Trap - Don’t do the £1.99 subscription, terrible customer service

Charged my account £327 for a 1 year subscription- ahead of time, customer service is rubbish.

I wasn’t aware the subscription was up for renewal. Attempted to contact costumer service on the day my subscription renewed, explained the situation. No offer of assistance or even a partial refund. Cheap initial figure is a trap to empty your bank account with each surprise increase.

Big mark up, when the vast majority of analysis is available through other mediums, or for a marginal subscription cost. Bloomberg really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, they just charge a lot of money.

Very dishonest practice. Dont even accept the trial

I opted for the trial one-year subscription at the trial price. They charged me for the full price!! I tried to reach out via email and chat. They emailed back and said it has been resolved. What? No one reached out to me. How was it resolved? Very very dishonest practice.

I do not know much about their products…

I do not know much about their products to investment professionals worldwide, but I have heard that they are very expensive. What I want to talk about is their website. I like their website very much since I read a lot of news and headlines from their website, it is also very nice to be able to change the geograpical edition on their website, so that I can take a quick tour as to which news are trending in whhich geography. High quality news, eloquent language, very professional.

Title: "Unresolved Subscription Dispute - Seeking Assistance"

I am writing this review to share my frustrating experience with Bloomberg, a renowned news and financial information platform. Two years ago, I subscribed as a student and was charged an extra $100 that I recently discovered wasn't warranted. What's even more disappointing is their refusal to refund this overcharge.

Despite my explanations and evidence, Bloomberg's customer support insists that the refund must be credited back to the same card I used three years ago, which has since expired. This stance not only disregards the practicality of the situation but also demonstrates a lack of understanding about the constraints faced by customers in different countries.

While $100 might appear trivial, it holds significant value in my country. To put it into perspective, one has to work for months to accumulate such an amount. I am not disputing the subscription itself; rather, I am merely requesting a fair resolution for an overcharge that should have never occurred in the first place.

I hope that by sharing my experience here, someone from Bloomberg might come across this review and help me find a feasible solution. I believe in the integrity of Bloomberg's services and its commitment to customer satisfaction. Resolving this issue would reaffirm my trust in their platform and restore my faith in their customer support.

I kindly request a reconsideration of their refund policy, taking into account the circumstances and difficulties customers face in various regions. It's my hope that Bloomberg can address this matter promptly and transparently, showcasing their dedication to resolving customer concerns regardless of the amount involved.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I remain optimistic that my issue will be acknowledged and resolved amicably.

Sincerely,
Omar AL-Hajaya

Poor customer service

My company has been a client of Bloomberg's professional services for over 7 years. The customer service is appalling: they hardly contacted us during the timeframe, you have to mention instructions at least twice and the removal required four emails until they acknowledged it. At the same time, they increased their fees at an outrageous rate with a simple standard email that often ends up in the spam box. Then you are locked in for two years. The interface has hardly changed in 20 years and it still looks like MS-Dos, but they are the standard for financial information in the industry. It is a shame that they can afford to have poor customer service.

Terrible customers service

Terrible customers service, not customer focused. Subscription taken without authorization. No information on subscription that are active under account management. Also, the news are also available on other providers. Not recommended.

I contacted Bloomber customer services…

I contacted Bloomber customer services and asked for quote to replace door seal. Was quoted £135 for 30 mins work. I requested an engineer to attend and was informed they would contact me within 48 hours to arrange a visit. After 3 days i phoned again and was informed my details were not on their system for engineer to call me.
After giving my details again, was told engineer would contact me within 24 hours.
I am still waiting some 5 days later.
I have contact local engineer who informed me he doesn't repair Bloomberg machines as he cant get parts delivered but would charge £115
Customer service is non existent failing in all aspect of customer after sales care. RUBISH,

Cannot cancel subscription

Cannot cancel subscription once payment is processed. I subscribed it for 2 years, and got automatically renewed. To be fair, they did send me a renewal notice, however, given the number of emails Bloomberg send out, I missed it. I get charged again. They would not do a partial refund, so I am out of 545 for 2 more years. The publication is not bad, but definitely not worth the $$$. If you want to try the subscription, use a virtual card that auto cancel. Not exactly a consumer friendly business to deal with.

Abysmal Customer support. Truly unbelievable for a so called professional organisation

I just called Bloomberg using the contact number on the website +44 20 7330 7500. The call was immediately taken by the dopiest guy I have spoken to in months. He was clueless, completely unprepared, unsupported and didn't have any idea what I was talking about. All I needed was a ticker symbol for a particular bond so that I could get a graph/quote on the website. Pretty basic stuff. He had no access to second line or specialist support. Poor guy working from home, unqualified for the role and dumped in it by the Company. Hard to believe that this is the abysmal quality of Bloomberg's first line support.

Deceptive practices and unresponsive customer service

I was a customer that had automatic renewal. I received an email stating my subscription would renew on 07/01/2023 for 415 dollars almost twice what I paid the prior year. On the 7th of January my credit card company sent me a notice of a pending charge from Bloomberg for 415 dollars. I immediately signed into my Bloomberg account to cancel but found directions that I needed to contact customer support. It was Saturday and customer support is not opened on the weekend. I received an email that I would not receive a refund but the would not bill me next year. This is so wrong and misleading at best. I believe these are deliberate methods to bilk subscribers.

BUSINESSWEEK SHRINKS SUBSCRIPTIONS,CONTENT

I have noted the magazine going downhill in the last few years (long term subscriber, see later comments), but also in the last few years, they have also shrunk my subscription TWICE, moving the end date backward by a total of 3 months (Feb 24 to Dec 23 to Nov 23, the last just a week ago). They do NOT appear to have reduced the number of issues they skip yearly.

Having subscribed for many years, I note that useful, interesting content has been replaced with staff political opinions and social lectures. Some issues have half or more of the pages devoted to such stuff.

They are shorting me in both quality and quantity.
