I’m a collector of vintage pre-1970 film cameras who develops at home. These old cameras frequently flag idiosyncrasies and problems.

Online film and photography forums are certainly helpful. Yet the main chap at Bristol Cameras is consistently very knowledgeable and spot-on, also quite happy to spend time on the ‘phone explaining things thoroughly. Highly recommended.

Really prompt delivery. I rang on Monday morning, having placed an online order at the weekend, and the developer I needed was dispatched that day. Really helpful, thank you so much for the help and speed of delivery.

Ordered around 1pm and had same day dispatch. An item I ordered was out of stock and they called me right away to inform me and suggested other items to swap it out with. Very good and efficient service. I’ll definitely be back !

Bristol Cameras doesn't just sell cameras they sell useful parts that sometimes break or get lost, like rubber eyecups for a viewfinder. So useful and easy to forget how important these little pieces are. I would rate Bristol Cameras above Amazon as they are cheaper (personal experience) and deliver quicker. The same part from Amazon would have taken six months to arrive, Bristol Cameras, three days!

I purchased a part for my tripod from Bristol St Cameras. I chose them as their website stated the part was in stock. I called them about 5 days later as the part had not arrived. The camera shop man said it was on order as it was out of stock. Never got an answer as to why they state parts are available when they are not. He then said it should be with me soon. Some 17 days from the order being placed it eventually turned up. Not sure if I’ll use this company in future.

Bought a changing bag as lost access to a darkroom. Bristol Cameras we're brilliant - good price and efficient service with good communication at every step.

It's odd how we now live in a world where we praise companies for doing what they're supposed to do, but that's where we're at. Bristol Cameras did just that, so I would recommend them to anyone.

And it was nice to use a company not sharing its name with a long river!
