This practice takes great pains to warn you cancellation of appointments MUST take place at least 24 hrs beforehand or else you’ll be removed from the books…….

…….Yet they cancelled my appointment 4 hrs before I was due to arrive.

I had taken the afternoon off work.

The dentist called in sick, apparently.

I’m guessing that if this is true they did so hours ago, but even so it is good to know my time is less valuable than theirs.

This, along with endless form-filling demands, and the assumption most clients are potential non-payers, does help make absolutely certain that any encounter with modern dentistry is the miserable experience we have all come to expect.

Nightmare. Left with abscess.

After being told I could have a root canal crown on NHS suddenly it was extraction or private. I saw private Dentist Vanesca Costa after saying it must be a dying nerve and I have lovely teeth, said she would do it in 6 weeks after returning from Brazil. After she had done quite a bit of work on canals an abscess poured out. She cleaned the bit where abscess had poured out put temporary crown on but must have left what she had already done in. So she knowingly left infection in my mouth. If she had removed it wouldve been a retreatment which she wasnt qualifued to do. I got very sick was treated with Contempt by Neil Maroo the owners son. Was barred from future appointments because I complained. Was a nightmare for me. I have just had a full refund and am getting all the government bodies to investigate their disgusting treatment of a longstanding uncomplaining customer. If expensive treatment goes wrong here you are pretty much left to get on with it. Please Avoid.

Review Version (Professional & Clear)

I had a check-up with Dr Soorena Saharnaz and wanted to leave a review about my experience.

Although no treatment was carried out during this appointment, I was very impressed with his professionalism. He was calm, polite, and explained everything clearly. He made me feel comfortable and reassured, which is very important during a dental visit.

His manner was respectful and professional, and it gave me confidence about the treatment planned for next month. I appreciate healthcare professionals who take the time to communicate properly.

Thank you.

£60 for a glance in my mouth

I had a wisdom tooth removed – the dentist was excellent and the surgery was professional and painless. There was a bit of admin sleight-of-hand that has left a bitter taste however. I provided the X-Rays and scans of the tooth from another surgery, and was told over email that it could go ahead on that basis for £375. I was later told it could not be allowed go ahead without a full assessment for which I'd have to pay £60. Fair enough, I thought, not realising 'assessment' meant just turning up and letting the dentist look into your mouth. Nothing more. Sixty pounds. I can see why Brecknock would charge that extra fee if they wanted to investigate and take their own scans or Xrays, but there was nothing of that sort. The dentist was fantastic, but the experience has left me feeling pickpocketed by the administrators.

£60 for a proof of address

Still shocked by the front desk and manager asking £60 for a printout of a proof of address for my son’s school application. After spending thousands of pounds here, this is outrageous. We are not going back.

NEVER GO THERE

I first made an appointment with this practice, they charged £95 pounds for hygiene. The second time I went for the hygiene the prices increased to £105, without not notice or whatsoever.
So I paid with my credit card £60 pounds. My appointment supposed to be for a Saturday at 11 a.m unfortunately on a Friday I felt really ill with Diarrhea and vomiting. I t was 12:10 when I call to changed my appointment due to my illness, the receptionist said I was late and the notice for cancellation was the 24 hours notice, I said it's only 12:10p.m, they said I could still go with my illness as the clean all the equipment, I found this harsh in sick patient, also a very rigid policy lol, I was only late 45 minutes when I called.which they have plenty of time to find another patient, They practically we're forcing me to go and see a hygienist with my illness which is so contagious.
Obviously they Kept the money, but I would not trust this practice ever again.

On Monday 16th September I visited the practice to see Jo the hygienist, absolutely brilliant. I have a complete fear of the dentist, Jo always puts me at ease, she is superb, as are the dentists there.
I had my checkup done in July with Hannah, also brilliant. I highly recommend this practice, I’d give it 10 stars if I could.
The reception staff are also brilliant at putting me at ease, Kande is exceptional and always helps me, as did Debbie before her.

I have just had the worst experience of…

I have just had the worst experience of my life at this dentist.
I brought in my 10 year old son. His filling had come out on a baby tooth that is bad. She said the tooth needed to come out. Fair enough.
She gave him numbing injection. She asked him a few times if he could still pain before removing. He continued to say yes. She kept questioning this saying are you sure it's not a pulling feeling. He says no. She then just went ahead and pulled the tooth out. He was screaming in pain! She stopped for a second and then cracked the tooth and pulled both parts out. I have never ever seen my son in so much pain in my life. As she is trying to help him I keep asking her should he have felt that much pain. She then says he is a child and spent know the difference between pain and pulling. He definitely does!!! She then afterwards gives him another numbing injection.. why wasn't this done properly before.
It has left me and my son absolutely traumatised! I will not be going back here and I will definitely be taking this matter further.. please avoid this dentist at all cost.

