DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY

DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY! Scumbags! Taking money from the elderly! It’s a shame I have to give 1 star as I want to give zero. My elderly parents needed 2 windows replaced. The sales person went round and took a deposit from them. This was in October 2025, it’s now nearly May 2026 and not one contact from and not anything installed. I didn’t realise this and they only remembered recently that they had booked it. I have since chased and chased and the phone goes to an external receptionist who knows nothing and can’t redirect you call. Been told several times now that I would get a call back but nothing. Asked for a refund and nothing… I have now contacted action fraud and the trading standards. Disgusting company!

Unprofessional company

First of all I’m certain they referred to themselves as Britannia Windows and Doors, which led me to search up the wrong company (there is another company under this name which has much better reviews).
My experience: sales person came to give me a quote on a front door and two windows. I was still being pushed to pay a deposit after expressing multiple times that I wasn’t willing to spend any money that day. Managed to be given 24 hours to think on it and decided to go for the door because it really needed doing.
They came to install 15/12/2025 but installed the wrong colour frame on the outside. I called my point of contact and he tried to persuade me to keep it since it was more expensive. I said I’d like to stick with what I ordered and so they took the whole door off while they went to make and bring a new frame. Middle of December with no front door all day, no option but to sit and wait for it to be completed. I believe that the second attempt was rushed because my house was completely filled with the smell of chemicals that took a week to get rid of.
The door doesn’t actually meet the rubber seal and so it lets cold air in. The guys came back to ‘fix’ it but I see no difference.
A few weeks later I was contacted by someone from the company as a ‘courtesy call’. I explained the issue with the door and he organised for someone to come and have a look. No one turned up. Organised for another appointment by which I mean a date and time was agreed. They called me up the next morning which I missed, I called them back within 10 minutes and was told that they had given my appointment to someone else, and that I could rearrange for later in the day, which I did. When the time came, it wasn’t someone to fix the door but to give me a quote for the windows. I was asked when I was expecting to get the work done to which I replied I wasn’t sure because I need to get the funds together first. The sales person then explained that costs were due to go up in spring and so he would not give me a quote that day. Highly confusing since he’d already given me a quote (I still have the paperwork) and was told multiple times that quotes are fixed for 12 months. He left and said that someone would come to fix the door soon but no one turned up. I have tried messaging and calling both points of contact but had no response.
My door is that loose that you can hear it whistling on windy days 😂 £1300 spent to be left with the same problem I had before.

Britannia Double-glazing - Terrible After Service

I had a UPVC door replaced by Britannia Double Glazing based in Nelson, Lancashire, back in December 2024, and within 4 days I could no longer lock it. I contacted the company and was promised someone would come out to sort it – but by February 2025 I was still waiting.
Then during the recent hot weather I couldn’t even close the door properly. After Googling a temporary fix, I contacted the company again. On three separate occasions they promised to send someone, yet here we are in September 2025 and, you guessed it, I’m still waiting.
In the end I had to pay a third-party door specialist to fix the mess. He had to completely strip the door back, trim around half an inch, then rebuild and refit it. I’ve not had a problem since, it now locks & closes.
The aftercare from Britannia Double Glazing is non-existent. Save your money and look elsewhere – you’ll thank yourself later.
