I’m extremely disappointed with breitlings customer service

I’m extremely disappointed with Breitling’s handling of a quality issue with a leather strap.

The strap has been worn approximately twice per month over 18 months and has frayed significantly. Breitling assessed it and returned it with a £178 quote to restore it to its original condition.

Given the very light use and the premium nature of the brand, this level of deterioration is not reasonable and does not reflect what most customers would expect from a luxury product. Breitling has refused to repair or replace the strap free of charge, despite this.

I have now escalated the matter under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and issued a Letter Before Action. This experience has been disappointing and has seriously affected my confidence in the brand’s aftercare

MY NEW BREITLING WATCH.

This afternoon I picked up my Breitling watch from the Breitling boutique in Cardiff st davids centre. I had popped in at the weekend just gone & was helped & shown some beautiful watches with the help of Daniel & his colleagues in the shop. The manor in which Daniel & colleagues made you feel welcome & put at ease & not pushy either very nice people. I’d like to thank Daniel & Dana… this afternoon for hospitality & the rest of the team at Breitling Boutique in Cardiff.

Purchased a replacement leather strap…

Purchased a replacement leather strap from Breitling's Regent Street store for my watch. Cost £460.00 plus £40 for the buckle. 4 Feb 2023 so less than a year. The loop holding the strap has come apart, and I am told by Mohamed in the store that this is down to wear and tear and that they will not repair or replace. I find it incredible that a supposed quality product supplied by a reputable company will fall apart within 1 year. Breitling experience ruined ! will not be returning.

OH MY! DONT BUY A BREITLING PRODUCT

Oh my. I wish I spoke with some Breitling owners before I spent $8,900, what a rubbish product.
Service is terrible, and the watch has never kept time even after the service was $360. When I went to book it back in (that week) they (Breitling service) tell me that it would cost me $180 just to have a look. This is just after I paid them $360.
Don't buy this brand... YOU WILL NOT GET A BACKED PRODUCT. Contacted the service team (Sydney) about this and got no satisfaction, contacted the head office (Switzerland) (three times (3) with no response. DO NOT BUY A BREITLING... RUBBISH, I HAVE A WATCH THAT DOES NOT KEEP TIME AND OR DOES NOT WORK.

Well done Angus

Brilliant service from Angus in the New Bond Street store in London. Spoke to him on the phone 2 days before I visited the store and have to say he was informative and helpful. in addition he was just as helpful we we went to the shop.

REGULAR SERVICE IS KEY

Breitling is a beautiful watch but like a beautiful wife service is a pertinent necessity not a occasional choice! My chronograph SS/Gold runs like a charm after 15 years without a hitch. Great resale value too!

Poor quality, poor value for money

I’ve had my breitling (cost circa £3k) for approximately 4 1/2 years. The face of the watch began to rotate with the hands. Breitling want £650 to fix it. The problem was not as a result of any accidental damage. Doesn’t feel like a watch that is value for money and I will not buy a Breitling watch again.

First class timepiece and aftercare

My husbands 20 year old Breitling watch was ruined by another company after a battery and seal was put in faulty and the watch got water logged - we was devastated.

We went to Breitling to see if they could help and I cant thank them enough for the service they provided, Simon Mitchell from Stratford Branch has been amazing and has provided a 5 star service, the customer care and communication which we received from him has been excellent. My husbands watch has now been restored to its former glory and will be treasured for many more years to come.

I would definitively recommend Breitling as not only are you buying a lovely timepiece but the service you will receive many years after is second to none.

Breitling. Faulty watch clasp

I purchased a brand new Super Avenger from a duty free concession in an airport. I went for the Crocodile skin strap with the stainless steel clasp. Can't remember the exact price, but the strap and clasp came to £400-£500. The clasp unclipped the first time I wore the watch and the watch nearly fell from my wrist.
It was clear that there is an issue with the clasp. Brought the watch to the nearest retailer (Bromley Mall, London England) where they told me to go to the Breitling boutique in central London, the international warranty does Not cover straps. Boutique said the same,and basically refused to accept liability of a faulty clasp, on a brand new watch.
Did not wear the watch for about 18 months for fear of the clasp unclipping. Saw a TV programme where someone said that his strap kept unclipping and he actually lost his watch. I took the watch to a jeweller for repair and was told that Breitling should have replaced the clasp, as it is clearly faulty, it is the strap that is not covered by the International warranty. Sent the watch to Breitling, said they were prepared to fix the clasp free of charge. I protested that a brand new clasp should Not need repairing. They stated wear and tear. The strap is in pristine condition, showing no trace of wear and tear. Refused to change so I had to make do with the repair. The customer service did understand my position, such a shame that her manager refused to even use common sense, sticking to wear and tear despite the lack of any wear on the strap. Lot of money to have fall from your wrist.

Breitliong does not stand by its products

In May 2017, I purchased from an official Breitling retailer a new Super Ocean Heritage 42. The watch looked great. When I got it home, I noticed that the hour hand did not align with the hour markers. The minute hand had to go anywhere from 5 minutes to 15 minutes past the hour to bet aligned. I requested a return to have this fixed, and when I received my watch back, it, a brand new watch had been serviced but nothing done to fix the issue. I called and eventually got the customer service manager, who stated several times that this was within specification. I requested a conversation with the US President, who I was told does not speak to customers. So I wrote the CEO in Switzerland a letter. The next day, I received a call from the same customer service manager who requested the watch be returned. I then took pictures of watch at all 12 positions and highlighted the discrepancies. After another week plus, I received an email back stating that it had been fixed, so I authorized the return as long as all positions had been fixed. Needless to say, there were still two positions visibly out of alignment. Upon notifying this same manager again, I was told that this met Breitling spec. A watch that is a chronometer is out by over 5 minutes does not seem worth the reputation that this company has, and their lack of empathy is industry leading.
