I lost my phone on vacation

I lost my phone on vacation. Instead of sending me a new qr code they are to worried about the 1 Euro to get for the new code. Because your only aloud to have one phone activated. Now I'm since 2 days without it. Absolut the worst service and way overpriced compare to other esim provider.

We would like to clarify a few points. The replacement of an eSIM does carry a small cost for us, and our support agents are instructed to inform customers about the €1 replacement fee and request permission before proceeding. In your case, the payment unfortunately did not go through initially, and we informed you accordingly so you could update your card details. As soon as the payment was successfully processed, the new eSIM was issued.

Regarding device usage, we do allow our customers to use their eSIMs on different devices. However, due to standard eSIM technology limitations, once an eSIM profile is installed on a device, it typically cannot be transferred or reinstalled on another one. In such cases, a replacement eSIM is required.

Warning: Services not activated for days

I genuinely thought BNESIM started out as a legit company and used to recommend them to everyone I knew. But several months ago everything changed. For every single purchase, the data stopped activating automatically. I had to chase support on chat each time just to get what I paid for.

I complained about this issue repeatedly, but instead of fixing it, the waiting times kept getting longer with every transaction. I was wasting my own free time constantly following up on a service I had already paid for.

Now they've gone full scam mode. My latest purchased data has not been active for days. They have completely turned off human support in their chat – there is literally nobody to speak to and no way to contact them.

I literally had to install an eSIM from their competitor just to get internet access so I could even try to reach their (non-existent) support. Imagine that. 😂

Is this how you treat an active customer who has several SIMs with you? I regret ever recommending BNESIM to friends and family.

Save your money and go somewhere else.

Used BNEsim for over 2 years now and…

Used BNEsim for over 2 years now and for multiple trips. Great service and coverage. Really like the option of purchasing a sim with no expiry rather than the more common option of expiry after 30 days.

TOTAL FAILURE

I’m honestly at a loss for words when it comes to the level of disappointment I’ve experienced with BNE SIM.

I purchased an eSIM for Laos ahead of my trip, expecting the very basic promise of what such a service is meant to provide: mobile data when you land. Instead, when I arrived in the country, the eSIM simply did not work. No connection, no service — nothing. What followed was an incredibly frustrating and time-wasting exchange with their online chat support, where I was asked to perform what felt like a million and one troubleshooting steps. Restart this. Change that. Send screenshots. Resend screenshots. Explain what the phone says. Try another setting. Now try this. Now try that.

After nearly an hour of back and forth, they finally came to the groundbreaking realisation that the eSIM they had sold me was not operative. I was refunded, yes — but only after wasting a significant amount of my time while travelling, when the entire point of buying an eSIM in advance was to avoid exactly this kind of situation.

Unfortunately, it didn’t end there.

I had also purchased another BNE SIM eSIM for Vietnam prior to my departure And, unbelievably, upon landing in Vietnam, I was put through the exact same script all over again. Same issue. Same non-working service. Same exhausting checklist of pointless troubleshooting steps.

This time, when I asked for a refund, they had the audacity to offer me a voucher for future travel instead — as if I would ever consider using their service again after two identical failures in two different countries. Absolutely not.

Two purchases. Two destinations. Two complete failures. Hours wasted dealing with support while abroad.

I will never use BNE SIM again, and I would strongly advise anyone considering their services to think twice.

No refund even if they didn’t deliver

Bought an airport lounge pass via BNE.
The money was taken from my card but never received the pass.

Asked for a refund several times and it was denied.
The customer service is slow and unhelpful.

Also had previous issues with eSIMs and the support was never able to sort the situation out, and very often showing no care.

Basically if you ever need anything to be sorted they won’t care.

Going to use a different eSIM company going forward.

We would like to clarify what happened. When our support team initially reviewed your case, they saw that the lounge pass purchase had been made using BNE Coins, and therefore processed the refund back to your BNE Wallet.

