Brindley and Sons Reviews 

I wanted to buy a steel bar to go across an inwardly opening garden gate to make it more secure. I'd figured out what I needed and Brindley offered what I wanted in a good range of sizes.
The website is lacking in much detail (descriptions and pics) but it seemed to fit what I wanted.
I'm fixing this into brickwork and the supplied bolts are designed for a wood. I emailed to see if they did a ground anchor fixing kit. The response was extremely fast. Unfortunately they didn't do the kit but I'm sorting that separately.
Delivery costs weren't made very clear and you had to go through to the point of ordering to discover it's free! I really would suggest they make more of a thing about this because buying heavy metal items can often come with disproportionate delivery costs and this is a big plus point.
I completed the online order and received an email from worldpay saying that the payment had been received but this didn't mean the order had been accepted and In would need to await confirmation from Brindley.
Normally these things are automated and come almost immediately. However, I waited a couple of hours and as I'd heard nothing I emailed them again.
Almost immediately I received a formatted response informing me my order had been sent out.
The very next day it arrived!
The bar and brackets are exactly what I wanted and good value, given the very fast and free delivery.
I'd recommend this company, however, I think they're selling themselves a little short on their website and delivery costs. Although I had misgivings about not getting order acceptance confirmation (mostly down to worldpay's email) I can forgive that with the super-fast order fulfilment

I ordered a steel washing line post. The item advertised is stated to be made to order & the customer should wait 3-4 weeks. My order turned up the day after placing the order. It clearly wasn't made to oorder and was not in brand new condition. It has drill holes at the top & bottom of the post. The pictures of the said item listed on their website & on eBay do not show any holes in the post. Also, the item was scratched, demonstrating that it was not brand new.
I contacted the seller. The refused to replace it. They said the holes will be in all of their posts despite this not being advertised or depicted in pictures of the items listed. They would not answer questions as to why the holes are not shown in any of the items listed for sale. They literally called me a liar by saying that post wasn't scratched when they sent it to me. Also, it was damaged in transit. But still the seller refuses to replace the post. Instead they offer to take it back, but didn't offer to pay for the return or offer me a full refund.
The communication style of this seller is blunt & uninformative. They do not care about their reputation as they appear to be happy to seller damaged goods & list them as made to order and brand new.
