I phoned the company today and spoke with Chris (one of the partners) He assured me the lock change over would be £48 plus VAT as stated on their website. He also assured me that one of the four partners will come out to do the job as they do not employ anyone else. This is also confirmed on their website. When Denny (could be Danny as the accent was a little difficult to understand) came he told me it would be £150 labour to replace the night latch. I asked him to leave as I could not get in touch with Chris the "partner" to ascertain what was going on. Denny then told me that there would be a £45 call out charge to which I told him there was no way I was paying him a penny. He left and I will find a reputable company.

I suspect that the 5 star reviews may be fake as there website states that:
"WE ARE 4 PARTNERS WHO ALL LIVE & WORK IN THE LOCAL AREA KEEPING OUR WORK & CUSTOMERS LOCAL"
I wonder why I and others have had sub contractors then?

In response to your reply I can assure you I am no racist, however if you can make public your company address and registration number which I can't find anywhere on your website, although i did find a vague Newquay postcode (TR8 5SQ), not quite Woodford. Please provide this info and Trading Standards can decide how wonderful your company is.

Morning Book A Local, your engineer peter recently left my new flat and asked kindly if I was happy to review you/him, I am very happy to do this for you. Peter arrived at 7-30am as planned and booked in. He changed one of my standard locks and then we agreed to upgrade the Yale latch lock as he said this wasn’t very secure, on seeing how the new one works we can quite clearly see that as well now. Peter was polite and tidy and hopefully he will read this too as myself and my partner are more than happy with the service provided, many thanks Lucy & Brad

No star given, Two indoor lock to install took two hours ( really??) and the subcontractor try to cut the corner by putting unmatching items in the door ( kitchen). what a mistake by me to hire these guys. Quotation was provided and as a customer i assumed VAT inclusive and they charged on top of it. no chance in a million year to hire these company again.

Great Sunday service, Glen was out to me and the family within an hour or so to change all our locks after the mrs had her bag stolen last night - didn’t cost the earth either but we were pretty impressed so thanks Glen for helping on a Sunday - Simon

Hi, had two of your guys out today to fit a new front door and locks due to it being kicked in last night re a burglary, it’s the entire stress this causes when these animals do this to people, these guys were thorough and have hopefully made by door fully secure so this won’t happen again, many thanks Book A Locksmith, Ant & family

Great, speedy service! A polite locksmith showed up within 1 hour of my message. He also fixed a hinge to make the door easier to lock and close. It was expensive but worth it! I do recommend these guys.

Hey - Harry here - Thanks so much for attending the eviction at one of my shops this morning, used you many times for this kind of thing and will always leave a review after the work is done, Oly turned up 10 mins before and luckily didnt have too many locks to gain entry on, swift and efficient as always - Harry

They are highy unprofessional and not fair in dealing with customers. Had pre-booked an appointment to get two UPVC door locked changed (Euro Cylinder) for £99 pound as advertised but they subcontracted the job and when locksmith arrived this morning he said each lock will cost £90 ( cost of lock which can be bought for under £10) plus a call out charge of £49. When I tried to call the number I talked to book appointment with, he didnt pick the call citing he was travelling but was able to send watsapp messages to me. The locksmith was not told about the agreed rates and I had to pay £118 inc vat for only one lock changed to my disappointment. This is highly unethical.
No replies to my messages I sent to him complaining about the situation.
Avoid at all cost...Will be reporting to trading standards.

Had this company out today at 5am for the eviction of my shop tenants who have not paid the rent for the last 2 months. Glen was on time and carried out the job pretty quickly and changed the locks. Very grateful Glen and your team - Austin

Guy came round and installed locks all fine. However didn't have a key hole cover for the door so said they would send one in the post. This never arrived and when I tried to get back in contact they just bounced me around saying they would look into it and send someone out. This never happened so after having a hole in the door for 2/3 months I bought and put the cover on myself. Moral is don't pay these guys a penny until they completely finish the job!

Used these guys on Saturday to change our new house door locks after my wife had used them recently at her office. Alan came over and did a splendid job and only charged £180 for our main 4 access door locks to be changed so many thanks from us - Martin & Alan & family

They did eviction for me yesterday at 6am, they were on time and did a pretty good job, my main concern was someone turning up which they did, very grateful - H Korsewski

CROOKS!!!
They are not a local company, and will happily use contractors who will overcharge you on the day.
If you complain, they will block your number, directing your call to voice mail, which is never answered.
I contacted the company via email at info@book-a-locallocksmith and surprise surprise.... no answer.

Reported to Trading Standards.

Over charging above and beyond the quote, and not dealing with customer complaints is a breach of the consumer act 2015. Hence they are crooks.
I am a genuine customer, and the sure way of knowing that these guys will cheat you after you book, is there was never a confirmation email or text to confirm appointment nor the estimated price.

I see also that this company challenges any negative reviews as false....again a sure indication of a company that does not take any complaints seriously.

Excellent service from start to finish today, we were burgled last night and I called the locksmith office at 6am this morning, I believe I spoke with Chris and he had an engineer with me within the hour and sure enough Oly the engineer was with us.
He repaired the damage the intruders had caused and upgraded all our door and window locks so hopefully this wont happen again, they are beck next week to install a burglar alarm, many thanks from Josh & Family

This company is a sham. The website is entirely misrepresentative - so much so that I think it needs to be closed down immediately. All content on their website is intentionally misleading (from the pricing, to the claims that they only have ‘local’ technicians, to their outright lies stating they are not a call centre).
I prebooked (5 days in advance) an engineer appointment to fix a basic Yale lock. There was no mention that the engineer who would turn up would be from an entirely different company - not local and with much more expensive prices than those quoted in the website. £280 for a new Yale lock and 3 keys!! All efforts to discuss/resolve my issues with the situation have resulted in them taking zero ownership/responsibility for this situation - All they have said is that I need to speak to the 3rd party (non-local and double the price) that they booked without my knowledge that undertook the work. Irresponsible cowboys who deserve to be shut down immediately.
