Extremely Disappointed with Bose Quality and Customer Service

I purchased a Bose Portable Smart Speaker from Amazon Germany in May 2023 for €253.77, expecting the quality and reliability associated with a premium brand.

Unfortunately, the original speaker was received with software problems and had to be replaced by Amazon after 1 day.

Now, the replacement speaker has also stopped working completely, displaying a permanent red light.

I contacted Bose customer support, explained the entire history, and provided the relevant documentation. Their response was simply that the two-year warranty had expired and that I should contact a dealer in Malta.

I was left facing a repair cost of approximately €180 for a speaker that originally cost €253.77.

What disappoints me most is not just that the product failed twice, but the lack of a practical solution from Bose.

I understand that warranties have time limits, but I expected better reliability and customer care from a company with Bose's reputation.

After this experience, I have completely lost confidence in Bose products.

I will not be purchasing Bose again.

I have a set of quiet comfort ear buds

I have a set of quiet comfort ear buds. I'm disappointed in customer service mainly because they were rude and didn't understand the product or the issue. I have several bose products but that is about to change. Shame on you bose.such a great product but cheaping out on hiring informed customer agents. The very expensive ear buds fall out all the time. So sad

Repair headphones

I have headphones that I cant pair to new units and the headphones are outside of warranty time, so far I have nothing to say about it.

But then I call their support that is located somewhere in India where they barely speak English, they tell me to send the headphones to Germany for repair, but they DO NOT mention that there is a flat rate of 230-240 euros to repair headphones outside of warranty, if I knew that I would never had sent time because that is more expensive than buying pair of new once.

And now the company in Germany have stopped replying so I don't even get them back for the cost of 35 euros.

Will never ever recommend Bose to anyone, and will never buy anything from them again.

Disappointing durability for a premium…

Disappointing durability for a premium product
I bought a pair of Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen)in 2022 for around NZ$500. I chose Bose and was prepared to pay a premium because I expected both excellent performance and a correspondingly high standard of build quality and durability.
Unfortunately, the adhesive holding one of the earpieces together has now failed and the earpiece is physically coming apart. This isn't the result of damage or misuse; the adhesive itself appears simply to have failed.
I appreciate that the earbuds are now outside the manufacturer's warranty period, but I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a premium product costing around $500 to remain physically intact for considerably longer than this under normal use.
I've now raised the matter and will update this review to reflect how Bose/the retailer responds. Bose will offer US customers a significant discount on new earplugs but does not extend this to customers elsewhere. The earbuds themselves have performed well, which makes the failure of something as basic as the adhesive particularly disappointing.

Bose Customer Service.

I have been purchasing Bose headsets and ear buds for as long as I can remember. I've used there products exclusively. A few weeks ago I called since I was having an issue with my ultra ear buds. The woman on the phone was not only hard to understand but there was so much background noise from other reps that I had to end the call. I decided to call back yesterday and although the background noise was better it was still annoying. Every time I asked the Bose rep a question she put me on hold. After the 4th time on hold she started reading what seemed like from a script. I hung up and decided to order the part that I needed on my own. I received an order confirmation and a day later an email saying "Sorry we are unable to deliver your product at this time" I just cancelled the order and ordered the Apple earbuds.
You would think that a company like Bose that sells high end products would have decent customer service

Disappointing durability and even more disappointing customer service

Disappointing durability and even more disappointing customer service

I bought these Bose earbuds in the US for roughly $300. Unfortunately, within around 14 months of purchase, they stopped connecting to my phone and started showing multiple coloured lights. I tried the usual troubleshooting, but could not get them working again.

What disappointed me even more was the customer service. Since I purchased the earbuds in the US but live in the Netherlands, I was repeatedly sent back and forth between Bose US and Bose Netherlands. I contacted Bose multiple times trying to find a solution, but eventually gave up because I wasn’t getting anywhere.

I initially decided to leave it at that and wasn’t planning to write a review. However, I think other consumers should know about my experience, especially when considering a product at this price point.

The noise cancellation and sound quality were good while they worked, but for a premium product, I also expect reliability and effective after-sales support.

I have since gone back to my Apple AirPods Pro, which have worked extremely well for me.

This is simply my experience, but if you’re considering spending this much on earbuds, I would recommend looking not only at sound quality and noise cancellation, but also at long-term reliability and the after-sales service available where you live. Make an informed choice.

I am extremely disappointed with Bose…

I am extremely disappointed with Bose and their customer service.

I ordered a Bose product as a birthday gift for myself. The delivery driver left the package downstairs in the entrance area of my building instead of delivering it safely to my apartment door. I went downstairs about 10 minutes later, and the package was already gone — someone had stolen it.

I immediately contacted Bose customer service and even provided video footage showing what happened. Despite this, they refused to help because, according to their system, the package was marked as “delivered.”

A package being left unattended downstairs in a building is not the same as being safely delivered to the customer. I never received my order, yet Bose offered no replacement, no refund, no commercial gesture, and no meaningful solution whatsoever.

For a brand with Bose’s reputation and prices, I find this level of customer service absolutely unacceptable and extremely disappointing. I expected much better support, especially after providing evidence of what happened.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Bose’s customer service.

Disappointing customer service

The products are expensive and I removed the foam ear cup so I could look up the serial number for headphones less than a year old. They won't accept them as a trade in and they're automated solution was to sell me the same headphones for hundreds of dollars. . . no one can put the foam pieces back on. So I called customer service and they offered me the same thing the website did. . . I can purchase a new, version of the same headphones for the same price. Useless. I don't ever plan to buy another bose product and I own several.

quiet comfort ultra earbuds- no good

Bought the quiet comfort ultra earbuds. Great sound quality but noise cancellation broke twice within 2 years. Fortunately I paid for additional retailer warranty and got a refund after the 2nd occurrence. Bought a pair of apple pro EarPods, much better for similar cost.

