Take your pet elsewhere for…

Take your pet elsewhere for emergencies. Hailey the receptionist was rude and behaved like she truly didn’t care about us or our pet. Put me on hold and then checked us in and said it would be a 3-4 hour wait. Thank God for Bay Beach emergency vets They were booked solid but managed to be empathetic and saw our sick dog gave her a shot to help and a diet for her ailment. I take my other dog to blue pearl for care with a specialist and she is fantastic. I think it’s a receptionist desk people issue they really are very rude it’s like some days you get a person who is a little polite and other visits you get someone like Hailey who just isn’t well suited to deal with the public.

This place is ALL about money

This place is ALL about money! Do NEVER bring your pet here! This is the second time I need to come here because of an emergency. To be clear, I just came for the second time because it’s a Sunday and the vet I trust it is not open. First of all you wait for hours, which doesn’t make any sense because it’s an emergency vet hospital, and second they take your pet and don’t even allow you to go with them! I’ve never seen this in my whole life! It’s absurd! They will try to keep your pet there saying that it’s the only option just to charge thousands of dollars! And to finish my disappointment vent, SUPER EXPENSIVE! Not worth at all for the service
VERY FRUSTRATED!!!

Worst experience ever

We recently took our 7 year old teddy bear puppy there after a groomer decided to give cbd oil to him to calm for a hair cut without our consent. He acted differently for 2 days, didn't eat or drink. Vet in Owen, Wisconsin gave IV and some shots, seemed ok until evening, he passed out. She told us take to Blue Pearl in Appleton. Closest one. 3 hours later we met vet. Felt very uncomfortable with her from beginning, she told us our dog should be dead by oxygen blood level, he was alert at time. Knew us and we spent some time with him, we were going to take him home and let it play out. She insisted on blood transfusion, wanted money paid right a way, more worried about payment than dog on his death bed, assuming everything would be fine on transfusion a 4 hour process, an hour in to it they called and asked about cpr again as we were sleeping in vehicle, went in to check on him an hour into it and they said things didn't go well, he was basically dead. The young woman vet bolted in back, never seen her again, were really doubt alot of procedures were ever done. Believe he was put down!!!!! Really sad. His body was cold when they brought him out to us, didn't make sense! Sick to our stomachs! Never again. $1700 later. I would have spent 5k! Money not the issue, very disappointed with vet's language on how the facility was more worried about payment up front before they would start anything if his condition was that critical! Won't ever happen again here! Asked the manager to ca us back, never heard anything after 3 weeks.

Worst experience ever at a…

Worst experience ever at a veterinarian. We were directed there from another horrible veterinarian West Madison Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort. We were told our dog could possibly die before the night was over from West Madison Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort. Blue Pearl requested $2300.00 to leave our pup and have them evaluate her, after spending $1400.00 at the other vet. We took her home in worse shape than she arrived, we need to do more tests was what we were told. Our 11 year old pup was not up to more aggravating tests. After a long internet search I figured out she had parasites and a $65.00 treatment took care of the problem.
They're more concerned about profits than the pets they take care of.

Terrible Customer Service!

I was not impressed with BluePearl Pet Hospital in Blaine. The lady who checked us in was very rude and not caring at all. We waited for 4 hours and 40 minutes in our car for our dog who had porcupine quills in his nose and lips. We could not leave because we did not know when they would see us. They also would not give us any estimate how long it would be. I thought the vet was fairly decent but if this is a corporation that cares about animals they should hire more vets and caring personnel. The cost was also outrageous and I feel robbed. I believe all they care about is their bottom line (money) and not the animals. I will research other places to go before I need an emergency vet again!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO BLUE PEARL

