Nicolas was the man and made the trip so special. We had some issues with traffic but he was so understanding and was willing to work with us to make the full trip happen. His boat came stocked with everything promised and we had a fantastic time. 100% would recommend!

I wish I’d never heard of boatsetter…
I wish I’d never heard of boatsetter and I encourage everyone to not go anywhere near this company. My wife and I rented a pontoon boat out of Florida 2 weeks. We followed all the boat rules, bought the insurance and had a very nice day. The Garmin navigation started to malfunction during the trip. I reported this when I back and apparently a bracket came loose causing the Garmin wire to get cut by the motor. I never hit bottom or anything else.I strongly suspect this was a maintenance issue.There is a $500 boat deposit in addition to the boat insurance and they kept it “pending an objective investigation “. The only thing they told me was that it was working when I rented and it and was broken when I got back. They sent a checklist I had signed when I rented the boat that everything was working. How was I supposed to check a bracket that was underwater? And when I tried to call the claims office I was told every time that due to legal reasons, they won’t talk on the phone, they only send emails (which were non informative and worthless). So, I was not able to talk to anyone, got no repair invoices, there is no proof that I did anything to cause damage (because I didn’t) and they simply took my $500 on top of the rental fee and the insurance I bought. This is a predatory company. Be warned

Thank you for this feedback, Alan. Renters must return the boat in the same condition it was found in at check-in, aside from fair wear and tear. When a damage claim is filed, a dedicated team gathers information from both parties to help bring about a satisfactory resolution.
The security deposit is temporarily held while the claim is investigated and no charges for damage are processed until the review has been completed by our claims team. In the event that a renter is found liable for damages, they are only charged for the verified repair costs on the invoice submitted by the owner. If the amount is less than the security deposit, the difference is refunded back to the renter.
We are not authorized to discuss damage claims over the phone and our policy is to keep all communication in writing so that everything is documented and all parties can refer back to the information easily and efficiently. Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever. I booked a yacht for New Year’s Eve 2024. My family flew to Miami to DC for the NYE celebration. The boat owner cancelled literally a few hours before it was time to board. Boatsetter was not able to find another available option. I had to spend an extra $1k to book with another company last minute. Completely unacceptable.

Unfortunately, last-minute cancellations can sometimes occur when an owner has mechanical issues with their boat or other unforeseen circumstances. In these instances, we always do our best to help find a replacement boat and I'm so sorry that we weren't able to find a suitable replacement in this case.
We want you to know that Boatsetter holds owners accountable for cancellations through penalties, which can impact their profile and visibility on the platform.
While we don't currently have a feature for renters to leave reviews on canceled bookings, we want to assure you that our owner engagement team actively assesses these situations. Owners who exhibit a pattern of cancellations are internally evaluated, and if necessary, they may be removed from our platform.
We hope you can give us another chance in the future. If you decide to book with us again, please reach out to our support team at contact@boatsetter.com and we will be happy to waive our commission on a future booking which is 10% of the boat price.
