We had a tour of the Concorde with Darell and he was nice. The tour was interactive and interesting but I am not surprised. I personally love the Brooklands Museum all the time and the volunteers and so kind, respectful and full of surprising facts to shock you.

A Day Out Ruined by One Extremely Rude Parking Steward

A Day Out Ruined by One Extremely Rude Parking Steward

On 25 May 2026, I drove a considerable distance to visit Brooklands Museum with my father, who is in his 80s, as a special day out together. We had both been looking forward to it all week, particularly with the museum currently celebrating its centenary year.

Unfortunately, the experience ended before we even got through the gate.

After arriving, we were approached by a female steward in the car park who told us — in an extremely rude, condescending and dismissive manner — that if we did not already have pre-booked tickets, we needed to “turn around and leave”.

At no point during our earlier visit to the website did it appear clearly stated that tickets could not be purchased on arrival. If this is now policy, it needs to be made far more obvious before people make a long journey.

What was most disappointing was not even the ticket issue itself, but the attitude and lack of basic courtesy shown towards visitors, particularly an elderly gentleman who had made the effort to come out for the day.

For a museum celebrating such an important milestone in British history and engineering, the welcome we received was deeply disappointing.

First impressions matter. Sadly, ours was poor enough that we will not be returning.