Worse customer service ever

Worse customer service ever, couple of frankly idiots sitting in a room refusing to pass issues on to managers, lying to customers about transferring calls, claiming there is no magnet to deal with the call, point blank refusing to transfer the call because they frankly can’t, so dodgy I questioned if it was even Bose

All conversations where recorded and will be emails to complaints along with names, also reported to trading standards as iv never had such a dodgy call with rude and incapable people

QC 35 Service Have a QC 35 headphone which is 10…

Have a QC 35 headphone which is 10 years old. Has given me exceptional service and enjoyed using it all these years. Recently, the On/Off button developed some snag and the set became non functional.

Took it to Servify Bengaluru, Bose's authorised service centre. First of all, the service centre is located in a not so good area and the surroundings are dirty and infested with stray dogs. Situated on the 1st floor, the lift does not work.

The man behind the counter took one look at the product and announced his verdict.." Sorry, Sir, this is a plastic part and can't be repaired or replaced. You need to buy a new Head Phone."

Thought this guy was in the wrong profession. Should be in the sales team rather than the service team. But with his unfriendly attitude, dont think he has much of a scope in sales either.

Be that as it may, I am confounded by the fact that for a small thing like On/Off button defect, the customer has no alternative but to go in for a new set. Emily the craziest thing I have ever heard.

Is there some way this can be rectified?

Quality seems to be lowering

My original Bose QuietComfort Headphones were great. They lasted over five years. When they finally broke, Bose offered me a trade-in, but I had to pay the difference for a new pair, which was a great deal.

The new headphones took 3 weeks to arrive, which was already a long wait. Unfortunately, they immediately had problems. People on my phone calls couldn't hear me, I had static, and the audio would glitch.

I contacted Bose multiple times. Each time, they asked me to run the same troubleshooting and resetting steps. Eventually, Bose agreed to replace the headphones, but instead of sending a new pair, they sent refurbished headphones...

I returned my headphones and waited another 2–3 weeks for Bose to receive and process the return. Then I waited another 2–3 weeks for the replacement to arrive.

Unfortunately, the replacement has the same problems. I still experience static. People on the other end of phone calls sometimes cannot hear me. When I record audio messages, my voice sounds like I am underwater, with every other word cutting out. Voice-to-text also frequently picks up only every other word.

At this point, I am hesitant to contact Bose again because I don't necessarily want to go through another 6-week replacement process, repeat the same troubleshooting steps, and spend more time explaining and proving the same issues.

I have been a Bose customer for years, which makes this especially disappointing. The quality of my original headphones was excellent, but my experience with the replacement and Bose’s customer service has been extremely frustrating.

Great sound, terrible software and customer service

I bought a complete Bose Lifestyle Ultra system from Bose Australia for $3,824.85.

The problems started almost immediately. The soundbar would not connect properly to Wi-Fi or the Bose app, meaning I could not properly set up the surround system. After extensive Bose troubleshooting I eventually gave up and used it simply as a soundbar.

After moving house I tried again. This time it connected, but then failed a firmware update and became stuck in a boot/update loop. Wi-Fi, Ethernet, factory resets and recovery procedures made no difference.

Bose agreed the soundbar appeared faulty and offered a replacement. That is where things became unbelievable.

Their Australian support number connects to an overseas call centre. Across numerous calls I was repeatedly given contradictory or incorrect information.

Bose first sent an Australia Post return label, then told me the soundbar was too large for Australia Post and arranged AirRoad instead.

AirRoad collected it from my current home without the promised phone call and without attaching the proper courier label. Instead of reaching Bose's NSW return centre, it ended up at my old rental address.

The occupants refused the first delivery because it wasn't theirs. The courier later returned and left it there anyway. My wife eventually had to retrieve it.

While the soundbar was physically back in my house, Bose told me their tracking showed it was "on the way to Bose".

I finally requested a full refund. Bose agreed, but then generated new return labels showing my old address despite me confirming my new address twice that same day.

I spent at least 2 hours 55 minutes on Bose phone calls alone, including more than two hours across three calls in one day.

Bose eventually refunded the full $3,824.85.

The sound quality wasn't the problem. The software, failed firmware, offshore support, contradictory information and chaotic returns process destroyed my confidence in Bose.

For a premium audio company, the customer experience was nowhere near premium.

I would not buy directly from Bose again.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, I returned my Bose qc earbuds, they confirmed that the return was being processed, I have sent them confirmation of the collection from ups , now they say they can't find the collection, spent an hour on the customer chat but it was useless as they don't respond when it gets to giving information on return,

Bose is an incompetent brand for online services

unfortunately , the comercial team, and customer services of Bose Canada , is not completely professional, I bought with plenty time of anticipation my daugther's birthday they never accomplish with the contract . I track the order and spoke with an agent about the delate , they always set forward day to deliver my order, promise me it will be deliver . At the end and one week later of the birthday, they send an email explain me that they cannot fulfill the order and notified me about the reimburse. Bose wash their hands. I am very desappointed and my level of satisfaction is the worst in the market .

Bose QC 45 are just terrible and…

Bose QC 45 are just terrible and stupidly overpriced. The audio can never play for more than a minute without some sort of static lag, and sometimes it just goes off into static until I pause the video I'm playing for a few seconds, which is really inconvenient if I'm doing something else. Also, the build quality is just straight up terrible. Everything falls apart and gets damaged very easily. Stupidly high price for terrible headphones. Do not buy these
