has been ruined.

The upvoting and downvoting system enables a toxic popularity contest echo chamber. Subreddits requiring a certain amount of karma points is not fair considering people abuse the downvoting system based on bias. It makes new users have a toxic environment where they have to walk on eggshells for avoiding low karma. Not a friendly nor open-minded environment when you got toxic crybabies with a victim complex downvoting instead of being decent people.

What makes Reddit be a joke is its virtue signalling double standards. People are allowed to criticize Christianity but not Islam on it despite good faith arguments.

Bugs are the technical issues that have a hard time getting solved. I had to log into old.reddit.com several times because the new site would not let me get logged in at all. Sometimes I would get server errors. This is not careful site management considering millions use Reddit.

They don't tell you when your Reddit accounts gets shadowbanned. Your posts, comments, and private messages will be visible to you. But not to everyone else. Not even when you log out.

So, I wouldn't recommend Reddit's platform to anyone who wants a decent social environment.

Boringly predictable posts about politics, cats, dogs, sports, celebrity simping, and petty drama don't even make me feel like staying when the Kancel Kulture Karen klan removes great posts on subreddits.

Extremely One-Sided and Favors the Left

Reddit is supposed to be a place for everybody to share their views, no matter what side. However, if you're Christian and/or right-leaning... don't bother. You WILL get downvoted into oblivion, criticized, or even deleted if your posts have the least little bit of conservative or Christian content.

Yet the atheists and liberals can post even the ugliest things such as “your sky daddy this and imaginary friend that”, “M*rder Trump”, “MAGA are crybaby snowflakes”, “Republicans are racist, hateful, homophobic bigots”, “If you celebrated Roe vs. Wade being overturned, go **** yourself”, et cetera and it's perfectly okay.

The platform is a nest full of lefties who will use any excuse to mute, downvote, and bully those who simply don't agree with them. Some of my posts got deleted for "not having any user flair"... and that was on one of their EXTREMELY RARE conservative pages! Also there is the rampant use of profanity. What happened to basic respect (again, regardless of which way you lean)? Last I checked, this was a free nation and not 1984.

It is VERY ironic that Reddit is so-named. They need to change their name to Bluedit.

Terrible... Horrible platform...

Terrible... Horrible... Impossible platform... Most posts are instantly or quickly deleted for no good reasons... People are blocked from posting by anyone by down voting and receiving negative comment karma. Restrictions, deletions, bans, server errors... bugs on top of bugs on top of bugs on top of server error again... Impossible... How in the world this awful fascist platform is popular on Google search results?

Boycott.

Wild west on Internet

As a former Reddit user, I am deeply disappointed with how the platform handles user privacy and content removal. I previously posted personal content, including my own photographs, under accounts that I later deactivated. After deciding I no longer wanted this material to remain public, I discovered there was no effective way to have it removed, even though I was the original creator.

I submitted multiple removal requests through Reddit’s official channels and contacted support, but received only automated responses and requests for additional technical justification instead of practical help. Even when explaining that the posts and comments belonged to my now-deleted accounts, the content remained online with no clear path to resolution.

As a result, personal content continues to circulate without my consent, and attempts to resolve the situation through official support have led nowhere. This creates the impression of a platform that is unresponsive to legitimate privacy concerns and leaves former users without meaningful control over their own material.

Anyone who values long-term control over personal content and online privacy should carefully consider these risks before posting.

Reddit silently restricts accounts with no warning or explanation. Your profile can disappear, content hidden, and there’s zero transparency. The platform feels toxic — full of fake, rude people and power-tripping mods who ignore their own rules. It’s not a place for regular people. The whole experience is just garbage.

Terrible platform

Terrible platform. The 'karma' system is sinister, it's like that dystopian social credits system from Black Mirror. If you say something not incorrect, just unpopular, your kudos score is destroyed pretty much forever by vindictive people. Then once in a blue moon you'll post one comment on a thread, then try to post a second comment, and a creepy message saying, 'It looks like you've been doing that a lot lately, take a break for ten minutes' appears. Are you being serious? Pathetic.

Reddit is CANCER

Reddit silently restricts user accounts without notice. They can make your profile inaccessible, remove your avatar, and hide your content — all without telling you a word. There’s no transparency at all. This kind of shadow moderation is real and has affected many users. Mods and Admins are doing whatever they want at any given time.

Also, Big part of the community are mentally ill people, weirdos and outcasts of society. Full of fake hypocrite people who just look to buy replicas to enhance their fake life. this is not a place for "normal" people unless you need help with something specific.

This site is simply cancer, people are disgusting behind their keyboard, mods are losers in life who don't even follow their own rules... f*** this cancer site and whoever invented this cancer. I hope everyone involved with creating this site dies by a very slow decapitation.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Reddit

I had a highly unsatisfactory experience with Reddit. The service was delayed beyond the promised timeframe, and communication was virtually nonexistent. Despite multiple attempts to reach out, I received no meaningful response or resolution.

The lack of professionalism and accountability was evident throughout the process. It's disheartening to see such disregard for customer satisfaction. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously and implements necessary improvements to prevent similar issues for future customers.

Reddit sucks

Reddit sucks. Especially if you trying to post an original post. The moderators are "bots" and claim you didn't do this or that or that my question is easily answered in their FAQ section, which none of what I am asking will be anywhere in Reddit due to the rarity of the question. So dumb. I was kinda liking Reddit until I wanted to post my own post. But the Bots are too annoying to work around. If real people moderated I am sure it would be way different since real people are not looking for so called "key words" that get your post rejected. Horrible.
