Used books work out the same as RRP

Unfortunately greed ruined this, and there's little point buying the books on this site. The good books go quickly - minutes, if not seconds so you have to be willing to refresh constantly to find anything.

But also, the points system makes this site fairly useless. Most books are around 3 points each, and I believe 1 point is intended to be equivalent to 1 pound. So that's £3 already, plus the site fee and postage which is around £4.50 (you have to pay this on top of the points every time) and you're basically spending RRP prices on a used book.

Really fun, easy to use, does what it says on the tin

I’ve listed pretty much my entire book collection on Bookswap as I’m downsizing and it’s really fun and easy to use. If someone orders your book you get a book swapping point which you can use in turn to order any other book on the website. If you order a book you just have to pay postage. You can also add books to your wish list so you’ll get an alert if somebody lists that book. It really is that simple!

My only criticism is that postage seems expensive these days with their delivery partner (£3.85) when it costs less than that to post a book with Royal Mail. So you’re basically paying £3.85 for a book, which is still really cheap.

Great website.

A great way to find lately published second-hand books, just pay for the delivery. I have swapped over 100 books so far.

I believe it's a brilliant idea and swapping all these books sounds like a perfect way to free space on your bookshelf for all avid readers. What I find though is that it works the best for brand new and latest releases. Otherwise it goes pretty slow or not moving at all - if you don't get any swap requests you won't get points to get your own choice of book and it's a bit of a vicious circle as sometimes you don't get a point for a long time if your books are 6 months old or older.

This is such a brilliant idea and a sustainable way to read books! The idea is that you list all the books you don't want anymore on their site. If someone wants your book, they just pay the postage and in return you get one ordering point. 1 point allows you to pick a book you want from their HUGE catalogue and just pay postage on it!

If you didn't have any points, you would have to pay for the book AND postage, so this way the book is free.

The postage process is so easy. They use the Hermes Parcelshop so i just get the QR code, pop to my local shop and then print the label there and hand it to the store. SO EASY.

I have received brand new books or hardbacks, for £3.75! It is brilliant, HIGHLY recommended. You can create a wishlist of books you want, and you get a notification when someone lists it. The customer service is really good as well.
