Avoid at all costs

This car rental company are an absolute joke.
Picked up car at 3am at Izmir airport on 23/09/25. Noticed 2 days later that front number plate had fallen off. Reported this immediately and was told I would need to drive a 200 mile round trip back to the airport for a replacement and then pay 100 Euros, which then increased to 200 Euros. Checked and the cost of a number plate in Turkey is around 5 Euros. Pointed out I shouldn't use car and go through tolls with no number plate and was told to put rear number plate on front. (Cos I always carry a screwdriver on holiday). Checked the video I took when collecting the car and one of the screws was clearly missing from the front plate. Their response was that it wasn't missing there was one silver screw and one black screw. Both screws in rear plate were matching silver screws. We decided to continue with our holiday and return the car on the scheduled date. We avoided the toll road back to the airport and were told we had to pay 200 Euros. When I refused it was reduced to 100 Euros. I again refused and was told the police would be called and I would be arrested. So we had no choice but to pay. But they then checked our toll usage on line and said there were no further charges as we had not used the airport toll road at any point. Which would suggest that the front number plate fell off as soon as we left the airport because we DID use the toll, which is only 10 mile from the airport, on that first night. We only paid the 100 euro charge because our flight was due.

BOYCAR : Not trustable car rental company Don't rent a car.

They advertised on web by CARJET and I made car booking. It was one of cheapest offer. When I arrived to BOYCAR counter, they informed that they don’t have any reservation on this booking. So I couldn’t get the car even I talked on the phone and they confirmed. I've still WhatsApp messages.
I believe price went up and they changed their mind and tried to sell higher prices.

Worst experience ever!

When I went to return the car I rented, a Boycar employee broke the handle of my suitcase and didn’t even bother to apologize—let alone address the damage. I absolutely do not recommend them. On top of that, one of the office staff had the audacity to say, ‘So what if your suitcase handle broke? Is that such a big deal?’—an incredibly rude and arrogant response. They are unbelievably disrespectful.

Don’t use this company

Don’t use this company. On 2 separate occasions they cancelled my car that i booked months before. I called on both occasions 3-4 hours prior to advise I would be 1-2 hours late due to flight delays. Even though they said ok on the phone , when I arrived there was no car for me. The staff at Izmir airport couldn’t care one bit. Not interested in even discussing the matter. Don’t book this company directly or though any booking agencies. Disgraceful service.

AWFUL!!!

AWFUL!!!!
AVOID!! We pre booked a car through booking.com ( even paid for the extra insurance) our flight was one hour late ( this clearly can not be helped and as a flight number is requested I did not think this would be a problem) but when we called Boycar after collecting luggage we was told are car has been cancelled and is no longer available. This left us as a young couple stranded in turkey with no car and no transfers until midnight! ( we were staying a hour and half away from the airport) they had told us there was nothing that could be done but we would get a refund in 10 days. We ended up finding a new car through rent go at the airport which we had no problems with at all and would recommend. DO NOT USE BOYCAR.

Frauds, they charge you for something you did not do when you are back home.

Total Fraud, after rental we signed of our car at 04:00 in the morning, they signed of the returning document by their worker on duty, there was no damage visable at that moment. 6 hours later they come back via whatsapp that i allegedly had some damage and they do not want to reimburse my deposit of 150 euro. Dont use these frauds as they have no respect for rules, they could have made the damage themself after we left the car in those 6 hours and now they blame it on me. Never using Boycar again, i recommend you do the same.

Very disappointing experience

Very disappointing experience. Booked a Compact Car, and when we arrived we were given keys to a 20 seat mini bus. Not the easiest thing to drive at the best of times, but in a strange country in the dark, no thanks. The options we were given were to cancel the booking and loose the booking fee I had already paid. Or pay 10 euros to upgrade to the vehicle I had originally booked.

When we returned the car, there was a 150 euro charge for 'damage' to the plastic bumper. I couldn't see any damage at all. I was threatened with the charge increasing to 250 euro's if I argued about it. BoyCar already had my credit card as the guarantee at pick-up, and the 150 euro was charged to the card before I even got into the terminal.

I read the reviews and decided to ignore the horror stories. My strong advice is not to use BoyCar. If you do decide to use them, photograph every inch of the car before you accept it.
