Title: Friendly customer service, but poor communication and unexpected costs
I recently left my car with the dealership for repair work. What was supposed to be a straightforward repair turned into a week-long delay. The initial target date kept getting pushed back—from Tuesday (which turned out to just be the parts arrival date) to Wednesday, Thursday, and finally Friday.
While the staff on site were friendly and polite throughout, the communication around timing and pricing left a lot to be desired. After specifically instructing them by email not to carry out any work without prior authorization, I was hit with a major shock at checkout when the final total came to around £3,500—significantly higher than the initial £3,200 estimate.
The quality of the work seems fine and the team is pleasant to deal with, but the lack of clear updates and the sudden price jump made the experience far more stressful than it needed to be

A year of ownership and still no resolution
I have now owned my car for a year, and Brayley Nissan still hasn’t resolved faults that I have been raising since the beginning.
These include the 360 cameras, front driver assistance features and automatic emergency braking for pedestrians and vehicles, which I have reported as not working. The sat nav does not update properly, and I cannot use the speed assistance feature that relies on road speed information.
These are safety features that I expect to work and need confidence in.
The service has been appalling. I repeatedly chase by phone and email, yet getting a response, a returned call or a meaningful update is a struggle. I am regularly told someone is with a customer or has left, but nobody takes responsibility for getting this sorted.
The branch manager has previously promised a resolution, but the faults remain. My attempts to get a response from the branch manager and Dean Naylor have got me nowhere.
I understand that faults can take time to diagnose. What I cannot accept is a year of unresolved problems, repeated chasing and promises that lead nowhere.
I want my car properly repaired, a clear timescale and someone who takes responsibility and keeps me informed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Brayley Nissan.
Awful!!!! Stay clear!!!
Absolutely terrible service.
Absolutely terrible service.
Paid for a deposit online to view a car.
I’ve had to contact the dealership multiple times about arranging a test drive and got ignored and bounced from pillar to post. Due to the incompetence I decided to cancel my test drive and look elsewhere. Once again after multiple calls I was informed on the 8/10/26 that my refund for my deposit would be back to me in 3-5 working days.
I’ve since had to ring back multiple times and have been told by, Daniel that he has spoken to the accounts department and informed his manager and have said they’ll be in touch with regards to my refund and have still yet to hear anything. It would seem the company are happy enough taking your money but refuse to give it back.
Absolutely terrible service from a main ship dealer. Avoid at all costs.
Overall a bad experience
It started badly, when dropping the vehicle off for service and mot the female on service reception had an abrupt attitude, didn't listen and decided it was perfectly acceptable to argue what had been agreed at time of booking and ultimately the cost was more than quoted. On collection an item picked up on mot 12 months ago when purchasing and promised it had all been done was on advisory again. Also no phone call that vehicle was ready as promised just a message which wasn't delivered as rejected as spam. Overall not a good experience.

Patronised and not kept informed
Wasn't happy with how this interaction went at all throughout the week and especially on picking up my car.
I had an issue with my 12V battery - it was discharging itself and twice I had to get the RAC out as I couldn't get into my car let alone start it as the battery was flat. I was told when I made the appointment that I could get a courtesy car. However, when I dropped it off I was told I would have to wait until the evening to see if the battery fault was under warranty before they could do that but they would ring me before the end of the day. They did not, I had to ring them. It turned out the battery passed it's initial test so they wouldn't give me a courtesy car until they could complete a drain test over the weekend, and by that point it's either under warranty and they would replace it and I could pick it up or it's not so either way I wouldn't get a courtesy car. They did say they would ring me on Monday to tell me how it went. Again they did not ring me and I had to chase for an update late in the day. I was told they were going to replace the battery and it could be ready later that day or Tuesday. I was not contacted again, so rang on Tuesday to check what was happening. I finally got a phone call later on Tuesday being told I could pick it up, but not exactly what was done and what the problem appeared to be. So I arrived, checked in and then waited 30mins for the paperwork to be sorted. Despite addressing me by name and apologising for the wait, he turned to my father who had come to drop me off, to hand him the keys (mind you I'm a 30 year old woman and my Dad at the time had his hands full and was behind me). I then had to ask what was done in full - I wasn't given paperwork or had anything explained at this point. I was told the old battery passed it's test, but would only charge to half it's capacity. That this was down to an internal fault and not the battery in question. They replaced the battery and it was no longer draining and charging to full capacity. I questioned if the old battery was fine and it was a separate internal fault, then is there something I should be aware of (as if it was a separate internal fault, surely changing the battery alone would not fix the issue). I was patronised and told batteries have hundreds of cells and electric cars have so much technology it's all too difficult to explain but that they have fixed it. I know that lead batteries of this kind have 6 cells, not hundreds, plus I felt like he was trying to shut me down from legitimate questions, so I just accepted I wasn't going to have a constructive conversation at that point.
Overview, I was not kept informed through the process, promised a courtesy car initially several times and then told pretty much I never was going to get one. I then was kept waiting despite being told it was ready, talked down to, and patronised when collecting. There were undertones of sexism (he wanted to speak to my Dad at first, until I made it clear I was his customer), but frankly I think the bad customer service behaviour would have occured to an extent regardless.
I've had good interactions with the Altrincham branch, but will not be looking to go back to the Manchester/ Arwick one any time soon.
Brayley Nissan Manchester
I recently took my car to Brayley Nissan Manchester after receiving a letter from Nissan regarding an upgrade to the Battery Management System (BMS) software.
I was impressed with the service I received. The staff specially Ovi was friendly, professional and helpful. The whole process was handled efficiently, and I was kept informed. The work was completed smoothly and within the expected timeframe.
It was reassuring to see such a professional and customer-focused approach. The team were courteous, knowledgeable and made the whole experience straightforward and stress-free.
Excellent service from Breyley Nissan — highly recommended! Thank you to the entire team for your help and professionalism.

Worst customer service I’ve ever…
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I bought a car from the Manchester dealership for £11,000 cash. I had the car 3 weeks before it needed to go into their service department for repair. I’ve been calling and emailing for 2 weeks, with no update and one email response. I still don’t know what the issue with the car is. I’ve also asked to replace the car, as per their exchange guarantee. There has been no progression at all and almost zero communication. I’m now persuing legal action.

Initially happy but fault warnings less than 2 weeks after repair
I was sent from Arnold Clark where I purchased my 2025 Nissan Juke on28/8/26 after a complete system breakdown on 23/9/26 on my way to work. The car was repaired under warranty after an alternator failure. I was initially impressed with customer service and quick turnaround recieving the car back on 25/9/26. However at the time of writing this, the car is again showing a system fault warning 3/10/26 as i started a journey with my 8 yr old daughter in the car, so I came back home after circling the block as I wasn't prepared to breakdown as I did last time without even working hazards with my child in the car. As neither Nissan or Arnold Clark servicing are open weekends I can't resolve the issue until Monday 5/10/26. I have only had the car for 5 weeks and am angry with Arnold Clark for selling me a faulty car as they can't have checked it properly before selling it to me as it also has a faulty rear middle seatbelt which I only recently became aware of, and also whatever repair Nissan has done has lasted less than 2 weeks. I will be looking into my consumer rights to get a refund
Great service
Great service, friendly staff. Easy to book car in for service and received a courtesy car to use. Detailed report and video on service.
