DO NOT PARK HERE

I parked at the Britannia Airport Hotel, Palatine Road in Manchester whilst on holiday. I paid for one night overstay at the hotel and a weeks parking with late fees.

I returned to my car from holiday damaged, yet the hotel refused to provide access to cctv footage. Nor did they respond to my emails. The car park is horrendous and badly designed.

Although I signed my registration in at the reception and paid for parking with an email confirmation. I still landed a letter on my doormat for a parking fine that I’ve now had to appeal. Absolutely disgraceful service and worst hotel car park. With no care or regard for customers whatsoever. It’s caused me so much unnecessary stress.

Avoid parking here, such poor service.

Waitrose Coulsdon

I am writing in reference to the parking management at the Coulsdon branch and on behalf of my Father in Law who is 90. As a customer who enjoys his almost daily visits to this branch (this can be verified) my FIL was disturbed to receive a parking charge of £95 from Britannia Parking, in short stating that he had parked overnight. This is impossible as he cannot walk any great distance or carry bags and lives over a mile away from the store . He was understandably very upset, anxious and intimidated by this and returned to the store to question why he had received such a notice but was directed back to Britannia who it appears clearly have a track record (see Trustpilot reviews) of this. In this case the images and supporting details can only be described as appearing fraudulent as my father would not obviously sleep overnight in your car park but would probably visit at the same time most days. We fully expect more threatening letters from Britannia which despite their advice we will ignore, however we implore Waitrose Coulsdon to review whom they employ to manage their car parking facility and to hopefully stop customers receiving such treatment. I did telephone the number provided by Britannia and in a recorded message they said they could not identify the Parking Charge Notice Number so it is possible there is more to this. I can provide further details.

Will Never Use Again

Will never use again. We paid for three hours parking at a Britannia car park using the paybyphone app so were surprised to find a PCN stuck to the screen and questioned the Patrol Officer who checked his tablet. After helping him to locate our registration on his tablet, he advised that although there was a valid payment on the system we would still need to appeal. When we challenged this he told us that the system some times experiences delays which meant that our payment was not visible to him when he issued the PCN. When I opened the PCN the next day to follow the appeals procedure, to my further surprise, the PCN was not even for our car but for a totally different vehicle and registration. The website does not cater for the scenario where the operative has placed the PCN on the wrong vehicle, there is no way to contact them by phone, so I had to waste my time emailing them, mainly so that the owner of the car the ticket was intended for didn't end up finding out about the parking fine when the debt collectors turned up at their door! Complete incompetence.

This is the only car park I have ever…

This is the only car park I have ever been in where I thought it would be safer to leave my car on the street outside. I asked the ‘attendant’ (bloke with a torch) to help me to set the timer so that i didn’t have to pay for 24 hours when I only wanted to park for 2 and he was very hostile and actually swore at me and then was extremely cheeky. Absolute shambles. Avoid at all costs

Dishonest

Dishonest, fraudulent scammers. Should be investigated by the police.

I paid £12 for a 2 hour stay and have proof of payment, Despite this I received a PCN. Despite ther proof of payment they will not back down and are relying on my willingness to litigate. Thieves

Feel sorry for the people that have to work for this place

Seeing a company like this operate in our world genuinely makes me sad to be a human. Not sure what type of people these are and how they sleep at night knowing that they are profiting from individuals in the middle of a pandemic, but I wish them luck.

We ended up in court...and here they go again for the same thing

We ended up in court. I had maintained their machine was not working as I had tried several different coins, all of which fell through. They provided a service log of their machines, of which the specific time period and several later periods were missing - basically one A4 sheet - thus maintained their machine was functioning perfectly.

Having settled the matter in Court, I now find myself pursued by a further debt collection agency - Debt Recovery Plus, whose correspondence is border line illegal, and I have left a scathing review.

Either Britannia Parking has illegally instructed more than one debt collection agency simultaneously, or has sold an out of date list of late payments to a debt collection agency which accepts as gospel its clients’ paperwork.

As there is a court record of the settlement, I shall be making complaints to both the parking trade associations and the Financial Conduct Authority adding to that complaint Debt Recovery Plus. I may seek financial redress from Britannia Parking for emotional distress or other cause associated with harassment.

I would recommend that this organisation is avoided like the plague. From the reviews contained here they would seem to verge on demanding money with menaces.

Money grabbing ratbags

So my boyfriend had to park in their car park because of work he only puts the 4 digits of his reg in as it beeped to say that’s okay and printed his ticket out little did we know that he had to put all of his reg in so we ended up with about 9 tickets we have proof that we paid for the tickets no we still had to pay 20 pound for each fine as they reduced it!!
One it shouldn’t let you go ahead without the full registration and 2 if we having to pay for the fine because we “supposedly” didn’t pay for the tickets surely we should get our 7 pound back for each ticket that we put on? But of course we won’t they’re just money grabbing scumbags, avoid their car parks if you can!!!

Covid-19 most of the other car park…

Covid-19 most of the other car park companies have closed there car parks machines due to covid-19
Sadly not Britannia car parks they close their machines so you can't put money in and then they charge you £60 to £100 for using their car parks
You can't use customer services because of covid-19 they have closed all the call centres down but then they're are expecting you to use the car parks in covid-19 with no cleaning gel
NOT HAPPY AND I HAVEN'T FINISHED WITH BRITANNIA CAR PARKS

RIP OFF - £60 penalty for not getting a ticket for the FREE 30 minute parking

I was only in the car park for about 20 minutes and the sign said there was no charge for the first 30 minutes. So I left quickly to ensure that I got back in time. I did not read the whole sign, but apparently I needed to get a ticket anyway. I have now received a £60 penalty (for NOT getting a "free ticket") which I must pay within 14 days or it increases.

RIP OFF company - What an unreasonable way to behave ! ! !

Selfish Clueless Company!!

If I could give this so called Company zero stars I would. We received a PCN for being 13 minutes over our parking ticket due to a dying relative. My wife had to leave her dying mothers bed to move the car. Also as my wife was rushing to be by her mother's side and wanted to pay by card, she couldn't as the card machine was not working so used the spare change she had (better than nothing). Apparently Brittania Parking staff think it's appropriate to waste time walking around their car park to find an alternative machine to pay at such a stressful, upsetting time. Appealed to be charged more! No consideration whatsoever. Staff are like insensitive robots and management are clueless to reality. Hopefully COVID-19 will sink the business as that is what's needed. Poor appeals procedure, poor staff, poor payment facilities, poor management. Do not use, you will be ripped off.

Bloody minded Racket

Had a business meeting at a hotel, gave details and regristration number to hotel reception so that as a guest of the hotel there would be no charges. Have had two unpleasant letters from Britannia Parking, despite the fact that the hotel has now told then twice that there should be no charge. Tried to ring Britannia but there is only one option to speak to someone and that option is simply not answered. They have caused stress and wasted my time, but doubt they could care.