What was unfortunately misunderstood is that BNE Lounge Passes can only be purchased using BNE Coins, meaning you first had to top up your wallet. Since that wallet top-up was made using your card, you were absolutely entitled to request the refund back to your original payment method.

We sincerely apologize that this was not properly assessed earlier and that action was not taken sooner.

We can now confirm that the refund has been issued back to your card. Depending on your bank, it may take a few business days to reflect.

We also regret that your previous support experiences left you feeling unheard. This is not the level of care we aim to provide, and we are reviewing this internally to prevent similar misunderstandings in the future.

Service is problematic.

Finally got a refund - but only after TrustPilot review. Thank you Trustpilot.

Ordered eSIM. Email arrived but could not install on phone. Impossible to get any service to resolve issue. Told to be patient and resolution would occur within 24 hours. Not so. Still waiting. Email and chat do not work. And no refunds.
On further checking, company told me my phone was incompatible even though listed as compatible on their website. And still refused a refund telling me to get a new device. NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

After carefully reviewing your full support history, it appears there may have been a communication gap. According to our records, our support team offered you a refund, but we did not receive a reply to that message. Following that, we also contacted you regarding device compatibility (Google Pixel 3). However, we did not receive a response to that communication either.

Regarding compatibility, we would kindly invite you to re-read our previous message. At no point did we state that the Google Pixel 3a is not eSIM compatible. The device is indeed eSIM-compatible and remains correctly listed on our website.

What we explained was that, based on further technical research, certain Google Pixel 3a devices may reject eSIM installations after recent OS updates. This is a known device-related issue and not caused by the eSIM itself. It does not mean the device is incompatible, but rather that some units may experience installation conflicts due to software updates beyond our control.

Additionally, our marketing team personally reached out to you to offer a suitable resolution and shared screenshots of the support conversations for full transparency. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response to those messages, and the review was subsequently updated with information that does not reflect the documented communication history.

World traveler. Amazing Support 24x7..

As a world traveler.. 88 countries I use an ESim for specific reasons. I buy one, then when crossing a border I use it to buy a Grab Taxi... Saves me getting ripped off by the taxi touts. Sometimes buy up to 10gb .. worked OK across much of Asia.. but Cambodia bought 10gb for the usual reason.. would not work. Tech guys have helped but no solution.. now saying that the ST1 esima are a potential issue. Next stop was Thailand from Cambodia.. set up and commissioned my Thai esim 14 hours before using the QR code supplied by BNE. Come the arrival .. no service. I messaged support. It got sorted.. I was told that sometimes the settings don't work, an android issue. Again Tech support were instantly on it. Come Thailand and now with 2 esims and 2 physical I deleted the WRONG esim from BNE! Messaged support and they explained my mistake..😳.. recommissioned me a replacement in 45 seconds and bam... sorted🙏👌👍 Tech support really are impressive especially given the time difference!! I have given some feedback from a full time traveller to their management and they are looking at making the off-line support even better, kudos 🙏.. more countries to come, will continue to use BMESIM..a

Just purchased eSim for my Apple iPad…

Just purchased eSim for my Apple iPad to travel to Colombia. Keep getting an error for my email validation on my totally valid Hotmail address, saying that my email is invalid. Thai it totally wrong. Had to jump through hoops to get an email verification on my Gmail, which I hardly use, to get email validation and QR Code to install it on my device. The vendor offers support via live chat - nobody joined ... and I dropped waiting after 20+ minutes. Would never go through this again... I am using eSims for the first time because in the US, there are no more slots for the physical Sim card. Usually use Airlo and decided to try something new for better coverage.... Never again. Also, after I was finally able to activate it, I suspect it would not work over there because the system did not ask for document and face verification that is required by Colombia goverment, and I just did it on my iPhone

Regarding the live chat, we’d like to clarify that our support team replied 16 minutes after your message (we’ve shared a screenshot with you for full transparency). At that time, we were experiencing a particularly high volume of support requests. While this explains what happened, it certainly does not justify the delay, and we sincerely apologize. This is not the level of responsiveness we aim to provide.