Non-human treatment

My wife was referred in emergency to this clinic by NHS, today 07July 2023 15:30, to solve a GUM problem. She was attended by a dentist who made questions about the problem and I answered the problem was located upper left. It was a polyp. I moved out of room because my wife asked for. Surprisingly I saw the doctor was making a few X-ray pictures. Something was not right once the polyp was visible. I came in and he started to talk about teeth extraction, he could extract them at that time.
I asked about the polyp. He looked myself with a big surprise and then started to search at internet about it. He asked a help of another doctor who gave us the solution.
We are retired, without Pension Credit, because this we paid £25 to listen that my wife will come out without theeth and with the polyp problem was referred to a hospital.
It is a shame, we pay for NHS in some way, plus a consultation because the 90% of clinics in UK are not getting new NHS patients, raising the living costs because we need pay for private dentists, and receiving a non-humanitarian and disrespectful treatment. He was not rude, but the business asked him to make money as much as possible. Extract teeth of a almost 70 years old lady and left her without a immediate solution about her appearance reflects how the medical business is carrying on in this country: NON-HUMAN CARE. £25 for a referral, for a big distress.
For me it was not surprise if they remove this review.
5 FALLEN STARS.
UPDATE: on next day my wife woke up with pain where not have before the consultation.

Incompetent, lazy and rude. Avoid!

For the amount of money this dental practice charges, you would assume the quality of their care would be amazing. This is far from the case, from the unhelpful rude receptionists to the lazy and greedy dentists, this place is rotten to the core.

I would advise against using Brecknock Dental and go find a more helpful and efficient dentist.

Please be very wary of this practice

Please be very wary of this practice. They believe disabled people are not entitled to nhs treatment. They have refused to complete my treatment because I cancelled an appointment on the day due to my disability. They are breaking the law. They know my cancelling the appointment was because of my disability symptoms on that day and they had several hours notice.
Rob Feltrin the office manager emailed me today and does not care that the cancellation was due to my disability so he has broken the law.

Update.
They still refuse to provide nhs treatment and are in breach of the law. They do not care. They have no scruples, no decency. I’m going to the ombudsman now.

Update
The parliamentary and health service ombudsman are now involved hopefully they will soon stop the discriminatory behaviour

Update
So I was offered a meeting and yet they still continue to break the law. The Equality Advisory Support Service has said they have discriminated against me yet they still continue saying "its the policy"

Update
The PHSO (ombudsman) found in my favour and agreed the practice had discriminated against me due to my disability breaking the equality act and they had to compensate me. If anyone else has this experience with them remind them if the PHSO decision

I have been coming here for the last 30…

I have been coming here for the last 30 years. The surgery has had a major renovation over the last few years. It's very clean and has spacious seating areas. Sue was on reception today; she is always so polite curious and friendly. As are the rest of the receptionist staff. I was seen today by Dr Evie & Nurse Bina. I had previously had a consultation had a telephone consultation due to COVID. Nurse Bina greeted me at the door and sanitised my hands, filled the appropriate paperwork. She then proceeded to wash very thing down after it was used before heading up to See Dr Evie. Dr Evie was very friendly. I had a great consultation and was given two x-rays. Again, Nurse Bina was very hygiene conscious and washed everything down before and after it was used. Dr Evie did explain everything thoroughly. I also was seen another dentist as a precaution as my concerns was more complicated than a straight forward dental problem. I was then given after care advice. I could not be more grateful and thankful to call this practice my dentist surgery.

Dr Evie and Nurse Keyla

I have not had Dental Treatment for over 35 years and I went to see Dr Evie and Nurse Keyla. They did an excellent job on my teeth and made me feel at ease. Evie was very informative and professional and they both made it a pleasure to see the dentice. For the first time in 35 years I have asked for a follow up in a few months to see Evie and Kayla. Keep up the good work-daveg

What a wonderful experience it has been…

What a wonderful experience it has been visiting Brecknock Dental Surgery in Camden/Kentish Town. It was the best decision I made. My experience was made possible through the care of Dr. Evie and dental Nurse Kayla. I can never fault the practice for the simple reason that they have the good sense and insight to have such caring, skilled and dedicated professionals in their employ. The work that Dr. Evie performed on my very badly damaged teeth was remarkable and the difference in the look and the feel of the work done was perfection personified. Dr. Evie took her time explaining the treatment and what my options were. The concern and care from both Dr. Evie and Kayla on my needs and physical constraints from the very beginning right through to the aftercare on each and every visit was very special. I was dreading going to the dentist on the first appointment with the thought playing on my mind of having to go through the extensive procedures that I knew would be in store for me but Dr. Evie took great care in explaining to
me my treatment plan and always talking me through the actions she was performing at each and every stage. I was made to feel very comfortable and very relaxed and most importantly, pain free. I couldn’t have got through it without the help of Dr. Evie and nurse Kayla, so I will forever be grateful for the care and support that you both have provided. I feel privileged to be part of this surgery and from my experience and from the remarkable result, Dr. Evie gave me the most excellent dental treatment !
It's also very important to me to mention that Brecknock Dental have nicest and accommodating reception staff who also have my deepest respect and gratitude.
