It's a shame you can't give less than 1*. Maybe I'm spoilt with my Tesla but the BMW software is appallingly glitchy, buggy, and unreliable. I would liken it to having an iPad and then swapping it for one of those Android tablets from Amazon for £20 that arrives from China 6 weeks later. It's truly dreadful. They provide semi-regular updates every few weeks but neglect to inform what they contain and I've now installed the last 4 and haven't noticed any changes at all. For a brand like BMW it's nowhere near good enough tech.

A horrendous piece of software. My pet hamster can develop something better.
Takes ages to send ventilation time. Once set you can't review nor do you know what time you set it.
Navigation is comical. The interior sat nav looks like it's been written by a child with crayons. Absurd menus.

‘A crock of fecal matter’

‘A crock of fecal matter’ is the best way I can describe the MyBMW app.
It almost never works, so is completely pointless!
You can set a pre condition for departure, but it rarely works and if you set it to repeat weekly for example, it deletes your setting every time you use the car.
I actually cannot think of a piece of tech or software that I have ever encountered that is less infuriating, useless, shoddy and utter dross as this lump of fecal matter of an app.
A reason NOT to buy a BMW and THE reason I will never have another!
If I could give zero or minus stars I would!

Never again BMW. Never

Bought a used X5 from dealer a few months ago. Now BMW want me to pay £89 so I can continue to see how much charge is in the car. Just like a Mafia protection racket. Will never buy a BMW again, will seek out a garage that is not a BMW dealer. I will never buy anything from BMW again. Should not have to deal with these crooks. I've paid £55,000 for the car, it's mine, I don't give in to extrotion.

Bought new series 2 220i M Sport Tourer without the Stop Start Cruise control but with the knowledge this can be added as all the hardware is built into the on board computer and the option can be installed over Drive Assist MyBMW- the option to buy costs £750 for unlimited and MyBMW charges £1250 - what a rip off and Sharpe Practice

BMW really struggles with customer…

BMW really struggles with customer service, I have only had Toyota and Nissan cars up until I took the dive on the i3 which is a brilliant car, BUT BMW service is consistently poor at a dealer level, Park Lane is simply terrible.
Indeed when I tried to get the BMW Connected updated at a cost of £160 for map update, it wouldn't work on my iphone or ipad, I called BMW customer services who couldn't help either, as they can't take online payment apparently!! Only to direct to use a laptop as their website doesn't work on Ipads and iphones, new one on me, I did manage on the laptop but just seems poor!

Had my 5 series for 4 years now and can't fault it.The pandemic meant I did not change it before the 3 year mark so I am on my second renewal of connect
I travel lots to Europe and see the package essential, the live traffic helps a lot in Europe. The problem is that I keep getting emails claiming it needs payment when it has been already with a final one saying it's been disconnected. It happened last year as well. Now it's likely to be working but are we sure.Shame, but a great car in all other aspects.Stll don't know what to change it to what with Brexit and electric which is lacking in infrastructure in this country to go any distance.

Avoid bmw…. Better brands on the market

Purchased an online entertainment voucher (as without it you can only listen to radio) and a map update. Still unable to activate even after a hard reset. Customer service have no clue whatsoever and pass over to technical. Asked how long it would take and I’m told upto 2 weeks. So I’ve paid £75000 for an x5 and there is no way of escalating this any way quicker. Quick enough to take my money for the vouchers but very slow to rectify the situation. You’re a crock of crap bmw!!!!

horrible

Nobody knows anything they keep transfering you over to roadside assistance when it's a missing profile issue then you have to call back and then they transfer you over to the "tech genius" who BTW is not one and he tells you that you need to speak to connected drive and in then after over 1 hour of an already painful experience the phone disconnects

BMW Connected

Annual subscription used to cost 450 SEK (50USD). From 2022 it costs double, can be renewed as a 'new' package but without single new feature. I just called the customer service, and very kind associate couldn't explain why is this so, although he really tried. Not his fault that somebody in the corporate decided to charge us more for nothing...