Concerning the email validation issue, we also apologize for the confusion. The message you received was conveyed incorrectly, and we have since rectified the wording. The issue was not that your Hotmail address was invalid, but rather that your email provider was blocking our messages. Unfortunately, this is outside of our control, but we completely understand how frustrating and misleading that must have felt.

On the topic of documents and face verification, we would like to clarify an important point: BNESIM provides travel eSIMs, and there is no scenario in which we request identity documents or face verification for activation. Those requirements may apply to local physical SIM registrations in certain countries, including Colombia, but they do not apply to our service.

We genuinely regret that your first experience with us did not meet expectations, especially as someone trying eSIMs beyond your usual provider. If there is anything further we can assist you with before or during your trip, we remain fully available to help.

The request you are referring to was related specifically to the use of voice call services, not data-only eSIM activation. In rare cases, when calling activity is flagged by our automated security systems (for example, due to unusual usage patterns, regulatory requirements, or fraud-prevention checks), we are required to perform a KYC (Know Your Customer) verification. This is a standard compliance measure applied across the telecom industry to ensure lawful and secure use of calling services.

We understand this can be frustrating, and our support team’s intention was only to ensure service continuity while complying with regulations. We’re always happy to assist further and clarify any concerns directly.

Reliable and convenient

I used BNESIM many times and found it reliable and great value.
Other comparable international e-sims were more expensive. BNESIM is a great value and offers great selection for your travel needs.
The installation is pretty straight forward, and I never found any issues with activation. I normally buy an e-sim a couple of days before my trip. After I board the flight, and before I switch my cellphone to airplane mode, I normally switch service line so I could have data service as soon as I land.
I always shop around before I purchase an international e-sim. However, I always end up purchasing BNESIM for my trips.

Sell you a dodgy product

Sell you a dodgy product, then try and lock you into their internal monetary payment system by only offering 'credit' in their BNE 'coins' (pretty much crypto scam/skimming levels...)

Then you ask continually for a refund because you're within the cooling off period but they just say 'no' and offer no other solution.

Bad, don't bother. Go to Roamless who are flexible, who have e-sims that always function without lengthy customer service issues, and will actually compensate for any issue you may have with credit.

Simple promo issue still unresolved after multiple contacts

Update (Jan 13):
After my review was published, the CMO and co-founder of BNESIM personally contacted me, clarified the situation, and immediately credited the missing 1 GB as a goodwill gesture.
While I appreciate the final resolution and personal involvement at leadership level, the review below reflects the full experience up until that point — namely that a very minor issue took more than two weeks and multiple contacts to resolve, and only reached closure after public escalation.

On December 25, I purchased a 3 GB Europe eSIM using the promo code XMAS3 (Buy 3 GB, Get 1 GB Free).
Only 3 GB were delivered — the promised extra 1 GB was missing.
Since then, I have contacted BNE support at least 10 times over 19 days (Dec 25, Dec 28, Dec 30, Jan 2, and multiple follow-ups through January 13).
During these contacts, I repeatedly received:
assurances that my case was “escalated”
promises of resolution “within 24 hours”
statements that the issue was “being reviewed with priority”
Despite this, nothing has been resolved:
no credit of the missing 1 GB
no partial refund (€1–2)
no concrete explanation of what is still being reviewed
This is a purely administrative issue involving a clearly advertised promotion that was applied at checkout but not delivered. There is no technical complexity, yet it has remained unresolved for more than two and a half weeks.
The most disappointing part is not the missing data itself, but the endless repetition of apologetic template responses without any action.
Based on this experience, BNE’s customer support appears unable or unwilling to resolve even very minor issues, which significantly undermines trust in the service.
