Customer Service at Brayley Honda

I recently booked my car into Brayley Honda St Albans for a repair to be carried out. The Service Dept was very helpful and knowledgeable, detailing the new parts required and the approximate cost. The job was professionally done by a technician in less time than expected and I was kept informed of progress. I would therefore not hesitate to recommend Brayleys to potential customers, for excellent customer service.

Good service and really friendly staff

I was booked in for my cars second year service, I was welcomed by a member of staff in the car park who wanted to make sure I knew where I was going. On arrival in the showroom I was seen immediately, The service engineer was chatty and friendly while doing the paperwork.

I had opted to stay and wait (it was an hour), they have a nice waiting area with free drinks. I was impressed that all the staff who popped in for a drink said Hi!

The service was completed quickly, and they full explained the service report.

It was a very good experience,

Poor service St Albans Hyundai

Have tried several times to get a price for some work on my Hyundai and am always promised someone will call back and they never do. Really poor service

Dominic was very good and did a great…

Dominic was very good and did a great job. He explained everything clearly and was very attentive. When he took us out on a test run he didn’t rush the process and made sure I felt comfortable before going on a different route on a much busier road. He didn’t rush us. He sorted all the paper work so we didn’t have to do anything. I even asked him to doubled check that the motor insurance cover had definitely changed over for peace of mind for us as it was all done on line.

Overall decent service

Overall decent service. Home collection/ drop off cost has increased from £25 in 2025 to £50- 100% rise in a year! Valet cleaning used to be included in the service, but not any more- apparently for environmental reasons, I was told by Reception. (The car will need cleaning in any case, but I will have to pay separately. Don't know how environment will benefit.) I wasn't actually asked if my car had any issues to be looked at. Decent but very ordinary experience, overall.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m pleased to hear that your overall experience was decent, although I’m sorry that a number of aspects fell short of your expectations. I appreciate your comments regarding the increase in collection and delivery costs. Unfortunately, these charges have risen in line with significant increases in operating costs, but I do understand how this feels from a customer perspective. In relation to the vehicle cleaning, we have recently stopped including a wash and vacuum as part of our servicing process to reduce water usage, chemical consumption and congestion on site. I appreciate your comments on this and understand that it may not feel like a benefit from your perspective. I’m also sorry to hear that you were not asked about any issues with your vehicle at check-in. This is something that should always form part of the process, and I will address this with the team. Thank you again for your balanced feedback, it’s genuinely helpful as we continue to improve the experience we provide

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ST ALBANS

We were alerted to a recall for what was supposed to be a 30-minute software update; we booked and allowed 1.5 hours just in case…… my husband was at Brayley St Albans for over 3 hours! Blamed on the 12v battery showing under 80% charge, so had to be put on charge first. Why not warn the customer in advance of the booking? In our case my husband could have charged it.

A couple of days before the booking an “online check-in” procedure invited me to advise of “Additional Work” that may need looking into so I did:

Tailgate motor has a noisy whine to it …… Response “they’re all like that” WHAT?
In-car computer periodically freezes .….. Response “you’ve been tuned in to FM we’ve changed it to DAB. FM causes static” WHAT?
The brakes continue to “squeal” …… Response “they’re all like that” WHAT?
Is there any likelihood of improvement to the Honda app? …... Response “All car apps have problems” WHAT? My previous car was a Jaguar IPace the app didn’t have any issues and my husband swears by his BMW app!

Will try another Honda service centre next time. If there’s no improvement I will seriously consider getting rid of my Honda e:Ny1.

Car was collected and returned as…

Car was collected and returned as scheduled. I had to change to Brayley Hemel due to collection postcode changes. However, unlike my many happy years having my car serviced with Brayley St Albans, it was returned not having been washed and hoovered. Just a small thing, but good customer service which was always much appreciated. Service and MOT were carried out as booked and recommendations etc listed.

St Albans Branch - Amazing Experience

I’ve had an amazing experience over the past week with Brayleys Hyundai St Albans. My daughter purchased a Hyundai i10 for her first car and it was immaculate both inside and out. In particular, Lewis Hughes was absolutely amazing. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and patient in helping us pick the right car. He never pressured us into anything and made the whole process so much more enjoyable. He really went above and beyond to help us in any way possible so an absolutely massive thank you to him!

Tried to overcharge; car not cleaned

I exclude the delivery driver from these comments - he was 5*+
Your administrator tried to charge me £50 for collection & return, which is something included in my package - I see this as a try on.
You no longer wash my car, I'm told it is because you plant trees instead. So my service is less because of a decision I have no part in. What next? - will you stop changing the oil because that is better for the environment?

Firstly, I’m very pleased to hear your positive comments about our driver and I will make sure this feedback is passed on to him.
In relation to the collection and delivery charge, I apologise for the confusion on this occasion. The service advisor you spoke with was covering temporarily and was not initially aware that your particular service plan includes collection and delivery. As soon as this was brought to her attention the charge was removed, but I am sorry that this was raised in the first place.
Regarding vehicle cleaning, we recently made the decision to discontinue complimentary washes following service as part of wider measures to reduce water usage, chemical consumption and congestion on site. We do recognise that this is a change for customers who were used to this previously, and we understand that it may not be a welcome one for everyone. Your feedback on this point is certainly noted.
I do appreciate you taking the time to share your comments, and I hope we will have the opportunity to provide you with a smoother experience on your next visit.

Very good dealership

My car was booked in for a service

My car was booked in for a service, easy to arrange a date. The service details are all electronic these days.
The service team were friendly.
My car was not cleaned after the service which was disappointing and has not happen previously.