Please everyone who owns a pet please read. Know ahead of time where you will take your pet in an emergency when your Vet is closed. Do your research, read reviews, do not find out the hard way. Do not ever take you pet to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Chesapeake Va. I would not go to any of them they are a corporation that only cares about money, that is all. They do not care about your animal or you at all. They do not care that the pet is suffering, all they want is the money and as much as they can get form you. We had to take my beloved Kory there Friday Oct 1st at about 1pm. We told the Dr his symptoms and there was clearly something serious wrong, he had Cushing’s so we thought his medication be off he was also in pain clearly. Before they would do blood test or x-rays that we requested they brought in a $1000.00 bill of what they thought he needed of which a lot he did not. We finally got them to do the blood work and x-x-rays. They brought him back in briefly was not any better. Than they came back in and said they wanted to do a quick ultrasound we agreed. Then the Dr. came in and gave us the heartbreaking diagnosis of Hemangiosarcoma, maligant and internal bleeding said nothing could be done. It had most likely already spread. We agreed the best thing for him was to put him to sleep and out of pain.
But before they would bring him back in to do this, they had to make us wait almost a half hour going back and forth with the stupid bill and made sure they got paid first. There was not empathy, no show of compassion nothing. All about the money it makes me sick. They were going to get there damn money it was not about that it was about putting Kory out of pain. That was all I could think about. Of course the bill included private cremation is what they called it. We were so upset I asked several times where they would be taking him did not get a clear answer. We did leave him there (I would never again ever). Saturday started reading horrible horror stories about this corporation on line, putting pets to sleep that should not have been, losing ashes etc. Sunday morning called them and told them I want a complete copy of our records of Kory and Bill was coming to get them she said very rudely “We have to get permission first, you can’t have them” I said we paid you he is our dog, it’s our records. Then said Kory was still there, I said where is going and when she again would not give me a direct answer said they use multiple places. SO I hung up and started calling around and found the place that actually was supposed to pick Kory up but not till Tuesday tomorrow over 4 days after he died. The man was very nice and said didn’t they give you our brochure and explain everything to you I told him no they did not. He said he was very sorry and would pick Kory up today first thing and call me when he did and expedite everything and also we could pick up the ashes directly from him. I called Blue Pearl back and confronted the woman about not giving me any information or brochure she said and I quote “No one cares about that” and “no one asks her for any information ever” I said that has to be a lie unless you do not love your animal and that we had asked over and over. She said “WHATEVER”. So today Kory was picked up and is out of the horrible place and Bill called again third call saying we still do have Kory’s medical records she again says she will get permission and email them to us today. I call again at 5:50 tonight asked again final time, she said I told her already we have to get permission. I said I am opening a case with the BBB against your corporation. I want the medical records immediately and told her to ---- off. I have now opened a case with the BBB and will see what happens. I will never go to this horrible place again. I have another emergency medical hospital in Virginia Beach we are going to check out to have our ducks in a row for Keesha someday. I will never put her through what Kory went through. I asked this new place if they are going to argue about payment when an animal is dying she said no. They are also not a corporation. I am also going to find a surgeon if we ever need one. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU ARE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. I do feel Kory could not be saved buy if they have nothing to hide why not give us his records. I want my vet to look over the x-rays ultrasound etc. My Dr. did call this morning and left me a voice mail that she was very sorry about Kory and it was a silent killer so I guess she has some information from them. Anyone that think’s a pet is property should not have a pet or be in this industry as far as I am concerned. Kory is my baby and family, period. I will let Karma take care of the rest. I have not slept since Friday soundly. I will tonight knowing Kory is safe and not in the hand’s any longer.

Of course every emergency seems to…

Of course every emergency seems to happen after hours. My 6 month old schnauzer found the only spider I have ever seen in my garage and attacked it just like he does with June bugs. Well he got bit on his right paw and yelped. I managed to kill the spider and called BLUE PEARL in OKC OK. I was asked to send a picture of the culprit and they identified it as a WOLF SPIDER.
They are non venomous but can pack a powerful bite. The staff at BLUE PEARL were incredible as they could have told me to drive 40 miles to look at the bite. I watched my puppy through the night with no signs of discomfort or swelling. THANK YOU BLUE PEARL STAFF for being so kind and knowledgeable!!! I might change vets now.

My experience with blue Pearl was…

My experience with blue Pearl was horrific. I was bullied and shamed by the vets. Over and over again they wanted to put my cat down. I refused and then they blocked me from almost every vet in my town for follow up care. I paid the almost 15k for my cats care. My cat is still alive and doing well. He is only 2 years old and should recover just fine. The last time I was there the vet told me that I needed to put my cat down. I explained that he’s not dying and I wanted to see in a few days how he was doing. I needed his medicine which the vet kept refusing to give. My cats journey with blue Pearl is long and involved. The vets were rude and not just one. All of them were. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I wouldn't even give one star if it was an option. Took my dog in who was having trouble walking. I had just rescued him and had only had him a month. They made me wait in the car in the heat for an hour with him, then took him inside and left me out to wonder if they were even bothering to look at him. Another hour later they called and told me he had some kind of back issue that would cost me $9,000.00 to fix otherwise they recommended I euthanize him! I left and took him to my own vet who prescribed meds and within 3 weeks he is walking and playing and is doing great! DON'T take your sick pets to this vet. All they want is money. It's disgraceful.