Horrible execution and disservice

First off - the "customer service" seem more interested in driving people away from BMW than retaining them as customers. My interactions on every occasion have been a waste of time and a source of frustration. It appears listening to the customer is profited by their script. Secondly - BMW connected drive begins on some random date that is independent of when the car is purchased. Therefore, the buyer gets shorted on the initial subription period. In my case that was six weeks. That's fraud. Thirdly, subscription renewals don't process immediately and I was told that map updates are not available over the air. Updates are only available when I go to a BMW dealership for some other service. BMW will never win the battle against Tesla with these tactics. Finally, the amount of time I had to spend answering useless questions nominally designed to verify my identity was infuriating. My bank requires about a third of the questions to verify my identity. Those who designed BMW's security protocols should find other work. They're under qualified for the job at hand and any other job involving thought.

Staggeringly bad customer service

Maps out of date, traffic routing terrible, customer support unbelievably bad...sometimes no response for weeks, then a fantastically unhelpful response. Most of us have dealt with truly terrible dealerships but, even by those standards, this has been shockingly bad

Terrible Android app - rarely works.

The app and the service behind it is really poor. Remote-control (eg. to unlock doors) mostly does not work at all. When it does work it is very slow and still does not correctly update the status in the app.
Car location in the App is usually hours or days out of date. Was bad enough when this terrible service was free but now the car is 3 years old they expect me to pay for it!!!?
The new replacement "My BMW" app is just as bad.

Connected Drive Package Navigation Fault

Purchased a 3 year old BMW last October. Purchased and renewed the Connected Drive Package from BMW which included a Map Update. Since installing the Map Update the Navigation has a fault. Various emails with Connected drive support with no result and now no reply's from them. And today hung up on me 5 times. BMW garage informed me a software update is required to fix fault at a cost of £90 !. It's fair to say I don't think I should pay that or anything for a purchased BMW product that has a fault. The Navigation was perfect before the purchase,

I purchase a used Bmw in great shape…

I purchase a used Bmw in great shape 43,000 miles . Already paying a costly price to drive one, X3 I was used to Mercedes which in my mind was the top of the line. But a couple of friends has Bmw I love the way the car handles. Which there’s r older models without the connected drive. My connected drive was purchased not working fully unknowingly until 24 hours. Started calling the dealership who didn’t want to deal with it. Told me it was under warranty and to have it serviced at a BMW dealership. After several attempts like 2 months the BMW genius kept telling thing that didn’t make sense. Took to shop the quickly said it under warranty made the appt to take in it was 4 weeks later. They kept it three days then called said it wasn’t under warranty and that it needed a new computer. After three years . So get this warranty expired in July of 2020 I purchased the car September 9th 2020. The price for a new computer is 2100 dollars. This connected drive that I supposed to give you the ultimate experience has failed. That was the final reason why? I decided to purchase. Very Disappointed.BMW need to put this in recall status or the warranty needs to be extended. There to many other BMW owners with this problem.

The actual device is passably ok though having to pay an annual fee for some things that were free on other cars is slightly galling. However the website is frankly appalling - took hours to get it to recognise my car, my address and even my payment. I did ring my dealer who sympathised but agreed I just had to keep trying. I can only imagine that the site had caught a virus!

Disappointing

Disappointing, connected drive kind of works but rather poorly. I have never yet had any kind of advice about available car parking. The voice recognition is particularly poor, and often doesn't understand. When you buy the car the various services seem to be taken out for random periods, all shorter than they should be. When you renew, every tiny thing is charged separately. High prices for a poor and limited performance. Could do a lot better. Other than this the car is 1st class....!

Disappointing

Despite following up for 3 weeks; BMW still had not activated my connected drive. Repeated chasers saw the same copy and paste reply with no resolution. Disappointing
