When looking for a builder for my loft conversion I had many reservations about using someone I had not personally been recommended due to me living abroad and not being able to oversee the project myself. From initial contact I have been able to put 100% trust in Steve to carry out the project to a high standard and in a good time frame. He has gone above and beyond to help me not only with the basic conversion but all the decoration of the apartment after, including organising all the contractors. He has been consistent in updating me on the progress of the works on a weekly basis which helped to put my mind at ease. Steve’s input of ideas and recommendations has been invaluable and has resulted in the flat being flood with light. I have also been grateful for his diplomacy with the neighbours affected by the works. I would highly recommend Built from Scratch for loft conversion work.

Brilliant job from Built From Scratch. No mess - no hassle and so pleased with the installation of my 2 velux windows - result exceeded my expectations. Everyone in the team very pleasant to work with.

OMG these guys are good! Very efficient - very creative - couldn't fault them in any department. Also very clean and tidy. They were friendly and always considerate to what we wanted and how we felt about things. The end product (a loft room and bathroom) was stunning and has changed the whole layout and outlook of the house.

I'd like to thank Steve and his team for my awesome loft! I'm so happy! It was a pleasure to have Steve and the guys in the house... they were always on time, respectful, professional and always happy. Steve was able to work with my ever changing ideas and demanding requests and always understood what I was trying to achieve. There were elements of 'something different' in my design and Steve always stayed one step head of me and advised me from a practical perspective, leaving me with a wonderful bespoke loft conversion that even the building inspector commented was fabulous. Built from scratch managed my loft conversation and some other work around the house, and found creative ways to meet all my requirements, some of which were unconventional - an additional staircase, a concealed door, stained glass skylights, a bespoke lighting solution preserving part of an original wall. All the things which were important to me, they found ways of putting in place, and equally important, they were so flexible, as family life carried on around them as we lived on site whilst they worked - I felt completely comfortable with Steve and the guys in his team all the time they were in my house.

Steve Wrieden from Built From Scratch offers an amazing service. We had our loft converted by him and his team. The final effect is exceptional and we would recommend Steve to anyone. He's flexible, creative, pays attention to detail, always ready to listen to suggestions and provides clear information about steps of the project all along. We couldn't be happier with Steve and would definitely use his service again.