I was exploited

I went to Blue Pearl to put down my dog , I was treated with disrespect, I was exploited and charged DOUBLE what other vet clinics charge. They lost my dog's ashes and didn't even apologize. Save yourself from being violated and go to Lasting Paws. R Jacobsen

They are the rudestvet I have ever seen .They don't deserve one star.My dog was very sick The temps were 109 degree ,they have you sit outside until they get enough gumption to get their ride but out to ask a few questions and take your money.Another couple was waiting for them and said they were at another blue pearl just earlier and and waited an hour before being spoken to .They told me to call poison control and get a case number to give them before they would see my dog.my phone was almost dead and I didn't have a charger, but I called poison control, they said it will cost 65.dollars for that call. The tech should have told me about that charge . I called into the office and said i want my dog back and my money. I did get both back.

No communication/no urgency

My beautiful 11 yr old diabetic Himalayan cat was put to sleep Tuesday night up at Blue Pearl Hospital in Oklahoma City, Ok. Please don't take your babies to this place. They don't communicate well and there is no urgency in treatment. My cat hadn't eaten since the prev Wed morning and they knew that. A cat who doesn’t eat for more than 48 hours is at risk for developing hepatic lipidosis, also known as fatty liver disease, which can be fatal if left untreated. I had addressed my fear of this to them which they should have already known. They admitted her on Thursday morn at 3 am and I advised them I thought she might have pancreatitis. They asked if I wanted an abdominal ultrasound and I declined not knowing why she would need that. I had a previous cat that was diagnoised with pancreatitis using a blood test. They told me they were going to run some blood tests so I assumed this would be included. They sent her home the next afternoon with her only eating a small amount and without diagnosing what was wrong. They advised me her blood work was ok so I assumed she didn't have pancreatitis after all. I took her back Saturday evening when she still wouldn't eat and they just hooked her back up to an IV. It was at that time that the E.R. doctor advised me that they now diagnois pancreatitis with ultrasound. Per their own website they should be running both tests. She didn't get a feeding tube until late Sunday afternoon after an ultrasound that could have been done on Friday if someone had told me that's how they now diagnose pancreatitis. Then they couldn't start feeding her until 9 pm that night. Too little, too late. 108 hours after her last half way decent meal. Now in addition to the pancreatitis that took forever to be diagnosed due to lack of communication, her liver was now failing. I also asked if she was getting anything for pain and the Dr said no. I asked why and she said because "she didn't think she was in pain!" This wasn't about what she thought. Cats hide pain. A cat in pain will not eat or drink. She needed pain meds. Tuesday afternoon she started having trouble breathing and the Dr couldn't determine the cause. I googled it and it's a symptom of the pancreatitis. Why didn't she know that? Why wasn't I told when I dropped her off and declined the ultrasound that this is now how they diagnois pancreatitis? Why wasn't a feeding tube done on Friday instead of sending her home when she still wasn't eating well and they hadn't diagnosed what was wrong? Why wasn't it done on Saturday when I brought her back? Why wasn't she given anything for pain? I trusted them to take care of her and they failed. Now I'm left with a HUGE vet bill and a dead cat and I feel like I let her down. Why should I have to insist on them doing procedures that they should know need to be done. I'm not a vet and that's what I'm paying them for and very well I might add. Don't ever assume someone knows what they are doing. The ER doctors that saw her and the 3 critical care Doctors that treated her were all incompetent. None of them showed any urgency in her case what so ever. I don't think they even care. It's just all about the money. When my son addressed his concern of what wasn't done with the Dr, she didn't want to discuss that. She just wanted to address her current condition and If we wanted to put her down. I don't know how they can sleep at night. I will never bring another one of my animals back to this hospital. My son and I are heart broken. She was his support cat. He is a quadriplegic in a power wheel chair and she was his everything. They had a bond like I have never seen before and probably never will never see again. It's going to take a long time to get over this if ever. I'm writing this review in hopes it will save someone else the heartache and financial stress that this has caused us. This is just unacceptable. We will always love you beautiful girl. You will live in our hearts and our memories forever. Rest in peace my sweet baby angel. Mamma tried to save you.

Great experience in Atlanta, Georgia

After reading all the horrible reviews left by pet owners, I was scared to take my Golden. But I have a great vet that highly recommended the Howell Mill Rd. Atlanta, Ga. or the Sandy Springs office. He had visited and toured there several times and said he would not hesitate to take his own pets. So in November, 2020 my Golden had TPLO surgery on his right knee. From the first visit to the last the staff was excellent. Dr. Tulipan did a great job and he healed very well. Of course it cost me almost $5000 but they are a specialty vet service like human doctors. They have the equipment and training that local vets do not have. I am so sorry for all the owners that had such bad experiences where they went. I don't know what I would do if I could not take my pet back for his second knee surgery this summer. Just so you know, it was my vet of 12 years that found the knee problems, not Blue Pearl.
